First - this is an amazing park…read more 1. Soccer fields everywhere!!! 2. Cricket, I walk by on the weekends and watch the matches - i miss cricket! 3. The walking trails are well maintained and both bikers and walkers are friendly! This is an amazing park. With indoor tennis, indoor pool as well as outdoor tennis, and outdoor pool. A water recreation area. Soccer fields and baseball/softball diamonds as well as a huge picnic area. This part has something from everyone! It was windy while i was walking in the park. But, the people were still out watching their kids play soccer! Some friends and I went for a hike on a Sunday morning and while the website says they might charge you a few dollars for parking, we didn't see anyone at the gate house and no one asked us. At the Ranger station, the bathrooms were very clean, quite warm actually, and there was a couple of interesting habitat exhibits. Just a really well run state park with lots of activities. They even had a station where you can get free firewood, and build a little fire.

As a drive thru only lights show, it was interactive with different "movement" lights like a gingerbread man doing cartwheels, fish jumping, or presents tossed by teddy bears and Santa. My toddler absolutely loved the lights and it was especially nice to still be in the warm comfort of your car. It was about a 15-20 minute slow ride around the venue, and most of the drivers kept their distance from each other so you didn't feel rushed. Pricing wasn't bad either - $15 for one car (unlimited occupancy) on a weeknight. I recommend going closer to the start of the event time, as by the time we were leaving, there were quite a line of cars coming in. There's also porta potties near the ticket check gate to pull off and use the restroom or stretch before heading in/out.

From the pictures on Yelp I expected the scene to be a bit more of lush greenery and even maybe some rose bushes. When I went to the park, it was a bit more barren and ides of winter than I was hoping for. That being said, the quaint little cozy stroll of a park is located right in old town Gaithersburg behind a large apartment complex that I'm CERTAIN gets its fill of it during the spring and summer. The park has AMPLE amounts of seating. Bench swings line the entry path which also has a little pavillion that could host a number of different happenings - first thoughts go to band stand. Then on the path you find a circled group of seats that evoke King arthur and the knights of the roundtable vibes. Most especially because the head chair at 12 o clock - crafted of large branches can only be considered a throne of sorts. Stroll further in the park and you find a lengthy sand village, complete with miniature log houses, outlined in stumps, and to me gives off the impression of a Japanese sandy zen garden. There are 2 slides built into the side of a hill that tempt the childhood in me. And another large sunken circular pit that has tree stumps to sit in. At the end of a garden is a water pump that has a little downspout into a creek. Of course... I tried the waterpump and the well was unfortunately dry. But, as a kid I could only imagine the fun when it's really going. It seems like Constitution Gardens has the potential of a young nation that just asserted its independence from its empire. I really pray that it's somewhat untended to current condition is just it's current hibernation phase from the winter. Because man oh man can you just imagine the fun that kids would have here, and the VARIOUS spots that parents could congregate and come together for rich and vibrant conversations about their community. I will go back to the gardens later in the Spring to see if it's lived up to it's inherent potential. I truly can't wait.

I've really enjoyed each visit I have had at Little Bennett…read more If you need some fresh air and want to be in a peaceful environment but do not want to drive too far out of the city this is a great place to go. It is located pretty close off the highway which is convenient when coming here. They have nice camping grounds and plenty of hiking trails. If you expect to get a mountain peak picture or to see a waterfall this is not your place, it is just standard woods here. The trails are maintained well, you will not have to walk through any areas that have been overgrown with bush. The trails are pretty easy since it is not climbing a mountain. Highly recommend coming here if you live in the area.

I would actually have given this 5 stars, but …read more.. OK, the good? Beautiful grounds, spacious campsites, immaculate upkeep. Fun, free stuff for kids like the giant jump pillow and pedal kart track, plus some games (although one never happened, more later) and crafts. Lovely - and I do mean LOVELY - staff members. Not so good? The game that never happened - they have a thing called Gaga Ball, and we were told it would take place "around 3" on Saturday. We went and waited close to 45 minutes and the staff member never showed up. Luckily, DGD was happy to bounce endlessly on the Giant Pillow, but the short-staffed situation gives rise to disappointment. Secondly, the trails map!!! OMG what a disaster. We had the Montgomery County Regional Parks version, and the Little Bennett version, and they did not agree. Moreover, there are additional (?) trails that aren't shown, so it's really, REALLY easy to get mixed up. I'm a very seasoned hiker and still had trouble navigating to where we wanted to be. Also, we would never let my precious grandchildren ride their bikes here. Even on our loop, it wasn't especially safe, and on the main road? Forget it! Even if people actually drove the speed limit (yeah, right), the roads are narrow with not great visibility. Hence the one star deduction. I must say again, the campsites are spacious - I absolutely love that! But here are some tips, from just driving around to see everything: Loop B has no bathhouse/restroom facility. Really, those folks had to hike to Loop C bathhouse (where we were). The bathhouse on Loop A is located kind of close to the main road, so if you choose a site farther along the loop, you'll be hiking to go potty! Loop C was very nice, although weirdly the noise of the highway seemed especially loud at night. All in all, this is a very nice, very well maintained campground. The main reason we won't visit again is that the kiddos really need more to do, like fly kites, ride bikes, splash in water, etc., and this is not the place for those activities.

You can't count on water or waste bags always being available, so bring your own. It would be better if there were a handicap accessible parking area with a clear view of the dog area from the car.

Dawson Farm Park is a great little local park with lots of amenities for locals. There is a…read moreplayground for children, a gazebo for cookouts, a creek to play in, and plenty of picnic tables. It is also nearby to the local high school, so there's plenty of space for pregame activities and summer fun in the sun. What really sets this park apart is the amount of shade received by the old growth trees. You can enjoy a summertime lunch in the shade without having to worry about the heat. It also has a close proximity to several other parks, making it a great waypoint for your bicycle or running trips, and also as a quick shortcut from the high school to the main neighborhoods. Stop on by and play around-this is a great local park. I especially love the historic nature and history of this park; this was the location of one of the first farms (or one of the oldest farms) that still relatable to Rockville today. You can read all about the Dawson family and their farm at some of the historic Education signs you'll find detailing the history around the park. So if you've got some time to kill and just want to relax, or if you want to learn a little bit about the history of the Rockville area, come on over to Dawson Farm Park and you'll get plenty of both.

It offered no bathroom facilities that I could see and was not lit at night-time (for better or worse), but it is quite a pleasant little space in the daytime.
