"The Chinatown Bus is the bus only masochists take." - one of my friends…read more Is this bus as cheap as megabus or greyhound? Nope; well, yes on holidays. (Always a fixed $20, one way.) Does this bus have wifi service? Haa. You're funny. Does this bus have friendly service? If you speak Chinese, maybe. Are the seats cramped? I'm 5'3 and petite so nah. My tall friends say otherwise though. Is there a bathroom? Yep, but youre better off destroying your bladder. Are you guaranteed a seat? Only if you're good at wrestling your way through crowds or squeezing through them like me. (On a real note, its not bad. It just depends when you go. Eg. On holiday times, a prepurchased bus ticket dont guarantee you a seat.) So why am I giving this place 4 stars? Why take this bus? It's convinent and flexible. The bus comes every 1.5 hours starting at 8:00am till 10:30 + some extra times (128 Central Ave to NYC) 11 buses in one day! Megabus and greyhound have maybe 4-5 buses each in one day. You can purchase tickets on gotobus.com with a credit card but they don't require you to buy a bus ticket ahead of time. You can just show up and get one (CASH ONLY.) Decided to make a spontaneous trip to the city in the next hour or woke up late and missed the bus you need? The Chinatown bus has got you covered!

Not the best but it does help to past the time and lets you check your emails. Some of the seats are broken. People always snack on the bus. So crumbs galore! Customer service is meh. Never had a problem with the Philadelphia bus but this one is definitely a "don't slow us down" kinda place. But for $20 one way, cheapest option I had for the trip. Took me to walking distance of Albany Med Center which is where I needed to go. Would I take it again...probably. $40 flat and 20 min walking from the hospital. No need for uber.

Fast. Friendly. Reliable. Frequent. Extensive…read more For what its worth, the CDTA as a system, can really get a person around the capital district. Yes like any transit system the CDTA has its faults. I have yet to see another city though the size of the capital area that services neighborhoods so frequently, usually on time and is as high tech as they are. Buses are usually almost always clean, I can always find a seat and their is always ample room to put my bike. Of course more suburban and rural areas get less service, in the city pockets CDTA is more than enough. With my student pass I don't even have to pay for the transit. I don't think enough people utilize the CDTA which is a shame because so many people depend on the CDTA and quite frankly it can save people headaches of having to drive everyone and clog up the roads. my only real complaint is no chargers or wifi on the buses. But with almost 60+ routes its really hard to find a lot of faults with a system that doesn't have to be as robust but really gets the job done at the end of the day. I think people need to realize that in terms of New York State, the CDTA is one of the best systems in the state outside Nassau County and Westchester/Yonkers. So putting it into perspective, the bus system could be a LOT worse. So count your blessings people!

It's been a long long time since I first rode the Albany bus system. I was barely 16 years old and over here in the US on my own, without my parents' knowledge, traveling around the East Coast. I had just hopped off a Greyhound from Montreal, and I was touring the NY State Capital on foot and by bus. Those were good times. I put myself through a lot of strain and physical exertion to see so much of the country, but it was worth it. I remember it very fondly. My experiences on CDTA then, and since, were mostly positive. Some of the drivers are unfriendly. Some of the routes stop running way too early. And some of the buses are a little old and in need of a facelift. But on the whole it's good, and not too expensive (lasy time I rode it anyway, and before), so a solid 4 from me. I'd rather ride a train, but I C.D.T.A. = Can't Do Trains Anyway.

He took such good care of our group of 20+. He even made sure we all got home safely. What a great ride! Super clean, super fun, fun lights and loud music. Who could ask for a better birthday celebration? I highly recommend!! I would post more photos of the inside but I didn't get any without people doing things. So fun! If you are thinking of booking with Royal Transportation for any limousine or shuttle services,…read moreDON'T DO IT!! I booked a 32-passenger shuttle with them in January for my daughter's wedding in June. Arrangements were made for pick up and drop offs between two different hotels and the venue. A WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING, they called to tell me that the shuttle that they booked for me had an engine issue and was no longer available. (NOTE: It was Belmont weekend). They proceeded to say it would not be fixed in time and their only remedy was either an actual yellow school bus, a 3-passenger car or cancellation of the reservation. As we had already communicated to our guests that shuttle service was available, this was beyond unacceptable. Meaghan, who I spoke to was curt, rude and insensitive annd spoke at a very fast pace and just wanted me to decide quickly on one of the options. Needless to say, I had to scramble to find a friend that had a vehicle that could only accommodate 7 people and would have to do multiple trips back and forth. I truly believe there wasn't an issue with the vehicle, they just wanted to book it with another larger party that needed it for Belmont, likely higher fees. They had already gouged me in January on the rate by double charging me due to Belmont. Anyone who can just randomly do that with no regard for the impact on such an important day as a wedding, is in my opinion very unprofessional and shouldn't be in business. They should have tried to obtain a vehicle from somewhere else. A simple apology doesn't cut it in this situation!
