Given our experience, and despite being pregnant via CCRM, I can firmly and resolutely say it has been a deeply unprofessional and difficult experience with both clinical and administrative staff. We can NOT recommend. I would urge others to seek other options rather than work with CCRM. People said Dr. Schoolcraft would be kind of crass and straightforward, not kind and caring. He is and that's Ok with us. We wanted straight information and my partner isn't looking for a friend from her fertility doctor, just a competent, truthful, medical experience. But he's ultimately responsible for his haywire staff who aren't holding the clinic together and that's the greater issue because you're only with him about 1 hour in total but interacting with the staff (or trying to) frequently. From our initial workup, where everything was fine with our health (just a previous vasectomy necessitated reproductive assistance, therefore pregnancy wasn't any grand "success" on CCRM's part) there were very odd signs that the clinic is deeply disorganized and you are "just a number" for them to glean as much money from as possible, any way possible. It began when they lost our medical records which had been faxed, emailed, then finally hand carried over -- they were lost or didn't have systems in place. These were sensitive medical documents. It was expensive and very time consuming to keep sending all the documents over and over and over. Annoying ... and not off to very reassuring start. In my 12 years with Kaiser, they've never lost anything....hummm. Furthermore, as part of your initial workup you are scheduled to meet with various staff like the finance team and nursing team members. They were actually supposed to meet with us in person that day but overbooked patients so said they'd followup w/ phone apts. Despite asking in person for these appointment to be arranged, we were just forgotten, and we never received calls for the additional appointments (Btw, at this point you've already paid several thousand dollars out of pocket) We kept calling and calling and calling... to attempt to set these crucial appointments with staff. When we finally set phone appointments, took time off of work, CCRM staff skipped/forget about our scheduled appointments. We called back, set up new appointments, no one ever called at our multiple rescheduled appointments!! It was like being in a frustrating Alice in Wonderland movie where nothing makes sense or is organized AT ALL!! This back and forth went on for several months... we'd schedule, they'd no show. Meanwhile, we're being billed for appointments and procedures we haven't DONE!! At this point... we were becoming concerned. It is very unorthodox for any competent medical provider to NO SHOW for your scheduled medical appointments! yikes. -- I needed a surgery w/ Dr. Cowen (urologist). Dr. Cowen himself was good to work with and gave us thoughtful, productive advice. However, we had a time sensitive surgery which needed scheduling. At the end of our appointment, he said "my team and CCRM's staff will call you today or tomorrow to have this scheduled this week". No one called. We called their office 8 times... yes.... 8 times leaving messages for various staff who promised someone would call back. They didn't schedule the surgery until 2.5 MONTHS later, by which time my partner had to go through ANOTHER process and we spent tens of thousands $$$$ on additional procedures (btw, not related to COVID delays). And, we got a bill from CCRM saying that my partner's procedure was delayed so they were charging us fees for "delaying" the process and letting me know they'd send us to collections if the delay fee wasn't paid straight away. I worked w/ the finance dept explaining we couldn't get the surgery scheduled at their surgery center due to their staff!! To no avail, they do not care. They will charge you whatever they see fit. You're a hostage to the situation--They are holding your eggs and sperm hostage. They don't follow their own policies and guidelines (some staff do, others don't.... it's a crapshoot), coupled with severe disorganization became so incomprehensible we were concerned that they may not even keep the eggs/sperm properly organized.... we could have our egg mixed with someone else's sperm and never know :( Also, be aware several yrs ago they sold to outside investors. My understanding, is it has sadly taken a deep plunge since "selling out" I am in some couples fertility groups and heard the same story about CCRM from others. Even those who got pregnant had NIGHTMARE experiences with CCRM. I really don't know how they can still have medical license and stay in business -- We couldn't if we treated our customers this way but I guess "fertility" is such a booming business. BUT shop around! There are other options!! We hope we can wave a warning flag to others :( read more

