Nice to have an oasis for food and drink near Dupont Forest. Mostly sandwiches with a large variety of craft beers and wine. They also have an assortment of turnovers and sweets. Wifi is a plus as well since there is no service in most of this area for miles. There is also a gas pump if you are desperate for fuel. Entertainment on the weekends and the management is very helpful.

Perfect view of the nearby hills from the wrap around porch - plenty of outdoor and indoor seating.

This place is absolutely adorable. Really a hidden gem in the mountains and the perfect spot for this area. We had a beer on tap and a turkey, apple, and brie sandwich. The food seems to be pre-prepared and then heated when ordered. Not sure if that's the same for the pizzas, but there were wraps, sandwiches, and quiche in the display case. Sandwich was delicious and crispy after going through the toaster. Food and beer together were $17, which is a little high for me, hence the 4 stars, but I was really pleased with it overall. Staff was incredibly friendly and chatted with us a bit while we were ordering/looking around. We were actually recommended to come down here from a shop owner just down the way, so clearly locals supporting locals, which we love. Might not be a destination spot for us, but we would definitely return when in the area!

Ya know, had expectations that this would be good. We ordered two pizzas, one vegetarian, one with some meat, the meat choices were chicken or ham. They ran out of sausage. Place wasn't crowded, and at 6pm, they ran out of a key pizza topping ingredient. Ordered a cup of minestrone soup as an appetizer, well the pizza came first, and both were luke warm, should have been piping hot...and the soup had yet to arrive.. Told the server we had two soups, and he said, yes, he'd get them...soup was good, a very small portion. Not worth what we were charged. The pizza was average. The beer here was good. Desert here looked bad in the showcase. Passed on that.

I'm so glad that someone has turned this spot into a great local spot! The last thing we needed was another chain. They have indoor and outdoor seating- with fire pits! Great wine selection, and tastings!! They also do coffee and sweets, they have an in house baker! The cake we had was FABULOUS. You can get a light lunch as well, and with all these great features Cedar Mountain Outpost has become a great community gathering spot. Gas! They also have gas pumps! It is SO GOOD to finally be able to buy gas in Cedar Mountain. If you are hiking or biking in Dupont make sure to stop in and check them out.

Last couple of pizza slices inside with a soup-to-go, beers & sweet tea.

Almost waved off a visit to CMO to keep on our agenda. So glad we didn't! Two soups to pick from & lotta sandwiches, prepared salads, etc. Nice beer selection & sodas/waters. Staff was very helpful. Clean, modern interior, plenty of outdoor seating options. Took our dog and enjoyed a sunny lunch. We will be back.

Wonderful friendly and prompt service. The pizza was delicious. Went great with the tap beer. Lots of other options inside: snacks and deserts. I plan to be back for breakfast. The croissants looks amazing in the case. Life is good on Cedar Mountain!

Staff was BEYOND rude. Completely ruined what may have been a decent lunch experience.

Here we go again!!! Another review spurred by a lovely Yelper liking my pictures. Thank you Rose…read moreD. For jarring my memory and giving me memories to fix not writing a great review for this place. We traveled to Brevard back in 2022 for one of our annual leaf viewing tours. Fun fact about Brevard! There are white squirrels everywhere. There are also regular brown squirrels too. My wife told me about this before we got here but it's strange, there are so many of them. One of the oddest things I find is that there are no mixed squirrels. Like kinda brown, or kinda white, it's either one or the other. They hang together, surely they get it on. What the hell is going on here?!?!? Where did they come from? Why haven't they spread to other areas?? Anyway.... About this bakery. We stopped by here a few times for meals and snacks. Most of it was just pretty good and nothing to really write home (lol) about. I did not know this at the time and did not truly savor the moment well enough. I had the absolute best pastry I have ever had in my life here. I often think back to it and when I see a similar looking pastry only to be let down when I try it. It was the scone to beat all other scones!!! So freaking good!! Orange Pistachio Coriander was the flavor and nothing will ever beat it I am afraid!! If you make it here, check out the white squirrels. There are even gift shops dedicated to them and I swear they have little signs all over town about them. Also.... Mantiques is right down the way. Great shopping!! '22 - I can't even remember, lol.

We've stopped in several times, usually early when it's quiet, and unfortunately the staff (with one exception) have been noticeably unfriendly--especially toward my kids. My boys are always polite and well-mannered, so it's frustrating to see them treated with impatience or attitude. There's just no excuse for adults to be dismissive or rude to children or any customers, especially in a place that serves families. That said, Matthew deserves recognition. He's always been welcoming, kind, and genuinely great with my boys. He sets the standard for what the customer experience should be. I hope management takes a closer look at how guests are being treated, because with better service, this place could easily be somewhere we'd visit regularly.

This is located in the plaza with Tractor Supply and next to Goodwill…read more You know when you walk into a shop and you desperately want it to succeed but you can see it will struggle? This is written from a place of genuine well-wishing. I have a soft spot for mom and pop businesses. Products found: Erythritol, vegetarian gel caps, gray salt (not located anywhere else n town). The place has a sense of being left behind. I can imagine long-time residents may have an affinity for this store and are the ones who are keeping it afloat. A paint job, a massive clearance sale, and a volume turn-up on the music could immensely help here. I think they would benefit from abandoning the food in the freezer section, but keep the cold drinks. A website alone would benefit them, even if it is one page just letting the world know you exist with just the store hours and the phone number (the unofficial Facebook page has just a phone number). Someone we know who has lived in the area right down the road for a year had no idea this place exists. I saw plenty of price tags that looked aged. This does not bode well for purchasing. I swear one food item from a popular brand had faded packaging. The person I was with pointed out the mountain of ice on a container of muffins in the cold section. The woman we spoke with at the store was very kind, but it may not be enough for this storefront to sustain itself based on competitors in the area. This would be a place best visited for supplements and teas.
