Doug and his team did an excellent job helping to mount our 55" Sony TV and Soundbar in our basement! My wife wanted a clean look with no wires hanging down the wall. I wanted to make sure it was done correctly and safely. Gabe the technician was very knowledgeable, and ensured he was hanging the TV in the studs. He also explained that the wiring was done up to code. I purchased the mounts through a retailer and when the Soundbar mount didn't work, Gabe & Doug immediately thought of another way to address hanging the Soundbar. Love this team! We hired Buchan Consulting to revamp our house internet connectedness. We had spotty internet connections in the house & our speakers for the tv in our living room & kitchen were not working, the tv wasn't connected to the internet, the printer kept logging off the internet along with all the usual hassles associated with Comcast. Doug gave us a detailed assessment of our situation and explained in detail what he recommended and why, along with the specific products. He followed up with a written quote, which included all the necessary equipment & the labor to install it, and we accepted the bid. About a week later, after he had all the necessary equipment, Doug brought over Rick, who proceeded to start the installation. It was fantastic that Rick could work directly with Comcast to get everything installed for us. Along the way, Rick was able to answer any questions we had and explained the answers in laymen's terms. Later in the day, Doug joined Rick and they finished the job on time. Throughout the process, they were on time, did what they said they were going to do, were knowledgeable, followed up after the fact to see if we needed anything and were very helpful. Found these guys here on Yelp and after reading the reviews decided to give them a call. Initially needed surround sound speakers mounted, spoke with Doug and we talked through the project. He was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly and we setup the install quickly and easily. After more thought, Sonos seemed a better way to go so again spoke to Doug and decided to take the Sonos path with playbar and rear channels. They were able to order the speakers quickly and were flexible with me when we needed to move the install date. Rick was the install tech and he was also very knowledgeable and great to work with. He arrived promptly and walked me through the steps and he finished quickly. These guys are top notch, A+ in every category. Because of their great service and competitive pricing, they found a customer for life. Next we will be deciding on smart home solutions, they sell all the top brands. Also upgrading the tv to OLED and new BDI media cabinet which they also sell. Can't say enough good things, if you're looking for high end AV solutions these are your guys. read more

Gotta say, Doug did a great job and especially bent over backwards to make sure my setup was working. The job was initially just to mount 5.1 surround sound speakers on the wall, but became much more than that as items (not his fault by any means) kept going bad. But he never failed to give great service, come out of his way to either investigate what the problem was or replace the items. And actually, the items were all top notch too! (Sony Receiver, Sony blue ray player). Turns out it was an issue on my end. Still though, Doug never questioned it said "Sure I'll replace them" and came out even on a Sunday morning! If you're doing a major installation, go with Doug / Buchan Consulting. Don't even think about going to a Best Buy's Geek Squad. read more

I messaged Buchan Consulting on Facebook and I got a response from Doug in less than 1 minute. During the next hour, I had many questions, which were all answered thoroughly. I made an appointment for the next day but then when I had to reschedule at the last minute, Doug was more than happy to accommodate me. On the day of the appointment, Doug and his tech arrived on time, were very professional, and got right to work. Once the work was done (added internet wall outlets in various rooms and finished cat 6 cable ends in the basement), I was emailed an invoice with various options to pay electronically, which was very convenient for me. Work went quickly and smoothly. I had two wifi hotspots and several Ethernet lines installed ending in a new router and switch. Everything is working seamlessly. Only issue was that holes weren't completely filled and required a few more skim coats to make smooth. read more

Customer service truly doesn't get better than Doug @ Buchan Consulting! I first met Doug when I requested bids to mount my TV through Amazon service professionals. Doug responded almost immediately, and explained the pro's & cons of how I requested to have it done (there are many limits where I live in crook county) Doug's service was fantastic! He was punctual, professional & polite. Although we ran into many issues mounting my TV, sound bar & cabinet (stud location, obstructions in shared condo wall, missing pieces in TV mount that I had purchased from Amazon) Doug was able to work through them as the absolute pro he is, and had all the tools & parts on-site to complete my job in a quick & timely manner. Rick with Buchan came out to install the soundbar for our new Sonos sound system. He hung it underneath our television on our stone fireplace and it looks and sounds beautiful. I hired Doug to replace my old thermostat with a wireless one using AHS. He was great in communicating the appointment time and date via email, right down to the hour! He arrived on time and was very professional and knowledgeable, especially when it came to wireless networking and SONOS speakers (subjects he offered great advice on while he was working). He did his best to install the thermostat in place of my old one (the wiring wasn't as coded on the panel of my a/c unit, which caused it to be out of scope for the 'replacement' appointment). Even though it was out of scope, he went ahead and spent a long time trying to install it, but didn't want to take the chance of messing anything up, so he put back my old thermostat and recommended I get an electrician or HVAC person out to do the install. I really appreciated his honesty! As a result, he didn't charge me anything for the appointment, even though he spent a considerable amount of time trying to make it work.
