What a fantastic place! Great ambience with a classy gastropub vibe. We visited early in the afternoon on a Sunday. My husband tried a beer flight while I had a margarita that was on tap. Their liquor list is HUGE--I was very impressed! If a person drinks alcohol, they are bound to find something on their extensive menu. The bartender was incredibly friendly as well. We ordered a pretzel to share, and it didn't take long to come out. It was piping hot, as was the cheese dip. The pretzel was soft and delicious, great with the cheese--though the dip was a bit runny, so we made certain to clean up any mess. There's a lot to like A beer menu that rotates Quite impressive bar Swinging Bridge is greatly improved since I could call myself a RF townie over 8 years ago now. They were very small with only a couple of their own beers on tap. Fast forward to now and their space has more than doubled and they have 30 taps that are all of their own making. Only had the beers to drink here but the hard liquor selection is large and in charge. Very impressive looking bar. 16 choices on their food menu. I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Kumpir tonight. Don't think I had ever had a Kumpir before. They are basically a Turkish loaded baked potato. Very good and very filling and reasonably priced. 4 stars and not 5 because I have not had any banger beers here. Decent to solid in that regard but nothing to write home about. read more

This is a cool place to hang out, have a couple of beers and catch up on conversation. That conversation may get a bit incoherent after those beers, but hey, it's all in good fun. You've heard it before, "It's the beer talking." Sure enough, the bond between beer and words is a strong one. But one loosens the other, and if you're not careful, your stay at the Swinging Bridge may be a short one. That would be too bad cause their beer offerings are great. You deserve to try a few of the variety. Heck, you've earned it. I had a nice little number called Playbook Pils. It was delightfully refreshing. I know, tame words for those of you who frequent the swill, but what do you want me to say? That this beer was the bomb? No, I'm a bit older than the college town clientele. I prefer to speak English, that is, until multiple brews pass over the lips, then who knows what may spew forth. Hopefully not the delicious beer that was just ingested! There's a patio out back that on this early Fall day was being occupied by a number of induldgers. I and my buddy John hung out inside. We watched a game while being embraced by the warm ambiance of our surroundings, both material and humankind. Very nice folk at the Bridge. So if your girl is giving you trouble and you just need a couple of hours to reboot, pop on in to the Swinging Bridge and have a few. I guarantee that when you exit, you'll be seeing through rose colored glasses, and your girl trouble will somewhat be diminished. On the other hand, maybe you should bring her with you. At least then, you'll be on a level playing field. Quick Tip: I suggest that you try their food. I hear it's pretty good. I didn't try it. Mainly because Swinging Bridge was only stop one for the afternoon. There were more breweries on the horizon and more adventure to be had. read more

Swinging Bridge knocked it out of the park! We were there for the first time on Saturday during the lunch hour. They have a great beer menu, plenty of cocktails for people like me that aren't beer drinkers, and a modestly sized menu (which you will understand why that is the case when you see how tiny the "kitchen" is). My hubby tried two different kinds of beer and enjoyed them both, while I had a couple delicious lemon drop martinis (the best I've had in quite some time, in fact). We split the Pub Pretzel and Goat Cheese BLT. They were both tasty, but my husband kept raving about the bacon in the sandwich. Given the day and time of our visit Swinging Bridge was quite busy, but all the servers worked seamlessly as far as orders being placed, delivering food and drinks, and clearing things off the table. We sat at a table in the bar area and it somehow managed to feel cozy even with us being there at a peak time; there was seating in a separate room for those that perhaps want more of a private/quiet visit. read more

Jumped over the border to try a couple breweries in River Falls, Wisconsin. The first stop was to grab a flight of four beers at @swingingbridgebrewing . I arrived as soon as they opened to have some great conversation with some regulars and the bartenders. Greta Van Peach: An American IPA using Magnum and Mosaic hops, with an addition of peach puree. The peach flavor is a backdrop to the hop flavors that included black pepper, little citrus, and nutmeg like spice. The citrus hop flavor rolled into the peach flavors and aromas - a ride I thoroughly enjoyed. It's Always Hazy: The Gang Uses Mosaic: A DDH Hazy New England IPA with a bunch of mosaic. Very hazy with tropical fruit aromas and flavors - think mango, citrus, and a little tangerine. A hint of spiciness from the usage of a Kveik yeast strain. Just Add Tequila: A Fruited Gose that reminds me of an unsweetened margarita (my favorite type!). Medium tartness, mild salt and sweet agave, and medium-high lime. Enjoyable with the nicer weather and something you could make a non-beer drinker even enjoy. Kinni Kolsch: Per its name, a traditional Kolsch. Crisp, clean, and mild flavors with low hop. On finish, there's a hint of fruit from the yeast. read more

