This is a money making machine and that's all they're concerned about. My Finance and I were there for 2 1/2 days and we were charged $10,000. We have no insurance so that really hurt. They claim the usual and customary charge is $4663 PER DAY!! I offered to pay them half of the $10K they were charging me but they refused. We brought our own meds (Hypertension, etc), which they identified but did not give us. Instead they ordered their own (same meds) through their pharmacy which I was later billed for. I cannot believe how inept this whole program was from the get go. My son was put into a detox facility and after a few days was put into the "drug rehab portion" of the Cedar Point Recovery. We received numerous calls about my son's seizures at the detox house on Madison Ave. It did not appear to be staffed with any medical personnel able to handle anything at all of a medical nature though. He spent the entire time going in & out of emergency rooms and they did not seem to comprehend that seizures are common in people detoxing from severe drug use. He also had his Versace sandals stolen at this "detox house"! All they said at the end is, we gave you everything back! No inventory control whatsoever. Before he was ready, they put him in the "rehab house" to start the program. He continued with his seizures at this new location and was in the emergency room and ambulances for very long periods of time again. I cannot imagine this withdrawal situation was not able to be handled on site. $20,000.00 later, I receive a phone call stating an employee or person attending the program has COVID! The staff insisted that I pick him up to quarantine at home for 2 weeks and if I did not he would be put out on the street. Unfuckingbeleivable! My son was straight pay as well as 2 other men that were sent to the airport for 12-24 hour waits for their flights with no food or money to go to their homes or any notification to anyone in their families. My son shows up in an Uber a couple of hours later, we were totally unprepared for this! He is still here in mostly the same condition we sent him to CPR. My son told us that the cook had Pneumonia and was not sure if others were sick too. They kept him and the other 2 in a barren room for 2-3 hours (no clocks in the room) before they shipped them out to where they came from. Basically once they send you home no one returns calls or gives a shit about any of them. We paid for an Uber for 1 of the men sent home that had no money or anyone to help him get to his house once he arrived in his own state. My son gave his last $20.00 to one of them to buy food also. You could not make this up after the caring thoughtful and convincing stories of HELP AWAITING from every person involved, from the top to the bottom of seniority. We were told if my son left early his refund would be prorated also. Guess what is the cherry on top? Not one human has explained anything to my son or us, the payee's. No executives, directors, or any other human of CPR have explained any of this to us. You will never be able to speak to any of them. We are currently looking into legal options because they did virtually nothing but barely babysit him for a few days. This place should be ashamed and make reparations to all involved for what they have done. PS, my son said he was never once seen by any psychiatrist, only physician assistants. Horrible care. They lied to me three times before I walked through the door. They sold me on their facility with private rooms then sent me a new address as I was on my way. Turned out to be 2 to a room in a facility I'd been to before years ago and experienced awful care. The intake took two and half hours which is ridiculous when you're shaking and miserable. They wouldn't give me any valium to ease the discomfort because they said my BAC was too high. I waited a few hours and tested again and it showed a reading that was twice as high as when I walked in! Frustrated and baffled I accepted it and just suffered. Then I asked for a different testing device and low and behold it showed a low BAC, of course. Finally got a valium. Then I waited and waited hours later for the next dose. Nothing. Finally, I spoke up and was told "oh, you have to request it". Would have been nice to be told that on the front end instead of suffering. I met with their doctor my second day there. He pulled me off a critical medication I've taken for 16 months out of hand. I asked "won't I go through withdrawals if you do that?" and he said it would be no big deal and changed the subject. So, after I was mostly done with the alcohol withdrawal in a few days I began to go through very uncomfortable withdrawals from an opiate. I didn't pay that enormous sum of money to be forced into opiate withdrawals. I asked, complained, pleaded, negotiated, threatened and was finally 'allowed' to take my medication the day before I was discharged. 6 days of opiate withdrawal from a medication that MY dr. insists I need. I had to have a meeting with the Director to finally get it 'authorized' and she assured me it was being expedited. Expedited took 6 hours. The staff in general is NOT client centered. Much of the time the night crew is texting and listening to music with their headphones. They rarely walk the house to see the chaos that is happening. When I complained about the 100% volume of the loud tv at 4am I was rudely told to go back to bed. Some staff are professional however and they seem to carry the burden of the slackers. Counselor Dan is very good and carries the place. Hey, at least I achieved the goal of freedom from alcohol, but locking me in a closet would have had the same effect. When I got home from this nightmare experience I looked at my credit card statement to discover they had over charged me $1400! At least they're initiating a refund. If you need detox at a realistic price where the staff is client centered and provide quality care go to PATHWAYS. Trust me. read more

