TLDR: We would highly recommend! Very happy with the service and would hire them again. Happy to talk with potential clients about our experience. Cedar Falls Tree service just took down a LARGE Spruce in our front yard--a few feet in diameter at the base. They did what they said they'd do, when they said they'd do it and were very pleasant to work with. Ahead of time, they let me know exactly what to expect and which plants I'd need to move to protect (I had a bunch of daffodils and tulips coming up around the tree) and where I'd need to move them. On the day of, they brought a 3 man crew and all the equipment needed. They showed up on time and worked on it most of the day. They also covered a few of my shrubs to protect them when the branches were coming down close. They were also careful around our gas line and the storm drain that's on the edge of our property. They cleaned up all the branches and even took care of a few branches that we had in the yard already. After they used their leaf blower my driveway was cleaner after they left than before they arrived! They hauled away the wood that we didn't want and left a tidy pile of 16" cut rounds that we'll use for firewood. My brother in law asked for a specific size chopping block and they cut 3 for him to choose from! When a part of their stump grinder broke before the stump was gone, they let us know what was going on and promised to come back then next day to finish. The next day was miserably rainy and he came back and finished the work! The stump was HUGE--raised roots going out over 10 feet, and now it's a pile of chips. I told him I wanted to plant a new tree and he did his best to make sure there was a good spot. If we have another tree that needs to come down, I don't feel like I'd need to get a dozen quotes like I did this time. read more

Recently I had to cut down some large pines, which had exceeded their safe handling limits standing in close proximity to residences. Through the internet and a neighhor referral I got in contact with Chris and Cedar Falls Tree Service. Chris impressed me with his knowledge of local trees and left me with advise and a quote. I accepted and the work to began a few days later. There was work for 2 full days and a lot of work and I watched Chris and his team working non-stop for those 2 days. Directly under some of the trees there was a garden-shed, there were also fences with neighbor's irrigation, which I was keen on not seeing damages. Under Chris's guidance the team led the heavy branches away into safe areas, safing numerous small pretty bushes that had settled around the trees. The climbing arborist David, he was an artist, he could drop the falling logs of the over 140 feet pines with pin-point accuracy just in the spot where he wanted them. During the whole 2 days the team worked as a close unit, where every one knew exactly what needed to be done: cutting branches, cleaning up the litter, shredding, and finally the logging of the large tree trunks. It was a pleasure to watch the professionalism and the dedication of Chris's team at Cedar Falls Tree Service until in the end they had everything cleaned up again. Cedar Falls removed a dead 130' + tall hemlock just 12' feet from the house without incident. They took down in sections, bucked up, chipped all the branches and hauled off. Professional job and the lowest of four bids I received. Next time I'm calling them first. read more
