As always, Cedar Grove Gardens delivered beautiful flowers just as ordered and on schedule. I had ordered five centerpieces and two very small bouquets for an event over this Thanksgiving weekend, and left the choice of seasonal flowers up to Richard. When I arrived at the event venue, the flowers were already on the tables -- and they were gorgeous! Folks practically arm-wrestled after the event to get to take home one of the centerpieces! Based on my inquiries at a couple of other florists located closer to downtown Boston, I felt that Cedar Grove Gardens provided excellent value at a fair price. read more

Showed up here to replace my summer outdoor flowers that died. Someone came out to help me, gave me some good ideas for replanting and showed me the seasonal options. All their summer flowers were on super sale! I got 5 small pots of colorful flowers plus a gorgeous array of mums for 18 bucks, you can't beat that! I also went inside to check it out, and there was a whole hallways of gorgeous houseplants! (Pictured below). There were also tons of cutesey gift shop items that all felt very local. I was trying to find a local gift shop to grab a few cards to send out and this place happened to be nearby. I was hesitant because they're heavily marketed as a flower shop, but I called in advance and said they had greeting cards. There's really only street parking, but it wasn't hard to snag a spot. The entire outside is covered in a beautiful selection of plants for you to cover your garden in! They also had knowledgeable staff outside that I could overhear telling people about which plants would best suit their needs and color schemes. Inside is an adorable gift shop. Very eclectic and largely local, they have a lot of things I would've definitely purchased as gifts if I'd been in the market... although I did end up treating myself to a few items in addition to the greeting cards I'd stopped by for. Can't wait to come back! Their cut flowers and arrangements that they were making also looked gorgeous... I might have to hint at my fiancé or splurge very soon :) read more

Nice find thanks to YELP!!!! Needed some flowers for a funeral at the last minute and bumped into this page. Called over the phone about an hour before they closed and needed flowers for 10am and after a brief hold they were on it. I was able to get everything I asked for and delivered when I got there. Very patient with me and walked me step by step through everything. They had multiple price points and the arraignments came out beautiful! I would recommend them to other people. They had a bunch of stuff on display and sorry but the guy in me said "go ahead, I trust you. Do it your way!" And they sure didn't disappoint!! Great service all around! read more

They have so many varieties, but I had to go for the one my heart beats for: the peony. And for that I paid the price. To the tune of $13 bucks for one peony and two daisies. I love peonies, but let's be real here. The word is over, and ends with priced. Last Sunday morning, I tried ordering same day flowers online from " Same Day Flowers/ Wesley Berry" for a friend's grandmother's wake. The company never delivered the flowers, nor did they return my calls or emails. I panicked. Buying the flowers was a last minute decision because the family said to make a donation in lieu of flowers. I decided that I wanted to send flowers as well. It came down to literally 40 minutes before the wake (and Cedar Groves closing time). I called Cedar Grove Gardens half on reviews, and half due to their proximity to the wake. They really came through for me. I got to the wake a few minutes early, and my floral arrangement was already there. It was what I asked for: simple and elegant. The owner himself drove it over to ensure it was received by the time of the wake. I cannot comment on their in-person selection, but I will say that it is stellar customer service for a company to perform like this. I called them 40 minutes from their close and the wake. They could've easily said, "Sorry, no," and I wouldn't have blamed them. Most places would have, but they didn't. That is a company that actually cares... I look forward to visitng the shop in person some day! read more

I don't know where to begin to even find the words to adequately express the heroism that Cedar Grove Gardens performed for us. We travelled to Boston from California for my sisters wedding, we had been talking to this florist for a while, and she cancelled on us less than 24 hours before the wedding. I called Lisa at Cedar Grove nearly in tears explaining our situation. Immediately Lisa saved us with so much more than flowers. She simply said "don't worry we will take care of you" we told her the colors the bride wanted and she gave us the best she could on such short notice and they were absolutely stunning. Not only are the flowers at Cesar Grove breathtaking, but the people were unfailingly kind and empathetic to our situation and everyone was ready and willing to save us anyway they could. Saw it on Yelp, checked it out...just came back and "yay, I'm a fan". Potted flora, cut flowers and bouquet service, artsy gift shop. Ultra-compact space on a residential street corner; go slow after turning on Adams because it comes up fast. Extensive selection of very artistic homegoods inside, (xcellent beeswax candles) garden sculpture/pottery, the place to do Christmas shopping and find special gifts for friends and events. It smells NICE inside. Not a discount store! I bought locally made oatcakes, for example, at 5.95 for a small pack. But I found very good sized perennials that I've not seen anywhere else for $10 a pot...same price as any other store - and these were wintered over so they were strong and ready to bloom. They had poppies ready to bloom - and poppies don't bloom their first year...such a drag, right? I recommend this very highly. read more

Disappointed every time. Expensive and the customer service outside is horrendous. Just spent ten minutes being ignored while their "outside" guy first spent time placing a display on a trash can and then was told to wait so he could instruct a delivery man where to place boxes. And the "outside" guy had a helper who also helped instruct the delivery driver, not help but instruct. So a customer is waiting for help while two workers stand around telling a delivery guy where the boxes should go? They need to remember that sometimes folks coming into their store are dealing with grief. All he had to do was look up and tell me he would be with me in a few more moments but instead ignored me. You won't be getting my grief money today or my business from now on. And I almost never give one star. Today you deserved it. read more

I am so happy that I looked outside the typical wedding flower vendors most couples select and discovered Cedar Grove Gardens. From seeing Richard's work at his annual wedding show to speaking with his down to earth staff to meeting with him for an initial (free) consultation, it was an easy sell to pick Cedar Grove Gardens as my wedding florist. Even if you don't choose Cedar Grove Gardens, I highly recommend the annual wedding show. I got tons of ideas not just for flowers but for color schemes, table setups, etc. seeing the different set ups placed throughout the shop. I knew that I wanted tons of rich fall colors, but besides colors schemes and most importantly, price range, I let Cedar Grove have full creative license. There were no surprises the day of as I met directly with Richard multiple times to discuss flower choices, made tweaks where needed and even saw a full mock up of a table arrangement and bouquet a few weeks before the wedding. I periodically received updated purchase orders via email (for payment updates or flower changes), and Richard promptly replied to any questions. I've purchased many arrangements at Boston shops before and hardly got the number and variety of flowers that were in my wedding flowers. Another plus: you won't pay Boston prices or experience the sometimes stuffy attitude. read more

What a hidden gem in Dorchester! When I entered, I immediately fell in love with this florist/landscape/gift shop wonderland. It had lots if tasteful gifts and many things to please many tastes. The flowers appeared fresh ( cut) and well cared for ( annual and perennials). I was a little turned off by the customer service, as I was ignored for a solid five minutes, otherwise they would have received five stars. I will definitely return when I have time to spare!