Choosing to go to CCRM (Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine) has been the single biggest mistake of my life. Dr. Gustofson did not have the knowledge or experience to accurately assess my cause of infertility or the proper treatment for it. Rather than even try to figure out why I had been infertile from a very young age, he just threw at me their standard protocol - that my case would require 3 cycles of IVF, and even then, he wasn't sure I'd walk away with a baby in the end. Being told I would need to pay $60k and fly to Colorado 3 times, be on medications for basically an entire year, I said no thank you, and went straight to donor eggs at age 36. Years later, I consulted with a really great doctor, Dr. Bankowski at ORM Fertility in Oregon, who was astonished at the outcome of my treatment at CCRM. He said that at the age of 36, with an AMH of 1.0 and an FSH of 8.7, there was absolutely no reason to require 3 cycles without even seeing how I did with one, and definitely no reason to go straight to donor eggs, since I definitely still had eggs of my own. He could not understand the aggressiveness of Dr. Gustofson's treatment. Dr. Bankowski also told me that in cases like mine, where I can't get pregnant naturally (due to a diagnosis of endometriosis, which Dr. Gustofson was also aware of), IVF is generally very successful. And it turns out Dr. Bankowski was right! I have done IVF 3 times, and I have gotten pregnant all 3 times. Had Dr. Gustofson had the knowledge and experience to tell me this, I would definitely have felt it worth trying with my own eggs. Due to Dr. Gustofson's ineptitude, I ended up making a life altering decision that was really not in my best interest. I will always wish I had gone to ORM first. If you are looking for a doctor who will have your best interests in mind, rather than his own, stay away from CCRM. Update: After Dr. Gustofson replied to this review with a request that I contact him via phone or email to further discuss this, I did send 2 emails on 2 separate occasions, and also contacted the business department once to request he contact me. He ignored my contact attempts. I then contacted a nurse manager there to file a complaint about these replies, as clearly the doctor does not actually care about resolving my concerns, and only wants to make himself look good. The nurse manager listened to my complaint and said she would discuss this with the doctor and get back to me. Three weeks went by and I never heard back, so I followed up with the nurse manager. My call was returned by CCRM's executive director, Rhonda Bearinger, who told me they had no further thoughts on this topic and any questions I have should be directed to their attorney. If anyone has any inkling that they care about patients or have any sort of compassion at all, please see my case as a shining example that they do not care about patients in any way. read more

Let me begin by saying that I am currently six months pregnant from an a single IUI performed at the University of Colorado Advanced Reproductive Medicine center. My experience at CCRM was not so good. CCRM likes to claim that they have very high IVF success rates. Consequently, they charge A LOT more money compared to other clinics. I am writing this review to express my view that these purportedly high success rates are likely due to the fact that CCRM cherry picks their patients, refusing to take on patients who have less than optimal chances. In doing so, they are able to artificially elevate their reported success rates and thereby justify their exorbitant costs. Clinics like CCRM are the likely the reason for why the CDC says that the success rates of different fertility clinics cannot be compared to each other. In my particular case, I saw Dr. Surrey. Although he seems pretty nice, he is really not a very good doctor. More specifically, he said that he would refuse to treat me at age 38 due to the fact that I have poor AMH/FSH numbers. He incorrectly informed me that I had a "1% chance" of conceiving. Wrong! As I explained above, I am six months pregnant following a single IUI with Dr. Polosky at the Colorado Center For Reproductive Medicine. If someone like me (who had a baby two years ago and who is only 38) is not allowed to use fertility treatments, then who exactly is? What is the purpose of a fertility clinic if not to treat patients? In my case, not only was Dr. Surry unwilling to treat me with IVF, but he was also unwilling to give me simple medications like Clomid that I used to have my child two years earlier. In addition to the fact that Dr. Surrey refused to treat me (likely because I might not help to boost CCRM's "success rates" that they use to justify exorbitant costs), I also received very poor treatment from the clinic in the fall of 2015. More specifically, they performed a Clomid cycle that cost me $2,000.00 in which they accidentally triggered the only follicle I had 13 mm. Despite this major mistake, I was never offered a refund. A final issue that I have with Dr. Surrey is that he charges over $200.00 for a consultation and then wants to run out of the room after ten minutes. Furthermore, CCRM did not do a good job of picking up the phones. In fact, the best way to often get into contact with them was to connect with the new patient line! Once you become a patient, they were apparently no longer interested in picking up the phone. Dr. Surrey also routinely disappeared on long vacations during which he could not be contacted. Finally, CCRM refused to pick up the phone the entire weekend after New Year's Day of 2016. I am certainly glad that I was not doing one of their $35,000 IVF rounds that weekend! The best decision I ever made was to switch over to the University of Colorado Advanced Reproductive Medicine center. read more

