CDL consultants is a scam. They take I mean steal your money up front. They promise that they can find you a lawyer to represent you for an overweight ticket that I received. I first paid them $450 they said that they would get in contact with me the court date was about 2 weeks out. Then 2 days before my court date and they called me and told me that they could not find a lawyer good luck. The ticket was in Illinois I was in New York there was no way I was going to get there in time. So I called the district clerk and submitted a request to the judge for an extension on my court date. She said it was a gamble but he would take it into consideration ultimately he did. I then started calling around for local attorneys and found one and told them my story and he said that he worked with him all the time. And I told him where they said they couldn't find a lawyer. So I called John at CDL consultants and told him about the lawyer that I had spoken to. So he arranged it that he would be my lawyer then he said well it's going to cost me an extra 200 bucks. So I was kind of puzzled this but I thought you know another $200 and at least I'll have somebody representing me in court. So I said okay the next day I get a receipt from my email stating that it was $250 so John charged me an extra $50 without my consent. So I then told John I want a refund I was well within the lines of getting my refund according to their terms of service. He apologized profusely about the $50 overcharge that it was a mistake. So I sent the email wanting my refund because the lawyer that I talked to said that this particular court will not lower the court fine. So I got an email this morning stating that in fact I was not going to get a refund because it did not meet their terms of service which is BS it damn sure did. So I say to anybody that has read this story that you will absolutely stay away from these people they are scam artists and thieves. They take advantage of you because you're out of state. read more

Since then, we've been calling and emailing nonstop to get updates--no one ever got back to us. Then on Monday, May 5th, we suddenly got a call saying the court fees were due May 4th--after the deadline had already passed! To make things worse, we checked with the court and were told our driver was found guilty by default because neither the driver nor any lawyer showed up. When I told CDL Consulting what the court said, they insisted a lawyer was present, even though I called the court three separate times and was told otherwise every time. Since August last year, I've been trying to solve a problem I had with my CDL, in the state of Illinois, and due to lack of attention or even neglect, I can't solve this situation. First after waiting for about 4 months to set my Court date, I was sent an email with date and time, however, the law firm, sent me someone else's date and time. I was sent a court date in the state of North Caroline. Upon observing this error, I contacted their office and the excuse they gave me was that the employee responsible for my case had left the Company and had done a terrible job. They exchanged the lawyer, who managed to set a new Court date for January 30, 2023. I advised that I would need a translator, but once they made a mistake and did not request a translator in advance and the hearing was canceled and rescheduled for the next 02/03/2023. I've already asked the office to request a translator. Please I need help so nothing is wrong again. I want to remind you that I need my CDL to work. I am unable to work for a few months due to your company's lack of responsibility, I am having a great financial loss and I no longer have the means to pay my bills. Reached out to CDL Consultants to assist with a ticket. They ensured me they had representation in the area I needed. One day prior to the court date, I was notified they don't have anyone and the fee would be an additional $400. We mutually agreed (Agnes the manager and I) on a refund would be issued due to inability to provide services. She explained refunds are issued/ approved on Saturday's. I've patiently waited 6 Saturday's and have yet to receive a refund. I called Agnes (615) 290-5000) and have yet to receive a call back. I called the main number (844-567-5721) and no one answers. When I add *67 and dial the number, a representative answered on the first ring. To date, I have yet to receive a refund and haven't received a return phone call. CONSUMER BEWARE!!! I called around to get a quote on reopening a case in Ohio. After calling local attorneys I called CDL Consultants. I was quoted a price of $250 deposit with a total of $395 or $495 being the grand total and the $250 would towards the total, leaving me with $145 or $245 due upon reopening my case. After putting the $250 down I received a call telling me it would be $1350 with my $250 I owed them $1150. I could not believe such a number when I was quoted something different. The lady I spoke with told me to let her know by the following week if I wanted to go with them they would get an attorney on it. The following week she called me eager to get the ball rolling and I declined. She stated my case was reopen so I could proceed however I'd like with them or another attorney. At this point I already know the process. I could have reopened the case myself for $50. I wanted to pay professionals so I could get a better outcome and get back to work. I called the West Fulton County