I absolutely love this place, they've done a wonderful job with their expansion! This is a place I bring friends from out of town because it's impressive and I can wow people. The drinks are great, I haven't had a single beer or drink here that I haven't liked. And their beers are unique enough that you don't feel like you're getting something that you could find at any other brewery. And the service is wonderful. The people that work at Swinging Bridge genuinely seem to love what they do, and it shows. read more

Stopped in today...third time ever!! Had three flights so I could try all the offerings! The beers....weren't good... they were freaking delicious!! Corey, possibly the Tap Room Manager was delightful, as was beertender Sara!! Later shift, as was beertender Cody!! Brewer Kenny popped in, so was fortunate to chat him up! Digs, beers, service, fellow customers? All top notch, definitely won't wait as long to pop back in!!! The Who's That Girl sour? Spot on!!! Sour enough to stand up the hairs on the back of your neck!! The Seshable, I'm not an IPA person, wasn't great at first sip....but... finished it off!! My bestest friend in the world lives in River Falls, and I finally made it there to see the town. She recommended Swinging Bridge as a place that treats her like family (and it does), so in we went. +1 for family treatment. Can vouch the following: * Kid friendly inside. * Good selection of good beers. * Yum. Cheese curds. * Wisco roll: Bratwurst is sliced, not an entire dog wrapped in pastry. Be warned. But very tasty. Prices are a bit expensive. River Falls has become hipster? But at least on the warm weekday night I visited, downtown wasn't bustling and Swinging Bridge was not overcrowded, douchey, touristy, etc. A solid stop that is sure to slowly drain your bank account as it lures you back again and again. read more

What a cute place in downtown River Falls! If you're in the area, this a must try. They have a nice selection of beer on tap. The usual variety with of course their own personal twist on each. They had a Halloween candy stout that I got to try which was fun. They also have a nice food menu with a variety of items including kimchi tacos and nachos. We ordered the nachos and they were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. This is a smaller place so it fills up pretty quickly. Just goes to show how popular it is! We cozied up to the bar and enjoyed a nice afternoon sipping on good Wisconsin beer and munching on some delicious food! Will come again next time I'm in town! My husband and I LOVED coming here until we decided to come here for date night and there were kids everywhere. No joke- There were 5 kids there (for the 25 minutes we were there before we left). And while we do love kids, we felt foolish for *assuming* that there wouldn't be any kids there (especially on a Saturday night). I guess the [lame] bar scene is the only place where we can be sure not to see kids when we're out for drinks..? A really weird thing was that some of the kids were apparently hanging out in the kitchen? Must have been an employee's/owner's kids (?). Regardless, it was kind of a buzzkill because we were there to drink good beer in an environment sans children. We've always enjoyed their selections, but we could drink decent beer for a lot less money at home and not pay for a babysitter. Cheers. Ugg I was soooo disappointed. They had a new beer release coming out, the chocolate coconut stout. I met up with my friends to taste test their beers and partake on a couple appetizers. If you have read any of my reviews, you know that I now hold up all breweries in comparison to Rush River brewery. I figured hey, these guys are a mere 2 miles away so I bet their beer is good too. WRONG. This brewery seems to have gone the way of many MN breweries. A love affair with hops. There wasn't a single beer on offer that day that had a beer under 25 on the IBU scale. In fact, two of their biggest offerings were 60 & 70 IBU, respectively. I just really dislike bitter beers and it became apparent as I made my way through a flight that this place was not going to win my beer affections. The blood orange smelled good (very fruity) but didn't taste all that good. This place is small with very little seating (3 tables and the bar) so if you come here on a busy day, be prepared to stand around and drink. Where they get their 3 added stars is the food and service. We ordered the hummus plate which had very tasty hummus with veggies and bread for dipping. The big pretzel was pretty good too, though a bit dry and not enough dip. The bartender was very nice and helpful and quick to take our order. I might come back her again with Steve just so he can sample the fare (he likes IPAs) but I will be drinking their house soda which was a very tasty cream soda heavy on the vanilla. read more

Please god give Riverfalls a decent restaurant ! Having gotten that off my chest- Swinging bridge does have food but alas "bar" food of which there is no shortage of in RF. Nonetheless this place has some great beer esp. IPA "It's Always Hazy". And after all it's a brewery so . The guys running the place are really friendly nice atmosphere. This are the perks of travelling due to work. First time in this area and I can only say thank you. I know there are a ton of spots for me to visit but Swinging Bridge Brew is my type of small scale brewers dream, cozy, great selection of music(not a country fan but we can scratch that out for). Due to the size of the brewery it is normal to see some beers sell faster than others and having that delicious problem of deciding to get something different from what you where expecting. I'm actually glad they ran out of the Wheat Pale Ale and Blood Orange IPA that I wanted to try, I tasted all of the ones available and my faves where the: Hipster Glasses IPA; exactly what the description says, a well balanced beer with bitternes, sweetness and aroma provided by Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic and Magnum Hops. This was hands down one of my top 5 IPA's I've ever tasted. My second fave was the Irish Coffee Stout, if you are a coffee enthusiast than this beer is just for you. Loaded with bold, well toasted coffee in a perfectly balanced Irish Stout, a black perfection. Thank you River Falls for such great place, thank you Swinging Bridge Brewery for such great brews. This is a great, local brewery on Main Street in River Falls. Limited prep space makes for a limited food menu but the service is good and taps change often. Juniors will deliver from their full menu, same great owners. Growlers, cans and food are offered to go and NA beverages are offered. read more

