The receptionist at the family waiting area was very sweet and kept us updated on our patient, his surgeons were very nice and explained everything in detail. They gave him an anti anxiety medication to help calm his nerves, and also gave him an anti nausea patch. The transportation guy, Malcolm, was also very sweet and gentle with him. Shoutout to Aaron who is a doctor in the post op center. We were there all day and the vibes were nice and comfortable.

Now my wife went there for a second opinion on open heart surgery and guess what? No one I mean NO ONE has gotten back to her yet 7 months later and the excuse they all use is I'm waiting on your medical records. I can be treated like crap for free I don't need to pay for it. If you value your life and you are hell bent on coming here stay on them because if you don't they will forget all about you. And, before you ask I have one of the best insurances in the country, so getting paid was not a problem. In closing there are too many sick people and not enough doctors to take care of all of them and it's so easy at RUSH to fall through the cracks. A side note my primary care doctor was AWESOME Dr. Austin ( in Indiana small clinic) very very professional.

I would like to formally express my concerns regarding the care provided by Dr. Sarah R. Jorgenson…read more Over the course of my mother's care, it has been extremely difficult to obtain timely appointments with Dr. Jorgenson. She is frequently unavailable, and appointments are repeatedly rescheduled by the office to other physicians within the same network because she is unavailable. In addition, messages often go unanswered, making it very difficult to communicate regarding important medical issues. My greatest concern occurred today when Dr. Jorgenson refused to authorize a refill of my mother's high blood pressure medication. My mother is 84 years old and has a history of hypertension. At the time the refill was denied, she had completely run out of her medication. T he reason given was that my mother had not been seen in one to two years. However, this is inaccurate. We have been to the office at least twice during 2026. On multiple occasions, appointments originally scheduled with Dr. Jorgenson were rescheduled by the office because she was unavailable. It is unfair for my mother to be denied essential medication due to circumstances beyond her control. The pharmacist at our local pharmacy also expressed concern about the situation, stating that abruptly discontinuing blood pressure medication in an elderly patient could place her at unnecessary medical risk. Despite this, we were told that no refill would be provided and that my mother would have to wait until her next appointment on July 14 before receiving her medication. I find this situation deeply concerning. Denying an 84-year-old patient access to essential blood pressure medication while requiring her to wait weeks for an appointment raises serious concerns about continuity of care and patient safety. I advise you all to be careful. Specially lf your elderly individuals with chronic medical conditions--or your Children's are been seen and put at risk by careless this individuals.

Seems like the only type of care HBHC provides comes in a form of a fee/bill, then they care! I needed life saving medication and was told by my pharmacy that they had sent in numerous prescription refills request to no response and I would not be able to get my medication and they seemed truly genuine- this is Walgreens y'all. I was upset and called in to my Dr's office was told okay well send this one in but you need to schedule a drs appointment, I agreed. I went back to Walgreens the next day and to another MF surprise the request was still no response from MF Howard Brown HC, that set me off! I quickly called HBHC and was told yeah no sorry not going to happen until we see you, how what why?! Sir your office told me they were doing 1 more refill- yeah no sorry. I hung up and scheduled a dr with RUSH and based on my experience with HBHC they're seeing me next week. Never recommend this place to family if they matter to you