Very frustrating process to get in. I understand needing insurance info to get into the program but not knowing when it will be possible for me to get into a program, if I am covered, is completely inconvenient. This is has got to be one of the most abusive places I've run across yet. I was sober for 4 months, and had a relapse one day. I called for help, and they wanted to ship me off for a month for detox. They call every day belittling me about being close minded (that's a quote), and literally laughed at me about where I was getting help.ive told them every time they call to stop, but they insist that I'm gonna die (another quote). Your facility is absolutely ridiculous when you call to even ask questions the person on the other line must be an addict of some kind or in recovery or something because they have an absolute attitude that's just trying to ask questions about the facility where they're located insurances that they accept even the name of it I got hung up on several times I try it again months later to see if I could get some questions as I have a loved one that needs some help well absolutely cut me off short didn't one offer any information help or answer any questions it seems like there's no manager on site there or anybody who wants to answer or help if this is how it is on the phone just to get in the door how bad is it when you're in there I believe they have good people answering the phones who are there recovering I don't believe that these people who are answering the phone or true work and ask for management is out of the question there seems to be a big problem at that facility read more

I loved the program, the therapists, and a lot of the therapeutic activities. They teach phenomenal coping skills, and tons of education. The "politics" behind the scenes, leadership, etc., TERRIBLE!! Most patients stay at a home through Sprout, and there's a separate "billing" company named FinPay. Every company refers you to the next company. Billing is an absolute MESS. They try to give you tons of different prescriptions. They bill your insurance as if you're working with a psychiatrist, but you're really only working with a Physician's Assistant. You have to request to speak with a Psychiatrist. When you raise questions and concerns to leadership, they say you're not using your "coping skills". They LIE to get you to go to the program, (you can come/go as you please, you can go shopping, you can leave whenever you want), all lies!! If you leave early, they hold your items, including phone, for 24hrs or more. There's an $800 housing fee, nobody advises of until you get there. Do your homework and take your time going there. Work out all the finances with your insurance first. Again, therapists, clinicians, some GSE staff, and chefs are amazing. It's leadership that is pretty horrible! read more

We are grieving the loss of a family member that went there to get detoxed and treated. He was only there for 6 days and he lost his life. Do not trust this place. They showed no sympathy and gave us no answers or information of our loved one and even refused to show us the home where he was treated when we went there to take his remains back home. They used blocked numbers to call us to try to communicate. This shows how much they really cared. Do not go to this place and discourage your family member to get treated because there's a chance you will lose your life or loved one's life. IT WAS JUST 6 DAYS and he lost his life in their care!!! These people don't deserve to be treating people that are in need of help. Their failure to monitor and take care of their patients is not satisfactory. Because of this, someone's life was lost. It seemed to me when we spoke to them it was more of a business for profit and it seemed they didn't care for their patients' well being. SHAME ON YOU CEDAR POINT. My wife had struggled with her drinking for over 8 years and had been in and out of detox programs throughout Northern California. When she relapsed again, I was not sure what to do or if anything would ever help. I was referred to Cedar Point by another facility where she had previously detoxed and spoke to Cedar Point's outreach coordinator who told me about the program and how they could help. I'll admit, I wasn't sure at first what they could do that no one else had and how long it would be after my wife returned home that she would relapse again. After working with the admissions folks, I drove her to their detox at 9:00 at night on a Saturday and they took her right in. She was upset and embarrassed but they welcomed her into the residence and comforted her. As soon as I was back home, the nurse let my wife call to tell me she was safe, had already met with the doctor and started her detox medication. As the week went on, I was able to check in on her and the staff kept me in the loop with any updates on her condition and plans for returning home. She eventually agreed to continue with the intensive outpatient program so that she would have support from others who understood her and have counseling from one of their therapists to help with some specific issues she was struggling with at the time. After 3 months in the evening outpatient program, she was a different person. Now I am happy to say she has 6 months sober, is fully active in AA, and is enjoying life again. She was able to identify some of the things that had been holding her back while working with people who understood her. I was at a loss and didn't think anything would ever change but it has. If you have a loved one that needs help, reach out to these folks. They care, they know about addiction and they put things into perspective in a way that others never did or could! read more