Ohio courthouse to see if my case was reopen and she stated it was not. Of course the lady I spoke with tried referring me to another employee. I was very frustrated at this point knowing I was just lied to. I was quoted a deposit to reopen the case then a payment in full to enter a plea and try to get the conviction overturned. Same process from all other attorneys also. Mind you I already know this process as I have a best friend that is an attorney with a father in law that is a assistant district attorney in my hometown of Georgia. At this point I want a full refund after being lied to. After being referred to another employee with no resolution, I get a text and a phone call from the processing department. This particular employee heard my explanation and wanted to look into it further by contacting the lady I originally spoke with. She called me back in a few days and got the same story from the original lady that my story did in fact line up with what I was saying. She said she agreed with me that I deserve my refund in full that it would go to a review. The text stated this process would take 7-14 days. Here it is going on day 18 and I'm being ignored. No return phone calls and no return texts. This company has been very unprofessional in every aspect of dealing with them. I will turn to every social media outlet and share my review. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY-- THEY ARE DISHONEST-- VERY UNPROFESSIONAL We contacted CDL Consultants through sales guy Rick Voigt to get assistance with filing for SMP and NOA if it became applicable. Their charge was $1480 payable in 3installments. I paid the first installment. Before they would work on the SMP, they requested paperwork which we provided, but were non-responsive to calls and emails and I expressed concern to Rick. The agent working on my case indicated that it would take another 2week after it had already been over a couple weeks,she insisted that they have the logs audited at extra $350. I told her, I wasn't going to pay extra fee because it was not necessary as I had already reviewed my logs and were accurate. At this time, we received NOA and Rick stated they would charge about a $1000 though it was stipulated in the agreement they would negotiate such with FMCSA at no charge. At this point, I became suspicious. Later, I talked with Rick that I had decided not to proceed with CDL Consultants and requested the refund which he agreed to do as soon as possible. Later, Rick confirmed he had requested the refund to be processed, later emailed back refusing to refund the down payment. Two weeks later, I spoke with Rick and he agreed to process the refund and would talk to the owner of the company. Today, after several emails and phones to Rick Voigt went unanswered and I indicated in one the emails that I would proceed with filing a complaint with FTC and other agencies. A Justin Feyl from CDLConsultants called insisting that they were now ready to file the SMP for us (now 7weeks later after we cancelled service agreement) at which point I told him that we had already filed using another provider who successfully obtained results over 5weeks ago. He then refuses to honor the refund and threatens that he will place a lien on our vehicle for the remainder about a $1000. I find this company that it lacks integrity. They are simply dishonest and they promise and breaks agreement. They wanted to upsell service fraudulently. I have no choice but to give them one star - they deserve no stars. I had two errant tickets in 2 weeks from AR after years of no problems. I was especially suspect of the second ticket (I was in a line of cars all traveling at the speed limit) and called CDL consultants looking for help. After agreeing to pay $500 up front for each ticket, I was contacted again and told that due to difficulty finding an attorney to help, it was going to take another $450 per ticket to get them handled. I reluctantly paid it and found out several months later, after NO communication with the attorney that "represented" me, that I was found guilty. I didn't find this out from the attorney or from CDL Consultants, but from the carrier I work for via it's insurance company. After several calls to CDLC in which I was given the attorney's phone number (I called, left messages and he never returned my call) they basically stonewalled me and I was simply told to pay the fines and to have a good day. read more

On 04/23/2020, I contacted CDL Consulting in order to get them to help with my husbands traffic infractions. I paid $850 over the phone. This morning on 04/27/2020 at 7:56AM, I received a text message notifying me of the assigned attorney to this case. This attorney specializes in Bankruptcy, has several disciplinary actions by a state licensing authority (had his attorney license suspended and had been reprimanded on two separate occasions), has a 1 star AVVO rating and multiple negative reviews. I contacted CDL consultant within one hour of the text message to ask for a refund as the attorney selected is clearly unfit to handle our case. I was told that no refund is possible as they have already retained the attorney. Per their terms and conditions, no refund is possible "if we contacted, hired, and had an attorney file on your case". This attorney has not filed on our case, I haven't signed any forms retaining this attorney, and I find it hard to believe any work had been completed within an hour of attorney selection.
