The availability of lessons for all levels, the attentive coaching staff, and pristine indoor tennis facility make A Plus Tennis a great value. My only area of suggested improvement is increasing the availability of slots as we were on a waiting list for months as newcomers to the area.

You can have contract time (reserve and pay ahead for the same court, same day and time for whatever a particular length of time), or call ahead 48 hours and reserve one (or do online). Easy - affordable - friendly - knowledgeable! So happy to have found them!

But, they have a complete fitness gym, pilates and yoga studios, aerobics classes, spin classes, aquatic classes, personal trainers, and more. Our yoga community is very supportive, so I am always encouraged to go to class even when it's cold out or raining, etc. I am a "senior" & so there is something there for people of all ages. We have a 85-year old who regularly comes to yoga with the rest of us. But, the kids can play basketball or tennis, work-out in the gym, or swim in the pool.

And very important in Bethesda, covered "free" parking. Desk staff, trainers and general manager are friendly and helpful. Almost forgot: Sauna, steam, whirlpool, swimming pool. Complaints: The stream room takes too long to repair; the whirlpool can look dirty, especially after a busy weekend. Sometimes they run out of towels.

The Y center is a great option for pickleball in the Arlington area. The associate executive…read moredirector is supportive of the program, listens to feedback, and continues to do what she can to make adjustments to address the evolving needs of the community. At the Y, there are six pickleball courts, striped over three tennis courts. Court surface is great compared to other courts in the Arlington area. There are times/options for all level of play and many sessions are marked for specific levels of play so you know what you're signing up for. It does occasionally struggle with HVAC issues but they address it as much as they can, considering the age of the facility. But they are planning a renovation/new facility, so that's great. And consistent with many pickleball communities, the Y's efforts - drop-ins, tournaments, WhatsApp groups, etc. - have fostered a great community.
