Since he doesn't sell any contacts or eyeglasses, he doesn't have a stake in pushing a certain brand. He gave me plenty of samples so I could decide between the disposable contacts and 2 week contacts. He gives a 15 percent discount for those with Tricare. I needed a copy of my bill in order to get the reimbursement from Acuvue for purchasing contacts and the receptionist promptly emailed me a copy. According to his website, Dr. Wong is now full time at his Fredericksburg office. Northern Virginia is missing out!

What was left out of the explanation was: 1) How dry my eyes would be and that I would have to use expensive Eye drops for the rest of my life to counteract the dryness, 2) That my vision up close and mid-range (to read my laptop) would now require reading glasses. So, I was basically trading off having to use glasses to see at distance; to having to use glasses for up close reading and mid-range reading. In all the procedure was painless although expensive, I saved for two years for this procedure. If you were to ask me if I would do it again? The answer would be no; due to the lifelong side effects of the poor up close vision and having to use expensive eye drops several times a day. Remember this is one man's experience and other people's experience may differ.

It has become extremely difficult to schedule appointments with Dr. Hinkle or Dr. Boyle. After waiting weeks, we've arrived for appointments only to be told they were canceled without notice. Additionally, the front office staff is often rude and make simple questions feel like an inconvenience. The newer staff responsible for fitting glasses also do not seem to take the time to properly ensure a correct fit. This has been very disappointing given the level of care we experienced in the past. Unfortunately, today was the tipping point and we will not be back.

When one purchases glasses from them, they take excellent care of any repair needs in a timely and most cost effective way often for free as part of their customer service. For example, I have taken in glasses occasionally that were pretty badly bent after accidentally sitting on them and they were able to straighten out the glasses good as new right on the spot. Also, in this shop, when it is a quick repair, you can watch them work on your glasses...pretty amazing craftsmen. Friendly, professional, personable, and tend to remember who you are as a regular customer. I very much enjoy going there to purchase and repair my glasses. By the way, nice selection of glasses.
