It's a difficult review because I really enjoy the ride! There are some beautiful spots during the trail as the Natural Area where is just 1 yes, ONE parking spot and it is almost unnoticeable! And I'm still not very sure it is but I just wanted to investigate that part ;) There is another parking lot where the pond is. I read some reviews about mugglers but took the risk and it was beautiful! No salmon there and freezing water but my dog was very excited still! I was very conscious about her not swimming because of the season ;) Then we went to the parking lot below the bridge. This one is the best. More people and more salmon so you can watch from the top of the bridges during your hike. It is paved and lit of people around. You can walk all the way from the Research Area to the I90 where it gets super noisy :( but still lovely to see salmon and the park. You can also enjoy the big dog park. It is great because there are always dog friends, water, and balls!

Iconic cedar river, where the salmon roam.

This fairly flat, popular, paved pathway is typical of area trails. It can get quite busy, especially in warmer weather because of the shade and river breeze that kisses you softly. The trailhead in Renton is pretty busy, so if you're not privileged enough to not drive here, you'll get to laugh at people looking for a parking spot. The nearby dog park adds to people going here but also keeps them rotating. Most of the trail follows fairly closely but there is no risk of flooding unlike further down stream. There is a small risk of rocks falling from above, but I've yet to witness anything like that. If you're looking for a spot to traverse Renton without needing to compete with vehicle traffic, this is your route. It will break off to take you north or south so you can get to your final destination, but I expect you will be considering whether or not going back to civilization is the right choice. I wish I was back on the trail again.

The Cedar River Trail along Maple Valley Highway, Renton

The Cedar River Trail is a rails-to-trails redevelopment of an old railroad bed that runs from Lake Washington in Renton, Washington (near the mouth of the Cedar River) to Maple Valley, where the trail becomes unpaved and turns into the Snoqualmie Valley Trail which goes on for miles. The CRT is paved and runs along the river for most of its length. Some of it is quite urban and you can walk right past coffee kiosks and underneath freeways. It's a great skate and bike path as well as of course walking path. There are many convenient spots to park your car along Maple Valley Highway (SR 169) so it's easy to plan a short walk or a long hike.

    Come walk a while!

Nice trail, quiet and peaceful. The runners and bikers on the trail are usually respectful.

I initially contacted Center Cycles over the phone on a bike I was interested in, and right from the start, I was impressed by his commitment to customer satisfaction. One of the standout moments during my visit was when Dave, the owner, went above and beyond to price match the sale another bike store was having, as well as put the bike together within half a day's notice so I could test ride the bike that same day. Finding a trustable bike store is hard to do and after my visit, I have nothing but a 100% trust in this store. Center Cycles only had a 49 cm size of the exact bike I was interested in (which is what I currently ride) but they also had a 52 cm size of the bike but a higher end model. I test rode both and the 52 cm to me felt like a much better fit. Their bike fitter, along with other Center Cycles staffing, assessed my fit and all agreed that the 52 cm was the correct size for me. Instead of pushing me towards a sale, they prioritized my comfort and safety. This level of honesty and integrity is a rare find in any business. Throughout my visit, everyone at Center Cycles displayed an incredible level of friendliness and professionalism. They genuinely cared about my cycling experience and were more concerned about finding the right bike for me than making a quick sale. If you're looking for a bike shop that prioritizes your needs, offers exceptional service, and values honesty above all else, Center Cycles is the place to go.

I have also recommended him to my friends. I recently put in an order for another DH bike and I realized not once had I taken the time to highlight how great this shop and it's services are. Her bike arrived unassembled and I needed to try to get this Put together as quickly as possible. She was very accommodating and told me to bring the bike in and they would get it taken care of for me. Drove in on my lunch hour and Kim got me in right away. She went to work on the bike herself and was able to get everything taken care of in under an hour. Outstanding and amazing service and very friendly and easy to deal with. I can't stress how professional they are, and they cater to the cycling crowd. They don't just fix bikes. They compete as well. Thank you very much for everything!

The salesperson was finishing up with another customer. I was then promptly ignored as other customers walked in the door and he started talking to them (despite the fact that I was standing right in front of the salesperson). I was actually interested in getting a new floor pump. I was waiting for the sales guy to stop even for just as second to say, "are you doing okay?", but nope. I guess I didn't rate for whatever reason. Perceived fitness level, income....? I checked out the floor pumps. They didn't seem to be particularly well made, although the Dual Charger gets good reviews online. No reaction from the sales person as he dealt with other people and ignored me. I heard guys in the back, service area, talking, talking, talking. Did the one sales guy holler to the back and get someone to come out since he apparently can only deal with one customer at a time? Nope. I started to make my way out but stopped to look at the shoes that had clearance signage, but couldn't actually get at them because they were blocked by multiples bikes still in boxes shoved up against the shoe display. One more chance for anyone in the store to try to sell me something. I didn't even get a "thanks for stopping in". This is a real shame. A Trek was the first "real" bike I bought with my own money as a teenager. I have fond memories of Trek. I'm just getting back into cycling again. I actually have money to spend at this stage of my life. The single most important thing you can do in retail is acknowledge and greet the customer. And as the saying goes, you only have one chance to make a first impression. I bought a pump elsewhere, as well as some jerseys and shorts. (Full disclosure: if I seem a little harsh, I worked in bicycle and outdoor retail for 10 years, as a tech, service manager and store manager. I used to be quite passionate about cycling, hence I have opinions.)
