This pool has been in business sometime, mostly for Mosby Woods residents and visitors. Have been lucky to have swum laps here, or just chilled with the kindle on the fairly comfortable chairs. The gravel lot works, and can hold a decent amount of vehicles. If parking is an issue, residential streets close by have room. The employees here are very friendly. Also kudos to them, for not allowing teenagers to do what they want to do. Yes all of us, myself included were young once, but sometimes you want to hammer out laps or relax a bit. There's more road noise from 66, due to the 66 inside the Beltway project. Yet all in all, a decent place to be on a hot summer day.

I wouldn't be surprised if it could be set up to be 50 meter lanes instead of the standard 25 meter lanes. The pool is a T shape, with 3 diving boards on one end and a gradual entry on the other end. There's also a small water slide. Theres also an extensive snack bar with a lot of options. They even offer relish, mustard and mayo packets for a deluxe experience with your burger or hot dog. That said, this pool has been around awhile, and you can certainly tell in the facilities. The shower/bathroom area is OLD. The tile is pink from back when pink bathrooms were in style. But I don't hold it against them since the pool is so nice!

His staff is well-trained, friendly, and professional, and the pool and sauna are always spotless -- which is a major factor for me. Zach is also great with kids and makes swim lessons fun and engaging. I especially appreciate the small basketball hoop he added to the pool area -- such a thoughtful touch that members of all ages enjoy. Outside, there is baseball & softball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields (turf) a skate park, & several walking or biking trails. Inside, they have a full-size swimming pool & diving well with both spring boards and platforms, there are racquetball courts, a gym, and studios for all kinds of classes like yoga, as well as a physical therapy office through INOVA. I have been here many times for my son's soccer & swim team practice as well as just coming to play and have fun. Personally, I have been here for yoga classes as well as PT including aquatic PT. You can purchase a class pass or pay a one day fee or you sign up for a wide variety of classes offered year round. On Wednesdays they have a local farmers market out in the parking lot. They also have county recycling bins, which I have used recently for glass. Note: as expected there's a heavy chlorine smell in the pool area so if you're sensitive before warned.

Sound fun? Yeah, me neither. Rather than use a toilet, some patrons apparently just use the shower. Rather than wait for a family change room, some patrons bring their school age boys into a private space that is meant for women and little girls. To top it off, management will blame the messenger if you complain, adding insult to injury. Highly dysfunctional and poorly managed.

It's played with a standard height volleyball net but softer ball. You can hit the sides of the wall as well. It's a fun sport. If you're looking to play walleyball in the Fairfax area, check out this rec center. You can call them in advance and reserve a court. For 2 hours it costs each of us $11. You also get access to other facilities in the rec center. They have a decent locker room for shower and decent sauna. Huge swimming pool. Large parking area as well.

We've been at the pool…read morefor 5 years and every year, I'm excited to see the people I haven't seen all winter and that I'll be seeing almost daily for the rest of the summer. I think the community is great! We also have an awesome swim team that has climbed up to Division 2 this summer, so if you're looking for a great swim coach where your kids can swim competitively, this pool is it. The swim team is also big enough that your kids will have plenty of friends to choose from. There's a nice cohort or about 5-6 girls and 5-6 boys in each age group for your kids to gel with and my kids look forward to playing with their swim friends after practice. If you're looking at VAC verses Dunn Loring, I personally prefer VAC because: -the pool is set back from the road so you don't hear street noise -the pool has trees to provide shade for the mornings and evenings - I've heard about friends who are Dunn Loring members getting awful sunburns -the fee to become a member at VAC is refundable when you end your membership, unlike Dunn Loring -we only have one pool but it has 8 lanes making for much faster swim meets. Swim meets at Dunn Loring seem to last forever.

My son…read morehas been taking lessons here for a couple of years now and we love how it is hidden in the middle of the Wakefield Chapel neighborhood & surrounded by trees. They have two separate courts; a bigger one on the higher level that has two on it and the smaller one on the lower level that has one, so it's really a great facility where you can have a lot of people playing at once. There's also a little tennis building with a covered cabana area that offers tables & a lot of seating where parents or friends and family can sit and relax while they wait, and a smaller waiting area between the two courts. If you prefer to stay active while you wait, the grounds are connected to many trails that you can go walk or run on. Our neighborhood community pool has swam against this pool during swim season and it is also a beautiful facility.

This place is horrible. I pay $28,000 in tuition every semester, and you're telling me I can't use…read morethe SINGLE ab machine in the entire gym? Wtf? I walk in and see a huge part of the place "under construction." Keep in mind I have a fractured elbow and other injuries, and the only way for me to train abs right now is with an ab machine which is locked away in a room labeled "under construction." Why can't you just move the only ab machine out of that room and put it in the main area? Is it too heavy? Does it not have wheels? I genuinely don't get it. And every time you walk in, something is always out of service. The Smith machine has been broken since August and it's now the end of the semester. All this money, and the only thing they can do is tell you "you can't do this, you can't do that." At this point I'm seriously considering getting a membership at a private gym. I can't stand this place anymore. If you go to GMU or plan to, seriously consider the fact that the fitness facilities, not just the Aquatic Center, offer horrible service with pointless "safety" rules and regulations that make everyone's life harder.
