We stopped in this brewery on the way back from Oskar Blues. I actually wish we would have stopped before OB. I had the HazeMe Hazy IPA and my husband had the Dunkel Buck, dark German lager. Both beers were delicious...the HazeMe was not too hoppy, and not overly citrusy-just the right amount. The Dunkel Buck was light and full of flavor. We ordered a chipotle cheesesteak from Gordingo's , and that was very good, also. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend stopping here! read more

Been coming here since they opened, they do a real nice job providing a big selection of handcrafted beers. There are usually two beer pouring staffers behind the bar, and they know what they have behind the funny names given all the different beers. The music they play over the speakers is boring at best, and when asked to hear the tv audio in a separate room, where there was a sports event on tv, was told they couldn't do that because of copyright violations, I don't think that is true... Food here is good, but nothing really over the top. read more

This brewery was pretty close to the Airbnb I stayed at. I wish they had a wheat beer on draft but the recommended Mexican lager was pretty good that I ended up getting a second one. I liked that there was ample seating with both indoor and outdoor options, however, I hated the chairs! The chairs are awkward and flat out uncomfortable! read more

Omg, this place is ridiculously good! If you are in for a Mexican feast, please try this place! Just go ahead and get the triple dip app, "The Works" and thank me later. I love Cali burritos and this place has one of the best I've had since Cali! My wife ordered the fresca tacos with chicken and they were awesome! And the beer is legit as well! Amazing beers. I ordered a flight of four beers, each one was excellent. I especially liked the Porter, very smooth malt flavor. Also ordered a burrito bowl that was delicious, lots of flavor. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The parking lot gets very full, but don't let that discourage you. The brewery itself is very large and they do a good job of managing the crowd. This place should definitely be on your list of things to do when visiting Brevard. This is the place to grab a cold beer and some quick Mexican food after a long bike ride or hike. Amazing food and beer! I had the Queso tacos 3 which have roasted pork, cheese red onions and cilantro . The tacos alone are very tasty but are served with a trio of sauces, green chile, red chile and habanero. I love hot and spicy and they didn't miss! We popped in for a quick beer while in the area running an errand for our family that live in the area. The place looks pretty cool, and it's HUGE! Lots of seating both inside, and they have patio seating in front and on the sure. They have a good variety of beers to choose from and we both really enjoyed the ones we tried. We recently visited Ecusta on a trip to Brevard, and overall, we were impressed with the brewery. However, I need to mention the one negative thing up front. I have a pet peeve with restaurants - if you're going to allow children in your establishment, you need to provide a place for BOTH parents to change a diaper. The only thing worse than not having any changing tables, is to only have the changing table in the women's restroom. Ecusta failed here - there is a changing table in the women's restroom, but not in the men's. While I hope this was merely an oversight, I'm asking that the manager correct this. There is plenty of room in the men's restroom for a changing table, and I often take my children out "unaccompanied" by my wife. I truly appreciate breweries that are kid friendly, but please give both parents a safe and sanitary place to change a diaper. On to the beer and food - Ecusta has a great number and variety of beer offerings. Some breweries are IPA heavy, but Ecusta has a variety of styles, and bring in offerings from other breweries to round out their menu, such as ciders. They offer flights of 4, which I recommend to try a few different styles. Ecusta also has an in-house kitchen, not solely relying on food trucks as many other breweries often do. The menu was rather impressive, and the 2 dishes we tried (carne asada fries and the shrimp and grits) were well put together and delicious. The brewery is "mostly" kid friendly, save for the lack of a changing table in the men's room. There is a room at the end of the bar that is 21+, which is needed for the dart boards in that room. I appreciate having dart boards, although it does mean less seating for families. Despite that, many families were there, and were relatively well behaved. Dogs are welcome outside, and there is a large amount of outdoor seating. Overall, Ecusta is a solid brewery in a small mountain town where there are limited options. They would hold their own in a larger city, and are a popular location for locals and tourists in Brevard. The brewery can get busy on the weekends, so plan to get there early if you need indoor seating. But to the owners and staff - PLEASE put a changing table in your men's restroom! Dad's change diapers too, and this Dad likes to take his kids out to teach them how to be well behaved patrons at breweries. read more

We were in the area and didn't need a big lunch, but don't pass up local beer. My parents, husband and I brought our two kids (almost 2 and 4). We tried two flights, a bowl of blackened poblano cheese grits and the southwest style fries. Everything was delicious! My only drawback is that several people have said that Ecusta isn't kid friendly, which shows because they have a changing table in the women's restroom, but not the men's. This doesn't discourage parents and kids, it's sexist. My husband feels even more strongly about it. Apparently the manager has said that they don't care about being kid friendly, which is their prerogative, but don't be sexist. read more

We stopped here after a long weekend camping near the Davidson River. The building is separated into two sections, a bar and a kitchen side. There is a lot of seating options for both inside and out. It's all self-serve which is nice and great for families. The food came out quickly and was delicious. There is a nice selection of beers they brew. My favorite was the ESB, which you don't see many these days in the sea of IPAs out there. We will surely be back for a visit. read more

There's too much good beer in the area to find yourself at Ecusta. The best beer I've had there has been meh, the staff is a little snooty for working in a rural parking lot, and the outdoor tables all face the parking lot rather than the scenic open field behind the brewery. Great little brewery right off the main road to Looking Glass Falls & Sliding Rock! Fantastic pitstop to or from the BRP and on the main road going into town. Decent beer selection with fun decor/seating. Interesting sours, but they have nice high gravity options as well! Was not busy at all when I walked in, but got packed pretty quickly. I just wrapped up a private event at Ecusta Brewing, and couldn't be happier with the outcome! We rented the event space; a lovely private room with TVs, outdoor deck access, and it's own bar. We had the event catered from the restaurant on-site: "Gordingo's". This food was hands-down some of the best taco/Mexican-inspired food that I've had in WNC. They definitely went all out in offering all of the available food options, toppings, sauces, extras, accoutrements, goodies, etc. you MUST try the Caribbean jerk chicken! And the beer is equally amazing. There is certainly something for every palette, and I'd highly recommend the "rails-to-trails" ale! read more

All their beers are either full or half-pint pours. They have a good selection of beers, but mainly IPA which isn't our jam. The surprise brewery of this year's Asheville trip. Seen it many times as we would go into the forest or even stop at Dolly's. It's in a strip mall and if I was judging a book by it's cover, this would be I'll skip it (or maybe watch the movie at best). So never went before. I was wrong. Ecusta sits in the corner of the shopping plaza, the restaurant has a nice darker theme inside if I recall but very chill. And a nicer than I though back patio (don't expect Sierra Nevada or anything, but better than I thought with a lake/river behind it). It was a quick stop in, so had a flight. And the beers were great. I write this a week later as I'm wearing my super cool Ecusta t shirt. Now I know....next time, Ecusta stop! read more

Ecusta Brewing with an assist from Gordingo's is fast becoming a regular stop for us. Good original brews and Mexican fare served via rice bowls (and burritos if desired).
