The tree did great and we were able to surprise my mother-in-law and bring a lot of happiness to a otherwise sad day. The tree had leaves when it was planted, we took extra care to water and fertilize it but this spring had no buds. I called about the tree as we have only had it 10 months and unless I bought a $500.00 warranty which is 2/3's the price of the tree, this company will not either refund some of the cost or replace the tree.They installed the tree and told me there was only a free 60 day warranty on it. There was no issue for the first two months after planting it, which I find is a nice way to "cover their asses". No tree is going to die off or show issues that quickly. The staff then stated that larger trees have more issues and I should have bought up on the 60 day guarantee, however NO ONE said that to us when we were buying this tree. I have bought lots of plants, and we previously bought 2 trees elsewhere that WE installed, so I am familiar and not unrealistic in my expectations. Both of our other trees had a free 1 year guarantee. I would never recommend this company unless you don't care about you money or getting a functioning tree. The 1 year guarantee is worth it to go somewhere else, and I shouldn't have to pay 2/3 of the cost of the tree to have one. Go elsewhere where they will back up their plants and trees. I would say that they are shady but because we didn't get a healthy tree we have no shade.

Not so I wouldn't have to do it again soon but because I wanted the lawn to look like a golf green. After being scolded a few times by my parents I stopped trying to make our lawn look like a golf green or the outfield grass at a baseball field, and mowed it properly. As I grew up and eventually found my own home, that same passion continued. I like having our yard look nice. While we enjoy a variety of outdoor type stores, we have become fans of Zywiec's. Zywiec's is a family owned landscape and garden center located right off of Hwy 61 in Cottage Grove. We always try to support local establishments and love family owned placed. Zywiec's has been in business for over 30 years. They have all the usual products that you would need for landscaping and gardening. They also have hayrides, a corn maze and other activities. Their prices are very reasonable and we feel on some items they are almost underpriced. We have purchased mulch, rocks, bricks and grass seed to name a few items. Their service has always been fast and friendly. The hardest thing might just be trying to pronounce their name correctly. For some reason I just call them "Zoiks" from Scooby Doo. We've been here several times and we'll sure be back again soon.

If you're lucky, you might visit on a day with live music to turnip the beet, or when Wild Pyle Acres brings a few of their llamas and yaks to the market for the kiddos to meet.