HIGHLY OVERRATED CENTRE. CCRM has managed to create a false positive hype because of this guy which is as shallow as he himself. He is not into medicine but into research and publishing because that's what gets the name out there and creates a hype and will treat patients as experimental subjects with NO real patient interest at heart. Schoolcraft will stick to his pre-designed protocols for clinical research purposes and will not budge even if the actual cycle monitoring results are begging for a change. So the "METHODS" SECTION OF HIS RESEARCH PAPER IS SAME AND EVERY PATIENT HAS TO STICK TO IT.AND HE CAN THEN WRITE THE RESULTS and DISCUSSION SECTION. Those who understand research and have read/written papers themselves will see right through this guy's practice. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE WHATSOEVER based on monitoring AND HE WON'T EVEN LOOK AT THE RESULTS OF DAILY MONITORING IN REAL TIME AND CONSIDER GOING UP OR DOWN WITH DOSING. HIS DECISIONS ARE PRE-DETERMINED AND NOT BASED ON DAILY MONITORING.ALL THE MONITORING IS A USELESS EXERCISE WHEN IT COMES TO SCHOOLCRAFT! AND I HAVE EVIDENCE OF THIS NOT ONCE BUT REPEATEDLY! He is indifferent, cold and crafty and most importantly CLUELESS AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE when it comes to working with patients who he anticipates to be difficult. Will never do a fresh transfer on you if you have a history of failures. CCRM is a organized money minting machine. They will carry out unnecessary tests, procedures just to make money. They of course will have legitimate explanation for doing everything. Do not fall for the hype, they are not worth the high hopes and extra money you pay to be here. Schoolcraft is a very mediocre RE when it comes to actual practice and will do anything...ANYTHING to keep up their manipulated statistics and pockets full of money. Basically nothing but a shrewd, SELF FOCUSSED, self serving businessman. And I am not one of the most difficult cases around. There are other REs who have been successful with patients 10 times more tricky than I am. I regret wasting my precious time with this bookish overhyped RE. He could have served the library science better than medicine. I wonder all the papers that he publishes has helped anyone at all!!!!!!????????????. As someone who struggled through infertility for a long time and at the age of 39 having gone through 8 IUI's and 5 IVF cycles elsewhere without success we were looking for any small hope that we could hold onto. My husband found this doctor and the name CCRM and Dr Schoolcraft kept showing up on numerous forums . We immediately thought this is the place that could turn our fortunes and we called CCRM the next day for an appt with Dr Schoolcraft . To our pleasant surprise they setup a phone consult with Dr school craft within a month. I should say that our phone consult and our direct meetings with him during our 1 day workup wasn't the most pleasant experience as he is someone who is known to be blunt and he keeps your expectations low. I remember the day when me and my husband came out to the parking lot in lone tree and we almost cried after Dr S told us that we only have a 15% shot if we try another round of IVF with own eggs and a 40% chance if we go the IVM route. During the next followup consult we asked for one opportunity to try conventional IVF and then try IVM if it doesn't work. We ended up doing IVF but with very minimum stim almost identical to IVM. Without going into any further details I would say the hospital, doctor and nurses were phenomenal in every step of the way and a special shoutout to nurse Erin and nurse Amy. Fast forward to today, I am 21 weeks pregnant right now with the first embryo transferred with my baby boy and another perfect CCS tested embryo waiting in lonetree CO. I just went for my level 2 U/S today and everything looked perfect with the baby and I am writing this review with happy tears while my husband holds a glass of scotch. Anyone who are in their late 30's and think they are doomed with infertility pls don't walk just run to this place and I hope CCRM can turn your dream become a reality just like they did ours. read more