Its a great place if you actually want to be helped, I didnt and wanted to be discharged but they wouldnt and kept trying to help me which made me run out the doors. The only thing they could do better is discharge people when they want to because you cant help nobody who doesnt want to be and they kept my phone and id. I wish i stayed though. read more

My uncle has been struggling with addiction for over 12 years. We finally decided to get involved and seek treatment for him. At first we were hesitant because we are from NY and he would be far away, but he needed the time away to focus on himself and gain skills needed to be successful. We met the Clinical Director and her team and they reassured us that he would be treated in a safe and nurturing place. He completed his first 15 days today and he has nothing but positive things to say about the staff and the treatment he's been receiving. I would give them 5 stars but with everything there's always a little room for improvement :) read more

Please DO NOT go, or send your loved ones to this nightmare/cluster of a place! They lie to you to get you in. When trying to communicate all the lies that are told, one is likely to hear the response "Sorry we don't have what the marketers promised, but you're not supposed to be comfortable in rehab"..... I was told that I'd have my own room in a nice big house. Instead I shared a GARAGE with 4 other girls and 1 bathroom. The women were moved to completely different residences, 4 separate times, throughout Sacramento and Folsom during my stay. All of this would have been fine by me if they let me know that this chaos was going to happen. I was also told that I would receive trauma/EMDR therapy, and when I got there, I was told that it was only offered to first responder clients. That's BS! They also admit very mentally ill clients (that need a much higher level of care), and attempt to mix them with the more stable clients, and it's scary. The house they eventually sent me too was nice, but the ceiling leaked, the electricity would sometimes work, and 2 out of 3 toilets were broken with 8 residents and 2 techs. We had no lamps or clocks in our rooms. They offered a heated pool and hot tub, but would not let us use it. For 3 weeks these problems were written down for the housing company (Capital Guest Services) to take care of and nothing was done. We can go in the kitchen, but we can't open the refrigerator.... They were very inconsistent with their rules and the communication through out the company was very poor. Side note - During my stay, 2 employees were fired for inappropriate behavior with the clients. One female employee slept with a client, and one male employee touched other male clients inappropriately multiple times. In conclusion, I would not recommend this place due to the lack of communication, the inconsistency, and the overall chaotic and disorganized atmosphere. These people really need to step their recovery game up. Cedar Point Recovery does not deliver safety, stability, nor an engaging group (that is 6 days a week). Do your research and don't buy into any of the marketing lies. Good luck, and I hope that this information will help anyone reading it. I was a client when they first opened. I am in the medical field and their nurse Jordan turned me in to the board after performing my interview. A huge HIPA violation. One of the reasons I delayed treatment was for this very reason. I contacted the head of the program several times after discovering this and they ignored me and never returned my calls. The program was absolutely terrible and the classes were consisted of the counselors reading the lessons. Please seek out somewhere else such as azure acres. read more

