Let's just talk about the food, never mind the location or the ambiance. This is your typical street food that what matters the most is the cleanliness, flavor and tastiness of the lechon (roasted pig). Their pork belly is one of a kind. Tender, juicy, crispy and absolutely full of flavor. The hanging rice was also something I've missed. There's a hint of banana leaf (clean flavor) and scent in the rice. It's not as compact as I remembered though, this one sort of falls off which was a bit of a disappointment. They provide benches and tables for those who wants to eat there. But it's outdoor. They also provide plastic gloves for those who want to use their hands to eat. It's kind of fun because that's something new to me. In the old days, you just eat with your hands and just wash before and after. They still provide hand washing center though so no worries. Overall, a fun eat. Get yo glove on and order up a kilo of that killa belly! On my first visit, didn't know what to expect. Then they handed me a plate of boneless lechon and a plastic glove and I immediately understood. By the third visit in three days I was pretty hooked. High highs and medium lows. I've been coming to this place since I first moved to Cebu. Depending on the time of the day, or how recently it's cooked, the lechon belly's quality can vary quite differently. At its best, 'Cebu's Original Lechon Belly' is second to none. But the drawback is that they're not always serving the highest quality that they're capable of. This is probably due to the fact that at differing times of the day, their servings will have differing freshness, and the longer the pork is off the grill, the less crispy the skin is and the less tasty it is. Definitely top 3 of Cebu's lechon places. Flavor in the spicy lechon is a must see for first timers exploring the lechon style of Cebu. Cebu's Original Lechon Belly does a kamayan style (eating with your hands) dinning. I found it to be fun being from the states, giving an alternative authentic Filipino feel, with banana leaves and all. Don't worry neat freaks, the kamayan dinning comes with gloves! Cebu City is known for their tasty lechon and if you want to sample one of the best (atleast in my opinion), then this is where you should go! Cebu's Original Lechon Belly offers both original and spicy versions of the fabled roasted pig. There are other things in the menu like the corned beef stew that's just as delicious as the lechon. Don't worry about the price too much as it's definitely worth it. Expect to pay around php500.00 for 1/2 kilo lechon, 1.5L aoda and then some puso (steamed rice in a ball of coconut leaves). This is one of my favorite lechon places. They have a spicy lechon (something different) which I probably like more and it seems to be popular with locals (always a better sign). I also noticed that the lechon is served without cutlery but with a glove for eating, so it feels a lot more authentic (while still maintaining hygene) read more

Having been to the Philippines and now Cebu on a number of occasions, my hosts decided that it was time I try lechon (boneless pork belly--a Cebu specialty). It looks like a fast food joint, with few tables and hard booths--and an outpost downstairs where you can eat on stools outside, facing the parking lot of the Time Square complex. On the menu: lechon, lechon, lechon. And bottomless servings of rice. Like a fast food place, it's served quickly from behind a counter, and with disposable packaging: straw "plates" on which to place your round wax paper cut-out and, oddly, plastic gloves. Lechon, which is traditionally eaten with bare hands, left workers' fingers greasy after lunch breaks so, following complaints, the restaurant decided to issue thin gloves to its customers. Many of the locals in the restaurant (not on their lunch break, and with their families) decided to forego the gloves. We, seriously considering a karaoke night afterwards, decided to use them. The issue with the gloves is that, once you've helped yourself to rice (steamed and served in woven banana leaf pods) and that scrumptiously greasy lechon (I wasn't a fan of the skin and thick layer of fat that came with each piece, but even if you avoid those it gets oily), your gloves lose all manner of grip and you have trouble opening your subsequent rice pods. First Lechon experience in the Philippines and it was probably the tastiest! According to the locals, Cebu Lechon are cooked with spices and aromatics while Manilla Lechon is usually without the spices/aromatics and they use a dipping sauce for flavoring. At Lechon Belly, they serve the belly of the pork and have two options: original and spicy. The spicy is a must, but fair warning, will leave a lasting tingling feeling on the lips for awhile (that is, until you get some shaved snow!) As a foreigner I find the boneless meat very convenient. The skin is a nice spicy flavor that does not take away from the whole meal. Silverware is provided but eating with your hands is a bit more traditional. If you do not want your hands getting greasy plastic gloves are provided as well. I cannot give this a five star rating since it is a little expensive by Filipino standards but I do not think you can find this around your local markets.