I was blown away when I first walked into CCRM at how well it was run. Our entire experience at this clinic was night and day different from our first clinic. You have a personal nurse assigned to you that knows your chart and holds your hand every step of the way. I don't think I would know the value of this if I didn't have an experience at another clinic. My first go around with IVF (not at CCRM), I was treated like a number, had to explain who I was and where we were in the process every time I called. They didn't monitor me well and overdosed me on meds which led to fragile eggs and a failed cycle. Fast forward to IVF at CCRM and my experience was soooo much better. Every step of the way I felt well monitored, well educated, well cared for and like I was in the best hands in the country. I'll never forget being in our welcome meeting and we were the only couple from the United States. This place truly is one of a kind. We traveled from Alabama and they made the process so easy. My nurse, Cindy, now feels like family and I'm so grateful for how she cared for me and my husband throughout the process. I am also really thankful for Dr Schoolcraft's expertise. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have my twin boys. Our issue was male factor and last minute he made the call to fertilize with half surgery sperm and half sample sperm. My twins are from one of each. I literally wouldn't have them without Dr S. While CCRM can't promise everyone a baby, I feel that they take on the hardest cases and go out of their way to give every couple the best shot. Their staff is incredible and so knowledgeable and helpful. I don't think you can truly appreciate this place until you've experienced other clinics. My husband and I can only say awesome things about CCRM, and I wanted to share our story to give you hope. In fact, I am surprised that they only have 3 stars. We have been trying to conceive for about 5 1/2 years now. My husband has low morphology rates due to a varicocele veins and I have thyroid struggles. Through multiple Dr visits to urologists (for my husband), surgeries to get rid of the veins; nothing was working. We discovered Conceptions to only find out their billing department is a nightmare, their organization at the front desk was inconsistent, and their end all game of pushing us into IVF was an obvious monetary motive. We were so frustrated already that this made everything worse, so we decided to give CCRM a shot. From the moment we had our consultation, we were wowed by their attention to detail and we automatically felt like we were going to be in good hands. They didn't push us to IVF and were more willing to look beyond our struggle and really listened to what we wanted to do before we took the IVF route. We attempted 2 IUI's and by the second one we received good news that our miracle had arrived. We are still in shock and feel so blessed to finally put our struggles behind us. Dr. Schoolcraft, and his nurse, RN Michele Chase, truly helped us achieve our pregnancy. This place is the absolute best if you have a fertility issue. They know what they're doing and the staff are caring. I was referred to them for an anatomical defect and not chronic infertility issues. I think that there are different dynamics involved but I had a wonderful experience. I was seen by Dr. Eric Surrey. Dr. Surrey is very knowledgeable and uses the latest evidence and techniques available in his field. He explains the problems, evidence, and procedures in language adapted to the person in front of him. He takes the time to help you work out your own decision making as well. I never had any doubts about what was going to happen to me while I was in his care. He is also aware of the very real-world financial implications of the treatments that he provides. He was able to make time in his schedule to treat me before the end of the calendar year so that my insurance would pick up most of the cost on that year's deductible. With people like Dr Surrey and his team it's no wonder that CCRM is the leader in the field of infertility treatments. read more

My husband & I went through 2 full unsuccessful rounds of IVF in Atlanta. When the 2nd round failed we decided to take the trip and go to the best of the best. At 41 with multiple medical issues and a husband with a genetic issue, we are a very complicated case. We had exceeded the local expertise but, going to CCRM Lone Tree, we were well within their book of normal. After a battery of tests, we were off to the races with a thoughtful & effective course of action. There aren't words to explaine how wonderful the experience with CCRM Lone Tree has been - we are beyond thrilled to be one of their patients! From the receptionist & phlebotomists to the nurses & doctors, everyone is top notch! They're thoughtful, consistent, caring - just absolutely wonderful!! We've been thrilled with our CCRM Lone Tree experience from the moment we connected with them!! While we know that they are expensive, we also know that they are less expensive than going through a bunch more unsuccessful rounds somewhere else. read more

