Alright... you're rolling through Cebu, Philippines... and your feed keeps screaming about this…read morespot. No white tablecloths. No reservations. Just smoke, sizzling oil, and a crowd that knows exactly what's up. So yeah... we had to pull up. This is Punko-Punko sa Fuente. Street food chaos--in the best possible way. Here's how it works. You walk up to this table stacked with a glorious, borderline dangerous pile of fried goodness. No menus. No fuss. You point at what you want. The person running the table grabs it, chops it into bite-sized pieces right in front of you, and hands it back like it's street gold. You grab some rice--wrapped in these heart-shaped woven coconut leaves--dip everything into that sharp, punchy vinegar sauce... and now you're eating the way Cebu wants you to eat. First up--Chicharon Bulaklak. Crispy. Chewy. Salty in all the right ways. This thing hits like a late-night food dream. 9.5 outta 10. Then the Liempo. Thin strips, but still thick enough to get that porky texture. Juicy. Perfectly seasoned. No nonsense. Solid 9 outta 10. Next--Lumpiang Shanghai. Golden. Crunchy. That crisp snap when you bite in? Yeah... it's there. Filling is rich, savory, comforting. 8.9. Then the Stuffed Crab. The filling? I love it. Crab's there, veggies are there. Maybe a little more veggie than I'd like--but hey, some people might swear by it. 7.7. But the sleeper hit? The egg with veggies. Hard-boiled egg wrapped in this veggie mixture and fried until the outside's got attitude. The combo just works. Unexpected. Bold. Delicious. 9.5 easy. This place? No frills. No filters. Just Cebu street food doing what it does best--big flavor, fast hands, and zero apologies. If you're ever in Cebu... do yourself a favor. Pull up a stool. Grab some vinegar. And get messy.

I understand the hype. Pungko-Pungko sa Frente certainly knows how to put on a show, with loud…read morecalls, energetic staff, and tables piled high with food. The lively presentation draws people in, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the performance. The thin-sliced pork chops looked as though they should have been the highlight--looked crispy and crunchy like chicharrones. Instead, they were tough and seemed undercooked. Biting into the pork chop skin was like chewing on shoe leather. They were nowhere near the crisp, crunchy texture I expected. The Shanghai lumpia had almost no filling, consisting mostly of a soggy wrapper and oil. The crab cakes served in the shell didn't seem to contain any crab either--just potato and jicama. And the meatballs would be more accurately described as a jicama balls. The rice puso was cold, bland, and dry. At first, I wondered whether that was simply how it was meant to be, but it made the meal even less enjoyable. The chicharron bulaklak was another disappointment. It didn't seem properly prepared and had an unpleasant aftertaste. Overall, it looks like a fun experience, but the meal finished flat. The atmosphere and presentation are entertaining, but the food itself didn't deliver. Not recommended. 2 stars.

I hate writing bad reviews but in my dismay and big disappointment I have to let the management…read moreknow what we have experienced . Fast forward , on May 11 ,2026 on our way to Clark we stopped by Zubuchon to get 1 and half kl. of lechon as our pasalubong to our pamangkins. The lechon was packed separately . One box is 1 kl and another half in the other box . Our total Travel time is 2:00 hrs to get to our destination. Unfortunately , when we asked our pamangkins if they enjoy the lechon and they all said , it's taste different na , malagkit , may laway-laway at amoy panis at lasang panis. In fact, after tasting they all experience stomachache: For 2,345 pesos for just the lechon our moneys gone . It's all go wasted !!! Disgusting!!! We were shocked to hear such unacceptable , unbelievable experience . How could we travel and bring such a good food from Cebu to share to our families if the food is spoiled . To the management : Please address the issue seriously and please promote food proper handling . This can be cause of food cross contamination , food borne illness and food safety and to be safe with all your costumers . People be aware . I don't want anyone will experience the same what we have experience . People , please be mindful and careful . Please execute and comply food proper handling and food safety. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!! I could have put zero star because of my big disappointment.

Skip Jollibee and eat at Zubuchon instead while waiting for your flight at the Cebu Airport. We…read morewere so happy to see a Zubuchon location here, since we instantly became fans of it while visiting Cebu. Zubuchon had a solid menu, with a good amount of different items with their signature roasted pig, bone-in or boneless. Bae and I both ordered the boneless plate, which came with a side of white rice and papaya salad. Meat was incredibly tender, going beyond airport standards. Plus, there was the crispy pig skin that ya gotta have with your lechon. Papaya salad with ginger was a good addition, providing a sour but complementary flavor to the roasted lechon. If only all airports could have food this good. Located in the domestic terminal, Zubuchon is a great eatery, giving you a taste of what Cebu has to offer! There were some dining tables and chairs right in front of the eatery, but it's communal dining with the other nearby eateries and shops. Zubuchon was the best way to say good-bye to Cebu.
