So I began sampling taffy flavors, beginning with honey. The woman said that vanilla is her favorite, so I tried the vanilla as well. Both the honey and the vanilla flavors were very good. I sampled a few other flavors and was satisfied. Sold. I left there with a pound of salt water taffy in hand.

The owner was so nice and shared how his family had moved from Massachusetts and saw an opportunity when the business went on sale a while back. It sounds like he has great plans to expand the business both on site and online, including delivery options. Although, driving out to new Germany isn't a bad way to spend a Saturday morning. Bonus is you get to peruse their coolers where they have a variety of options, including multiple flavors of delicious beef sticks. Best cured & smoked ham I've ever had! So glad we stumbled on this place after hiking the state…read morepark hiking club trail. Best Easter ham ever! Beef muscle jerky is up near the best. Ring bologna had too much moisture (too much pork?) for my liking but flavor was very good. . NOTE - they give great instructions for cooking the ham but I used two internal meat thermometers to monitor internal temps while cooking in the oven at 350. Just remember that these are "guidelines" & you must put some liquid in a roaster pan, insert your temp probes, then seal roaster tightly with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 til IT of 155 degrees. When the ham hit 155 IT, I shut the oven off and just let the ham sit in there, sealed, until it's time to eat. Monitoring your internal temps still of course. Mine ended up reaching 178 degreees IT by the time we ate. The ham is perfectly moist and bursting with great flavor, it wasn't the slightest bit dry.