Gorgeous building, good food, and nice staff but unfortunately the beer never was to my liking. I was a Mug Club Member during the first year this place was open but only found myself liking one of the beers (Milkshake IPA) out of everything I tried here. I ended up ordering Kombucha more often than not when I went downtown to hang out here. I did like that they had a solid lineup of beers from other Wisconsin breweries but again, their lineup never caught on with me. read more

I have visited The Swinging Bridge twice since it has opened. The first visit was with my son and we both had a great time and the service was fabulous despite a rather large crowd. I wish I could say the same for my second visit. My wife and I visited this past Sunday. There were two people at the bar and one other table. We sat down at a table and reviewed the menu. There were two people behind the bar and they didn't even acknowledge our presence. Even after going up to bar and ordering the service was less than friendly. One server was preparing food while the other carried on a conversation at the bar without really paying any attention to anyone else. Great food, beer and atmosphere but they need to work on service. Everybody should be greeted when they enter especially when the place is as small as it is. read more

The Cascade Avenue was delicious. Right amount of hops and easy to drink. A good smash beer for beer beginners. The decor is simple but polished. I like the high top tables and stools. We also had the pub pretzel... sooooo good. It comes with a side of stone ground ustard and their homemade beer cheese soup to dip into. Since I'm a Mug Club member, I feel an obligation to return again and again and again... I have visited Swinging Bridge several times. The service, cleanliness, food and beer are always top notch. On Saturday the 13th I brought my wife in here for the first time; she doesn't like beer but Swinging Bridge makes an in-house Kombucha (fermented tea with fruit), and a cream soda. When we arrived at 11:30 it was just us two. By 12 the place was PACKED with a capital "holy crap!" UWRF were having their graduation ceremony and there was another event going on so the place was hopping. Two ladies plus Dustin the owner and Mike the head brewer were all running around but no one went without. Everyone was taken care of immediately. We ordered the cream soda, 4 Winds IPA, brisket sandwich and the meat and cheese tray. I've had their food before but again, this was the first time my wife had tried it. 1. We loved the brisket. Damn tasty. 2. The meat and cheese tray again, damn tasty. 3. The 4 Winds IPA is one of my favorite and I got it in a can. Did I mention you can get their beer in giant 32 oz cans? Well you can! Get it? Can? Forget it... 4. The cream soda is THE best we've ever had. Mike the head brewer does an amazing job with not only the beer but this cream soda is scrumptious. Great beer, excellent service, and exceptional food! Not sure what more I can say about it except that the soft pretzels are fresh made next door, they are amazing and the size of your head. The queso and mustard they serve with it are craft made as well and super delicious. Today we had the pulled pork sandwich that was great even the bun tasted homemade! We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip... quickly learned that was way too much food for two people!! The dip was amazing and had just a slight kick to it which made my foodie heart sing with joy. If you haven't had the food here you have no idea what you are missing! Our new favorite place. The beer selection is pretty good, and I like their house beers as well as the guest taps. The space is beautiful and they keep it very clean. Their bartenders are always pleasant and patient even during busy hours. Their menu is unique but absolutely delicious and fresh, made right in front of you. Our favorite is the bread and butter board, 2 different types of butter (whipped Irish, and Citra hopped- infused which is amazing) and honey comb. Filling and really yummy. The first time we went we were very impressed as staff was so helpful and efficient. The atmosphere has a cool vibe to it and the food had a uniqueness and was delicious. But...second time we went it was not such a great experience. It was busy just like the first time we went, but very understaffed. Only 2 employees working and one of them stood at the end of the bar talking to a couple about the beers and Im sure other things for a well amount of time and the other employee was busy making all the food. So we waited at least 10 minutes before being approached (we were sitting at the bar) and it was by the guy making the food and he kept saying I will be with you soon...why couldn't the other guy come down and get us a drink??? When you are busy you can not just hang with one customer when you have multiple others. We had no drinks and had to listen to the guy making the food stress out and complain how busy it was. We came in to have beers and food because we enjoyed it so much the first time but we ended up having one beer and no food. The guy making food knew we wanted to order but kept saying I will get to you in a bit I'm just too busy, meanwhile while the other guy just stood on the cash register end of the bar talking to the same couple the whole time. Its a bummer when you don't feel welcome in your own town and go to other cities to their breweries. There are soooo many breweries nowadays so we will just go elsewhere. On a Saturday you should staff up (you can always cut staff if its slow) and try teamwork. read more
