I knew not to go on Monday because the PA DOT Driver's License Center in Enola is closed. It gets hectic on Thursday, Friday, and weekends. I opted for today, a Wednesday. I was in and out within one hour, thanks to Craig, who processed my Real ID documents, and Stacey, the photo lady.

I'm not sure if it would be different on a weekday but it was crazy. If you're going on a Saturday or Sunday, I would get there as SOON as the doors open, or else you will be waiting for literal hours. It's not that the staff isn't working, but surely there's a more efficient way to handle things? Aside from that, the staff was nice! The woman at the end of the first line was checking everyone's documents to make sure they had everything they needed before they took a ticket for the larger waiting room. The process itself to get my real ID took five minutes. I'd recommend going with a full stomach, a book, or taking a friend to chat with/ befriend some other people in line or else it'll move at a snail's pace. Don't be miserable and you'll be fine.

Taxpayer funded employee renews license without asking (I was only there for real ID and license expires over a year from now) and punched a hole in the barcode. Now I have no working ID for "15 Business Days" without a warning. Imagine if I was going out to eat or celebrate in the next 3 weeks? After waiting an hour because they forgot about us, the manager came out to do the parking aspect of the test. I am pretty sure she didn't have an examiner to do the driving aspect of the test so she just plain failed him even though he parked perfectly. When I complained she ended just walking away from us, questioning my sons character! I'm not kidding. It was demeaning and my son was extremely hurt by this. I know about testing in vehicles well, I use to be fast jet aircrew in the military. Our training was the toughest there is. This was, by far, the worst experience I have had in the last few years. Just don't waste your time here. They are rude disorganized and incompetent. Shame on them.

You can only check in 20 min before your scheduled appointment. Checked in right at 3:40. A number spit out. Waited maybe 3 minutes. Got everything done, walked back to my car and it was 3:55pm. This is efficiency and customer friendly service. They do have a 24 hour kiosk available as well. There's also a kiosk in the parking lot for emissions. Lots of parking. There's an information desk and lots of seating. The service representatives are all jolly and happy to help. I watched an employee with a walkie come to the service desk and guide people to actual windows to help move along the line. They are very aware of how valuable your time is. The MVA employee that waited on me was very personable and delightful. She was very attentive and efficient. She explained everything with great detail and it was a super smooth transaction (thanks Lisa). Not what we have all known the MVA to be like in the past. Oh the horror stories and hours of time wasted. This place has a well thought out plan to make sure that people are taken care of quickly and with ease. Sprinkle some attention to super customer service and positive vibes and this is the new MVA that values you as a customer. Well done.
