If you are reading this then you are probably like me struggling with the some sort of substance abuse and/or trauma. 4 years of active drug addiction, trauma pain, and a diminishing hope to recover... I was fortunately taken to Diamond House (DH) to detox. Unfortunately, it would not be my first time; however, I knew when I was at my lowest point, DH was a safe place to get back on my feet while being cared for with dignity and respect when I had none for myself. What is special and different about DH: -A Founder who does not label me as an addict rather treats me as a person who is suffering and in need of support. Vicky and her counselors have been instrumental in my recovery helping me w an individualized treatment plan to include psychiatric support, trauma treatment and next steps for recovery if I so choose. I never left the house feeling I was on my own to figure out what do next. -Though I had my own agenda after leaving during my 1st & 2nd visit, not once did the staff judge or me feel worse than I already did about another setback in my recovery. -I appreciate a beautiful homelike atmosphere in an intimate setting to come down when feeling my worst. A man in my 50's used to living on my own, I appreciated having my own bedroom and a beautifully decorated and impeccably clean home. -A caring staff who live the DH's mission statement and values. They created a safe and caring environment to begin the healing and helped me work trough my resistance to get me back in when I was struggling. -DH offers exposure to many modalities of recovery offering groups to understand substance abuse and recovery. Though you may feel like "crap", take advantage of the support offered. -You may have heard about Chris, the personal chef and about his amazing dishes... it's all true! This has been my 3rd visit to DH and I am just about to walk through the doors of a 90 day residential program. I have every intention of doing my best and following suggestions this time to stay sober. That being said, if should stumble again, I know where to go if I should need support to pick myself again. What can I say! Diamond House is an absolute amazing recovery and rehabilitation treatment facility. They offer medically, assisted detox and treatment. There is a wide range of therapies available. The course curriculum is extremely educational with everything from weekly nutritionist, weekly doctors, specializing in substance abuse, and mental health, an incredible registered nurse who speaks on a variety of topics. They bring in a personal trainer five days a week with a yoga instructor for Fridays. There is guided meditation, Sound Bowl therapy, Music Therapy, cinematic therapy, and yes, even laugh therapy. Some weekend outings have even included equine therapy (We got a pet the horses and feed them as well). I couldn't be happier that we also have access to daily meetings, AA and everything alike. I almost forgot to mention the food here is practically gourmet (It really is five star!) thank you to Carlos and all of the chefs. I have to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT, To all of the staff members here at Diamond House! I went to Diamond House Detox to get help with my alcohol abuse. For the last 9 years I have been drinking at least a fifth of Vodka a day, sometimes two in a day. I had tried to kick it myself, but I always relapsed quickly, and my life was going nowhere fast. I decided to try an in patient Detox, and found a really nice place online called Diamond House Detox. It is located in a very nice residential part of Elk Grove. If you drove by it you would think it was a normal house. The first couple days were pretty rough due to the withdrawals, but they give you some meds to help. After the first couple days, I knew I was in the right place. Their caregivers are absolutely amazing. They didn't look down on me at all, and the level of personal care I doubt you could find anywhere else. It is ran by Vicki, who is excellent at finding the right meds and course of action to help you recover. I have been out of there for a little while now, and they still keep in contact to see how I am doing or if I need anything. Oh and I can't forget Chris the on site Chef. He makes all your meals, and I didn't have a single thing for meals that wasn't amazing. He is also a great guy to talk to. While there everybody has their own bedroom, and they have two giant TV's with everything on them. In one room they have a separate room that has TV, a Fire Stick, and an XBOX One S. You can also smoke out back unlike most in patient facilities. I can't say enough about this place. It has completely changed my life for the better. I wanted to take some time to let the public know about Diamond House Detox. I've struggled with alcoholism for many years, and been in and out of different facilities i'm sorry to say. This time I was fortunate to land at D.H.D. This place is the poster child for what a detox or rehab should be. The personal and caring attention you receive from owner and staff is unparalleled in the industry, I mean they really set the bar. First of all they keep the place immaculate, from the private bedrooms to a out of this world personal "Chef" they take no short cuts when it comes to the care of who ever may step through there doors. The knowledge they have on how to care for an individual to make sure they have just what they need to recover in a safe and comfortable way was very impressive and shows the high level of there professionalism. they not only help you medically they also focus on the psychological side of addiction with different meetings from outside resources like AA / NA even what the call sound therapy which is an ancient form of Buddist meditation performed with crystal bowls very cool. !!!! I've battled with my alcoholism for over 12 years now. I've been to numerous Detox and Rehabilitation Centers, but never have received such a customized and individualized approach like I did at Diamond House. You're not just a number or feel like your needs are not being met. From a real life actual chef cooking gourmet meals on a daily basis, to the individual therapy sessions, group therapy meetings, day time and night time staff; I was surrounded by staff members that truly cared for me and what I was going through and how I felt. Something that helped me immensely, was a well planned out aftercare program. It was discussed and put together way before my exit date, which helped ease any worrying or distractions from my program while there. I Came to Diamond House Completely and Totally Rock Bottom.... When I arrived, I had no hope inside and I was done. However, I still wanted to drink. But knew I couldn't keep doing what I was doing. I really thought their was no hope for me and that I was too far gone for too long given with my Physical Heath issues, my Depression, PTSD and the List goes on. Then it changed. The Staff was Mind Blowing! Far beyond any expectation. The time that I was their, they honestly cared. Not just their to Clock-In for a paycheck. Everyone, their LOVES what they do. If you are a addicted to drugs like I was you probably make some bad choices. No fault of your own, drugs are a SOB! So I promise this will be the first of many good choices yu'll make and you can "bet the farm on it!" They have a Chef that I wish I could have brought home with me. I had a 189lb meth figure that I thought sexy...wrong! Anyway Chef changed that in 10 days to 203lbs, you can't stop eating his food!! The staff is AMAZING! They care like family but are at the same time 100% professionals. I still get a sad feeling when I think about all of them because I live to far for regular visits. I am forever grateful to have experienced Diamond House Detox, I am blessed to be spending the next 30 days at Diamond House Rehab. The staff is very attentive. I and talk and process with any staff member and they coach me through my recovery process. The food is outstanding. I feel I am dining at an upscale restaurant. The private bedrooms are luxurious, yet I feel like I am at home. I have a private bathroom and the huge TV are a bonus. This is the first facility where I haven't wanted to leave and use. I came to Diamond House for medically supervised detox from alcohol. It is a beautiful house where you get a private, comfortable room. The staff is kind, courteous, and attentive. They serve gourmet meals three times a day. They have regular counseling sessions, relapse prevention, and one on one therapy. They will also help you find next step placements if needed.
