The two individuals that helped me and were so polite and happy and just excellent representatives of Lowe's. I purchased 9 small cans of paint for an outside project.. They mixed every one - with a smile and attitude their parents would have been proud of! Shopped on July 20th about 12 noon.. I don't have a name because I use My Lowe's Card and do not get a printed receipt. Ogdensburg, New York. 5 star.. or whatever is the highest

I ordered an item on-line and went to Lowe's Ogdensburg (2001 Ford Street Extension, Ogdensburg,…read moreNY) after receiving a notice that the item was ready for pick-up. My wife and I did some in-store shopping after getting our pre-ordered items from Lowe's self pick-up area. Staff in the store constantly watched me and my wife and aggressively made their presence known to us. (How often are you in large stores when you can't easily find an employee to help you?) Staff at Lowe's Ogdensburg were hovering around us during the entire time we were in this store. From a distance, one employee would yell, "Can I help you?" A few minutes later this annoying behaviour was repeated by another employee, one after the other, with about a total of five staff members watching us and behaving inappropriately. Soon it was obvious store staff weren't interested in helping us, but rather were watching our every move as we looked at different products in their store. It was more than just annoying; staff was being disruptive to our browsing and making it obvious that they were watching us. A male employee came over to us with a fake smile on his face. Soon as this employee got my attention he aggressively demanded to know where I had parked my car. This male employee asked me the make and colour of my vehicle and where we lived. Next, he demanded to know where I had parked my vehicle while stating, "I want to make sure that it's not parked somewhere it shouldn't be." This employee wouldn't leave until I told him and then he immediately departed the store looking for my car in the parking lot. Lowe's was almost devoid of customers, so I'm sure that finding my vehicle in the parking lot wasn't difficult. A short while later this same male employee comes back and states to me, "It's not your vehicle. I found the car and it doesn't belong to you". When I simply shook my head in disgust he added, "Where it's parked is okay!" He didn't want to believe that this expensive late-modeled car belonged to me. I had chosen about $100.00 worth of products to buy and placed everything on the counter. At the cash register a female employee loudly demanded, "You have to pay for everything." Next this rude female employee demanded I show her my driver's license before she would scan the products I was buying. The cashier defiantly said, "I want to know who you are." This cashier again very loudly stated, "You have to pay for everything." I was wearing shorts with empty pockets and a t-shirt. Also, I wasn't carrying any bags. Just what did she think I was trying to swipe, a wooden toothpick? While I realize theft is a problem in many stores, I don't steal. Why I was targeted for this type of abuse from staff at Lowe's is beyond me. I'm honest and only wanted to buy a few needed items, not sold at their stores in Canada. Given what occurred I won't be ever going back to Lowe's in Ogdensburg or anywhere else in the USA. Lowe's you have now lost a Canadian customer forever.

They claimed that total…read morecore liquefaction within 4 days is just an environment change issue, that their heavy, un aerated peat mud mix is perfectly fine for flytraps, and that the completely brittle, brown, dead String of Pearls roots I photographed are just naturally small. They tried to sweep this under the rug by offering a partial $60 store credit trap instead of a refund to my card, hoping I would walk away losing $85. I have rejected their credit and filed an official dispute/chargeback with my credit card issuer for defective goods. Do not trust their health guarantee. I am incredibly upset and disappointed by my recent experiences at Robert Plante Greenhouses. I bought 4 pinguiculas, a venus fly trap and a string of pearls throughout August 22, 26, 30 and September 6. All of my carnivorous plants i bought from them developed crown rot within 4 days. Their website explicitly guarantees that their plants are sold in good health, but their carnivore plant stock is plagued by a systemic nursery infection. I bought four separate Pinguiculas (Weser, gigantea, moranensis and a emarginata) and a Venus flytrap across a couple of trips spanning three weeks, and every single one of them collapsed into black, mushy crown rot exactly 4 days after bringing them home. The fact that this happened to multiple plants bought over a 3-week span proves they are neglecting their inventory and keeping an active water-borne outbreak alive on their benches. A healthy plant does not turn to rotting mush in 96 hours under proper care, ruling out any home environment issues on my end. I tried repotting them two days ago to save them and my weser and moranensis completely fell apart in my hands because the core was entirely liquefied. My emarginata was a total goner and had to go straight in the trash, and the other most recent one my gigantea from Sept 6th is in critical condition after hacking the rot off. To make matters worse, a staff member gave me completely wrong care advice for the p. emarginata telling me to leave it dry for 2 days. It was in a tiny nursery pot so it just completely shriveled up and died immediately. On top of that, their soil mix is a joke. They put a light dressing of rocks and perlite on the very top of the pots to make it look airy to a buyer, but underneath it is completely sandy, compacted silt and heavy peat with barely any perlite. Their premade carnivores soil i bought was so compacted that it turned into a heavy, suffocating mud that completely drowned out and choked the flytrap's roots. On top of the carnivorous plant department's massive issues, the variegated String of Pearls I purchased was sold with completely dead, dehydrated roots and immediately turned into a shriveled mess. I paid $7 for basically one strand of dying pearls with brittle, dry, thread roots that were dead on the sales floor long before I bought it. I have lost a total of $146 because this business sells pre existing liabilities, gives the wrong advice for specific species, and sells packages of garbage soil. I have reached out for a refund or replacements and hope management makes this right. I strongly warn others to avoid their compromised stock. The photos attached are all separate pinguiculas bought on separate days showing the black center rot and the compaction under the top soil, and my Venus fly trap is basically dead. I also included a picture of the tray i made trying to save them but almost all the leaves have brown rot, it also includes the mix i made for my pinguiculas so you can compare to what they sell, but obviously they were already compromised when i bought them so i had no chance to save them and my p. weser after it collapsed all the leaves are rotting.

Or a tote celebrating Montreal bagels? How about stickers of characters from the show Degrassi High? Or a mug that expresses your love for the Ottawa neighbourhood of Hintonburg? Maker House has all these items! I love all the quirky Canadian pop culture items they carry! The store isn't just about kitsch though, they have products from all over Canada, like Maritime Madness hot sauce, made in PEI (and is the best hot sauce I've ever had). They have chocolates, teas, drinks and other food items too. Really fun store to poke around. I'd recommend coming here to get a true souvenir from Canada, instead of getting something that happens to have the Canadian flag or the word Canada on it but is actually made in China :/ Street parking only. The website shown a lavenderish pink tin but when I ordered two of them, it came in white regular Sloan tins. The store should update the photo of the item, instead of misleading the online customers into buying and thinking that's what they'll get. I get this feeling that the store purposely do this in order to get rid of their last stock. Because after I bought the two tins, the item is now out of stock. I might be wrong, but if that's what it is, what a shame way of doing the little business that seems proud of their way giving back to community. Before I made my order, I knew this is a little store and I read their return policy. I write to the store regarding this issue, but I never get any reply. I don't think a simple apologize is too much to ask. Is this because your online customer less important than your local customers? Is it because this issue too small to deal with? I had much better experience shopping from much smaller stores and their professionalism is top notch compared to this. As customers, we shouldn't get less treatment regardless the item/the amount we buy. I'm very disappointed!!! I don't recommend shopping online from this store.