Run, don't walk, away from this place as fast as you can. Total scam. They ask for thousands up front and then billed my insurance over $50,000 for just 30 days of treatment. Then sent me another bill for over $6,000 nine months after my son had left....no acknowledgement of the $10,000 already paid. Ready to hire an attorney. Not great services either. They would not even let me see the actual house he was living in...unlike every other treatment center we have used. Poor communication and they did little more then babysit him for one month. He has now finished treatment in Utah and it's been a completely different experience. Shop around. There are much better recovery centers out there. This one just wants your money and to take advantage of Obamacare...billing thousands and thousands to insurance for treatment not even given. Shameful. My husband went here. The Detox center was great, kept in contact with me and I was able to check on him daily to see how he was. Once he was moved to the rehab facility I had no one to call and ask questions. When you call you reach a call center in Florida! How can they help me in Florida. They did not call to tell us about family days. As a matter of fact, they do not call the family at all! I found this very frustrating and disrespectful to the family. My husband said his time there has been ok and he is getting what he needs but alcoholism affects the family and they really need to do more to reach out to the immediate family. And I think it is ridiculous that when I call I reach a call center in Florida there should be somebody at that facility answering the phone 24/7! What if I had an emergency while he was gone and I had to wait for somebody to read an email to get back to me. It is not right! I would not recommend taking your loved ones here. For $25,000 I would choose a facility that you could actually call and talk to someone on site!! Super super disappointed!! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS REHAB FACILITY I DONT EVEN WANT TO GIVE IT 1 star. They falsely advertised their facility as a couples rehab. My boyfriend and I flew out to Sacramento as they said we had to get there as soon as possible because beds were filling up. This was a lie they just wanted to charge my insurance as soon as possible. When we got there they refused to let me see a doctor, they refused to take me to the hospital. Told me I had to discharge if I wanted to go to the hospital. Keep in mind I'm 6 hours from home. The rehab does not log their meds and all the nurses and staff are liars and manipulators. The first day they gave us absolutely no detox meds luckily we brought emergency methadone DAN was completely aware of the medicine we were not suppose to have. He encouraged my boyfriend to give the pills to me. They were supposed to detox me off of benzos and methadone. They promised me comfort meds. They gave me 8mg of suboxone the first day Andk the next day they gave me 4mg. I was throwing up going to the bathroom non stop it was the most horrible experience of my life. They pretty much were trying to make us cold turkey. They only allowed us medicine from cvs that could be bought in the store. They refused to give us a sleep aid and the normal detox medication. The nurses are unprofessional they did not give my boyfriend his seizure or blood clot medication. They assured me that their rehab specialized in methadone detox and they would keep us comfortable all of this was a lie. 25,000 a month charged by insurance thank god I only stayed for 3 days . The CEO came in and oh boy was she something. We stayed in the room for almost 3 days and on the 4th day we went on the couch and were watching tv and the ceo tries saying we act like we own the place when we had been locked up in our rooms for days. I've never been treated so poorly in my entire life. The director also was a duchy a** hole. My dad tried calling multiple times and they told me that my dad didn't want To talk to me. They wouldn't let me call my mom or dad they told me I had to discharge and then I could make a phone call. Do not go to this rehab it's like a jail very unprofessional horrible place read more

I wholeheartedly recommend and endorse the Cedar Point rehab program. I have been through two other programs, both times relapsing after 3-4 months out. When I found myself in trouble once again, by luck I found Cedar Point and entered into treatment there. I found the staff to be caring, friendly, and unquestionably knowledgeable and professional. I also found the treatment program to be different (in a good way) from my previous rehab experiences; The group meetings filled the day and were well worth the time. The emphasis was on educating us about every aspect of addiction. I gained a new perspective on my alcoholism and left there with a much better understanding of the physiological, mental and emotional effects of alcohol. Perhaps most important, I discovered new concrete, clear-cut strategies for recognizing and effectively dealing with the issues and my behaviors that had led me to relapse in the past. To sum it up, I learned more in my time at Cedar Point than I did in my previous two stays at other facilities and I recommend it to anyone who is really committed to recovery. I was fortunate to be there in the company of other serious people looking to work towards a better life. The bottom line is do not go here if you are just looking for an oil change. read more
