The owner of the shop is a man by the name of Christian. He is extremely offputting. Christian believes that his opinion about bikes should be everyone's opinion. Multiple times he has insulted equipment that I own that I actually purchased from his shop. Multiple times he has insulted me or my friends For requesting bike parts that he doesn't carry "it would be stupid to have that in my shop". His attitude seems to be infectious because all of the employees at his shop appear to not care about the level of customer Service they are providing. Honestly, I don't believe Christian at ride bikes would care if I or any other customer never returned again. I have no idea how or why he is still in business. read more

I bought such a rad bike here! It's SO good! Had a lot of fun on my first ride and I just know it's gonna be a beautiful friendship. They have a great location with all the trails around Issaquah, and lots and lots of drool-worthy stuff to lust over. I live right up the street from the 'OG RIDE' and had stopped in here and there for parts mostly. Everyone was cool and unpretentious (not my typical bike shop vibe). When Ride-Issaquah opened, I thought I'd stop by after a ride a Tokul and check out the shop. Norco, Rocky Mountain, Kona are the bike brands they seemed to carry and they had a solid selection of Fox apparel and parts by Diety, PNW Components and many others. I didn't have them work on my bike but cool vibes and a tidy shop will have me coming back in the future. Rented a mountain bike from these guys the day before riding Tiger Mountain. They set me up with pedals, norco sight 2, tubeless tires, helmet. The bike was set up with rock shox lyrik, I forget what rear sus was. The bike was perfectly set up for my height and weight. Very impressed, it felt like it was my personal bike. The bikes were all set up when I arrived so they had me in and out in 5 minutes, no fuss. I did forget to return my helmet so my friend offered to take it back for me later as they were closed at the time and i was flying out next morning. I discovered Ride Bicycles a couple years ago when shopping for my first eMTB. They were recommended by another trusted local shop owner and he was absolutely right. They have a wide range of demos to choose from and Christiaan the owner (who has a wealth of knowledge) helped dial in and customize the build on my medium Norco Range VLT. Since then I've felt like a member of the family and get the best service and support when I need it. I've had a couple warranty issues involving different components/manufacturers and both were handled smoothly thanks to the support of the shop. Coming up on 2 years of riding this bike hard on steep and gnarly trails it's in top shape and is an absolute blast to ride every time. Highly recommend these guys! read more

I was in need of a new mountain bike and went to multiple stores before finding my bike at RB. I love smaller businesses and try to buy from them first. I went to another smaller shop in the area and was treated like an idiot because I wasn't a hardcore mountain biker who knew the lingo. Feeling super compelled to find a bike, I came upon Ride Bicycles and met some super kind people who answered my questions and were patient in helping me. The vibe in this store was completely different. I really felt like I was getting to pick out the right bike for me and my needs. They weren't trying to upsell me on the most expensive bikes like the other store did. I felt like I was getting value for my money, and real advice relative to my needs. I LOVE My new bike. I ended up getting an Ibis. and it's perfect in every way! I now can keep up with the kiddos on the trails. read more

Rented a mountain bike and headed straight to Tiger Mountain based on Raj's rec. one of my best biking days ever. So cal trails are great but the loamy and flowy trails seemed like they went forever. Bike was set up for my weight with correct pedals spd and the right size despite me being a tweener of large vs medium. Spot on setup for the ride. Every single trail was perfect for what I asked. Had to buy a tshirt to commemorate the ride, just wishing I had another day to ride! Highly recommended ! read more

I have been assembling bikes for many years. I brought my bike into Ride Bicycles of Issaquah to be assembled as I did not have any tools with me. I live in Europe now and had my bike hard cased and in storage here. I removed everything from the bicycle hard case (which I had packed) and also tuned before I packed it. I went to Ride Bicycles and I brought in my completely built frame , two wheels/tires assembled and a fully and assembled hand bar with the shifter etc attached, 2 pedals, a seat post with the saddle mounted and a chain. They also were going to install my 2 new ergo grips which I supplied them. I negotiated a price of $99 . By most standards a 20 minute assembly. I agreed and received a pick up tag for $99. When I picked up my bike they charged my credit card and I left. After looking at my credit card statement I was charged $165.09. I called and they apologized for charging me for my own grips and would credit it back to my credit card. They would not honor the $99 negotiated quote. They said it is only an estimate and they reserve the right if it takes longer etc and that the normal boxed rate is $175. I explained all parts were assembled and it was not boxed and should have taken about 15 minutes max to assemble and this is why Brett committed to $99. From my perspective a very lousy way of doing business...It not the $20... it's the principle of the commitment I received. If I knew they were going to up the quote to $120 I would have bought a couple of tools and assembled it myself. Shame on you Ride Bicycles of Issaquah!! read more

I can't say enough about my experience with the team at Ride. I went in there to buy my first emtb on Sunday. I had done some research, because I am a larger guy, so I needed a bike that would support my weight. I spoke to Ryan and we talked through all the options, he showed me some bikes, we talked geometry, riding style, etc. He sent me home with some homework since I needed to answer some of my own questions before he could help me. Fast forward to Friday(today). I went back armed with all the Google info I could find. Ryan and Scott both helped me and took a lot of time to answer all my questions and eventually I bought one of their used rental bikes. They took the time to help me setup sag, change rear springs, setup front air pressure, change pedals, set tire pressures, etc. They spent nearly 3 hours with me and at no point made me feel uncomfortable or not "one of them." Remember, I'm a bigger dude. Setting up a full suspension bike for a 300+ lb guy could be a joke for some. At no point did they indicate at all that I was different. It was business as usual for them and a good experience. I can't thank them enough. I'm so happy with the bike. I stopped at my local bike spot on my way home to ride my usual trails. It's cold and the trails are frozen, but such an amazing difference. I can't wait to ride it again. Thank you guys. I truly appreciate your help. Ride on!! read more

Christian at Ride Bicycles took fantastic care of us. We rented a couple of e-bikes for a ride nearby but those are too heavy for the bike rack that would fit on the rental car. Christian went out of his way and actually led us to the start of a nearby trail that would get us out riding.