It's miserable especially the HOURS WAIT on hold to EVEN talk to someone and then when it finally goes to the proper person, like the dental office which doesn't even have a separate dedicated number, you have to reach the operator first after a few hours on hold, and then you tell them you need to speak to the dental office so they transfer your call and it goes to the dental office phone line and then they never pick up. The in person experience at the front desk: Every time I go the front desk people are chatting about who is f*cking whom, where to party, where to eat, and they're actively ignoring the phone lines AND the people in front of them standing there 2 feet away waiting to check in or with questions. Literally standing in front of them. Then they look at you and pass you off to the other two people sitting there because they don't want to help you and then one of those two people doesn't want to help you check in or make an appointment, you're passed around like three day old fish right in front of them--they just want to gossip about who's dating or f*cking whom. The clinic experience with staff: When you go into their office, the guys and girls are UH-GAIN talking about who's f*cking whom on the 4th floor of the Halsted clinic or who wants to get with who or where's the party at or just plain gossip nonstop. OH MY GOD. Why are they obsessed with who is attractive, who is asking who on a date, who people are having sex with, who is getting some, who is not getting any, who can get who's number, who is loose, oh my God. Please. This is a clinic. Don't get me started on what they say about patients when you pass by them, they look at you up and down, scope you out, then they talk about your as* or junk, I know this because I went back to get a hat 15 seconds later and they were talking about my body. I'm a patient! Pure straight up classless. So the phone hold and the clinics. I mean, THEY'RE SPENDING SO MUCH TIME F*CKING AFTER WORK OR TALKING ABOUT WHO THEY WANT TO F*CK WHILE ON THE CLOCK AT WORK, THEY AREN'T DOING THEIR JOBS! Literally. GET THE PHONE LINES DOWN SO WE AREN'T ON HOLD FOR HOURS AND THEN TRANSFERRED AND NO ONE PICKS UP. FRONT DESK PEOPLE, PLEASE DO YOUR JOBS AND STOP GOSSIPING ALL DAY. These are patients, it's a health care clinic, not a bar or club.

I was on my way to a gig when my sister called, frantic our other sister, who was visiting for the weekend, had suddenly fallen ill and was taken to Mercy Hospital. I dropped everything and headed there right away. When I arrived, there was confusion about visitors, and my sister was asked to leave so they could treat our patient. When I was finally allowed back, I was alarmed by what I saw: my sister was unconscious, foaming at the mouth, and lying on her back with no doctor or nurse in the room. I immediately turned her on her side so she wouldn't choke. After waiting about 10 minutes with no staff checking in, I went to find help. Nurses in the area couldn't tell me who was assigned to her, and I was given paper towels to manage her condition myself. After about 30 more minutes, I finally found a nurse at the desk who said she was assigned to my sister. When I asked why no one had come to check on her, I was told my sister had been "extra drunk," combative, and had spit on staff so they essentially left her there. Despite this, she had still not received fluids or proper care. The nurse also mentioned her shift was ending soon and that someone else would take over. However, another hour and a half passed with no one checking on my sister. Eventually, a doctor briefly stopped by and said she would wake up in a few hours pending toxicology. When my sister finally regained consciousness, she was disoriented, confused, and not behaving normally. It took multiple attempts just to get assistance for something as basic as helping her to the restroom. At that point, it had been over four hours with little to no care. We requested a toxicology report, especially since her symptoms suggested she may have been drugged. Although blood had apparently been drawn (there were even remnants left in the room), we never received any results. The room itself was also concerning there were gnats and visible lack of cleanliness. When a new nurse came on shift, the attitude was dismissive. We were told we could leave, even though my sister clearly wasn't stable. When asked to collect a urine sample, the nurse refused to assist and said it was only being done to "satisfy" us. We complied anyway, but to this day, we have not received any follow-up or results. This was one of the most neglectful medical experiences I've ever witnessed. My sister could have choked on her own vomit. Over the 4-5 hours we were there, I don't believe her assigned nurse ever once checked on her in the room. Thankfully, we were there to advocate for her but that shouldn't be necessary for someone to receive basic care. I'm sharing this because no family should have to go through something like this. I truly hope Mercy Hospital takes steps to improve patient care and accountability so this doesn't happen to someone else.

At the front information desk, I have sometimes felt dismissed or spoken to harshly when asking for directions or clarification, especially when I mentioned that I had visited before but needed reminders due to medical issues and medication-related brain fog. During some specialist visits, I felt that my responses were not fully acknowledged when I answered questions in ways that were unexpected. This left me concerned that parts of my medical information may not have been clearly reflected in my records. I have also struggled to get assistance from the Galter Life Center. Despite having a referral from my specialists, I have not been able to schedule an appointment or receive clear guidance through in-person visits, phone calls, or email. Additionally, I have attempted to contact Patient Experience and Advocacy several times but have not received responses to my calls or messages. When the system moved to NorthShoreConnect, I hoped communication would improve, but many of my messages there have also gone unanswered. Because of these experiences, I personally feel that my concerns have not been addressed adequately, and I would encourage others to carefully consider their options when seeking care.
