When the shop returned the mower to us, when I turned it on and let out the clutch, it was making a loud scraping noise that was definitely not there before. Also, they had left the cable that engages the blades on top of the foot rest, not properly stowed away. I sent the mower back to be fixed properly. I was told that I would have to pay for changing some pulleys, which (they say) were making the noise. I also ended up having to pay for a second delivery. They did not tell me, after the first delivery, about the scraping sound, and wanted me to believe that they thought I didn't care about it because I hadn't mentioned the problem when I first called. Well, the problem wasn't there when I first called. I don't see how the pulleys could have become worn so quickly as to make the noise between the time we first gave them the mower and the time it was first delivered. We received back the pulleys the shop had replaced, along with the second delivery, and they seemed to turn quietly enough on their own. It looks to us as if the shop somehow caused the problem and made us pay for it. As for delivering the mower with cable sticking out, that was just bizarre and professional. The delivery person was reluctant to acknowledge the obvious problems, and was going to take the mower without giving me a receipt, and the repair guy was argumentative and didn't bother to acknowledge the cable problem at all. We ended up paying $270 to fix a simple linkage problem. Will never go back. Wish the review could be better.

This place has been on my radar for years, and I finally had a chance to check it out yesterday…read morewhile attending a class on making your own soap! They offer many classes for a small fee in regards to homesteading - raising chickens, creating/using herbal remedies, and making soap are just a few. You don't have to have a farm to find something interesting here! There are products for sale for gardening, composting, canning, soap making, farming/animal husbandry, fermenting, and homemade body products. They also have a freezer section with local meat and eggs, if you are looking to purchase locally grown foods. There is a surprising amount of usable/collectible vintage and ceramic items as well, like cast iron skillets, fermentation crocks, butter churns, and linens. The owners are super friendly and willing to help with any questions. By purchasing items here instead of Tractor Supply, Lowe's, etc, you are helping to support a local business, so keep that in mind if prices are slightly higher than a chain store. Come check this place out, and maybe even learn a new skill!