Referred by my wife's GYN. These people are taking advantage of the out of pocket expense and the vulnerability of their patients. Anyone going there has clearly had some issues of great gravity in their lives. My wife and I did blood work and semen analysis at the local hospital, covered by our insurance. Two months later CCRM insists on repeating these tests at great expense to us (already 1000$ so far). That is ALL they have done, redundant tests. We do not mind paying to have the specialists weigh in on our situation, but they are bleeding us of money that is going to repeat work.... They also, on our first visit, put the 'hard sell' on a particular piece of blood work done by a company that specializes in genetic blood work. The salesmanship was disgusting and blatant, just like Eddie from Jersey's Used car dealership. This is not medicine, they are vultures of the ugliest kind. If I could give zero stars and have them all arrested for theft, I would.... but this review is the best worst I can do. read more

My wife and I have done two rounds of IVF at two different fertility clinics. Our successful round was done at CCRM, and I cannot praise this clinic and Dr. Schoolcraft enough for what they do, and how they do it. IVF is a very difficult process, and the staff at CCRM understand this. Throughout our experience, everyone from the front line staff to the doctors were amazing and empathetic. They all go the extra mile to add a personal touch to a very stressful process. At the other clinic we had a failed round at, and felt as if we were going to a routine dental appointment every time. Other clinics may tout their stats and success rates, however how cold and impersonal are they during the process? With CCRM, they have the success rates AND bring a caring and empathetic experience to the table. read more

I cannot say enough about CCRM and Dr. Surrey. Because of CCRM, I have 2 sets of TWINS. They are amazing. I had gone through my local Reproductive Medical Facility and failed multiple times. CCRM was my last hope. I met Dr. Surrey and his ArNP, Kathy Jenkins. These people changed my life and I cannot express my gratitude. They have treated me like family which was the polar opposite from my previous fertility experience. The professionalism and cutting edge technology at CCRM are second to none. I am old, but I hope to be able to have 1 more child. I will be back to CCRM in a couple of years. I am a physician, and I have referred several patients to CCRM. They ALL have kids now. CCRM is nothing short of AMAZING. There is NO PLACE anyone should go outside of CCRM. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Schoolcraft and CCRM for any fertility issues. We tried IVF off and on for 5 years locally in Charlotte, NC without success. The first IVF transfer with Dr. Schoolcraft was a success, and we now have a beautiful 19 month old daughter. We recently went back to transfer another embryo and that was also a success 2 for 2. We are expecting a baby boy in May. With IVF, I realize there are no guarantees but from personal experience, CCRM is your best bet with top notch doctors and nurses. Words will never be able to express how thankful we are for Dr. Schoolcraft, Cheryl and everyone else that helped us along the way. I recently had a disappointing experience with a nurse named Barbie (Barbara) at CCRM lone tree. Unfortunately, her behavior was very rude and unprofessional. She repeatedly refused to listen to me and kept interrupting my sentences. Communication is supposed to be a two-way process, but in our conversation, she was the only one talking. I felt unheard and disrespected. Finally, once she finished her sentence, she hung up on me while I was still talking. On a positive note, the other nurses at CCRM are very nice and friendly. It's a shame that Barbie's behavior stands out in such a negative way. I hope this feedback can help improve the overall patient experience. read more

Well, this review is a long time coming but here it is. I have 19 year old triplets who have filled my life with love and this is all thanks to Dr Schoolcraft and his incredible staff. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without my children. The preparatory shots were uncomfortable but we were lucky and had 3 embryos implanted and all 3 took the first time. (Do consider what you will do with your excess embryos. We allowed ours - 14 in all - to be adopted) It has been an incredible ride. I have to find a way to forward some pictures to them. As I said, it has been a long time coming but life is SOOOOOO busy! Triplets will do that to you. read more

We have gone to two different fertility clinics, and CCRM is by far the best experience and results. We had failure with another clinic that was more affordable, but with CCRM we succeeded on our first round, so in the long run saved more money. Everything from the personal touch to the highly experienced doctors and staff was exceptional. Julie has been my nurse during each cycle and has gone above and beyond to answer any questions that I have had. One might think this is a good company to work for because it's one of the best Fertility centers in the country, but it really is not. The compensation is good but the benefits are literally the worst I ever had. The company seems to be more concerned about dress code then they do about employees coming to work drunk, hung over and smelling like alcohol. Seems backwards.
