The scenery is beautiful, and you can easily spend a good amount of time just walking around and enjoying the water. My only complaint is that I wish there was more parking. What I appreciate about Log Boom is that there is usually a Lake Forest park patrol car parked in the parking lot in case there is an accident. I have gone to other parks and law enforcement is non existent. I once saw a forklift with keys by the park and let a dispatcher know. I'm very pleased by this park. The park is perfectly placed and laid out for events. Lot's of seating in the sun and shade, trail access, decent mix of shade cover and open sunny areas, plus it feels really safe. The trail that extends through this park is one of my faves. It is wide, flat, and gorgeous. I usually walk from here to where the Hollywood Hills wineries are, then back. Perfect flat walk for people with strollers, dogs, etc. The parking is limited- only about 15 spots. The baseball fields across the street aren't much better. I usually try to find parking at Woodin Creek or, if I have to, pay for the Schoolhouse District parking. A magical oasis in the middle of our sweet suburb!

The playground is great for kids aged 4-14. My little daredevil gave me a heart-stopping moment on the spinning climber, but thankfully she managed to hold on and avoid scraping her knee. Her sisters were beaming with joy, making it a fun-filled afternoon for all! A heads up: parking might fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. We actually took the local bus, which worked out great, so there's a convenient public transportation option available. The park borders the Sammamish River trail and offers a lovely view of Lake Sammamish from the walking trails. I recommend bringing a blanket or camping chairs - there's plenty of grassy space around the play area.

Cottage Lake Park is a neighborhood gem type of park. It isn't BIG, so it isn't worth a drive just…read moreto see it. But if you are nearby, stopping by for a stroll is recommended. On the park's property are also several sponsored YMCA activities, but those were closed during my visit. The parking lot at the NW corner is reasonably sized. We easily found parking. We later found another lot on the SE corner, but it was blocked. Entering the park, we see a picnic area adjacent to the sports court. The sports court is a single space usable for basketball and tennis. Walking further, we find the dock to the lake. The water is murky with a few ducks. There weren't any motor boats on the lake, which made the lake feel serene. The lack of water movement also yielded some fantastic reflection photos. During the later hours, we saw several men setting up their equipment to fish. A sizable playground is great for the kids. A short trail walk led to a second picnic area. The trail is a short loop walk with basic trees and wild growth. The walk is very well maintained and paved, even if not spectacular. The only "hazards" are tiny, speedy humans on bikes/trikes and yippee dogs claiming their territory. They added some excitement to a short stroll.

The fields were also bustling with kids throwing footballs, running and playing. The basketball court and tennis courts, also full, kept older teenagers and adults out in the sunshine and active. Two-hour street parking seemed relatively easy to come by, and with the library and a community center right there, the space is perfect for all things Saturday.

Peter Kirk Park is a suburban park that is ex-large in size with more than the typical amenities. Picnic tables, a sizable playground, tennis courts, skate park, seasonal swimming pool, and public parking round out the top features. With Kirkland Urban completing the key elements of its construction, it is a fully open connected space between the sizable Peter Kirk Park and Kirkland Urban. The park is well organized, easy to access, and plenty of space to enjoy sun, have a picnic, or people watch. Highly recommend.

The park itself is pretty big, a nice large lawn with picnic tables and plenty of space to set up a picnic on the grass. Most people seemed to be enjoying lunch in their car or on the grass or next to their cars. A few folks set up their lawn chairs and enjoyed the sunshine but point is, theres a lot space to enjoy the park however you want, it's pretty great! As for dog walking it wasn't a large area for dogs to roam around, dogs must stay on leash or you risk a fine according to the signs there, but it's still a nice area to bring your dog to while you enjoy the view. I had seen pictures of dogs in the water so I knew there had to be a trail somewhere. The lawn has a few levels to it and a lot of grassy spots areas to hang out in between the bushes and off to the left we found a dirt road. The signage was spray painted so you cant read it and the path looks pretty used so we went down it and came to the traintracks. We crossed those and found the beach where further down we saw some other people. Our dogs loved it, they got to enjoy the sunshine, roam on the grass, walk around and swim! We definitely plan on coming back just to enjoy coffee and a view, or have a nice lunch date, watch the sunset, theres quite a few fun possibilities here!

After closer examination, we quickly realized that it is nothing to write home about. But to give it credit, it was very clean. No bathrooms, not drinking water, it does have a walking area that paved. It's more "pretty" grass than anything else. Really can't see the point in revisiting.
