I had a good time laughing and exchanging jibs about Garrett's popcorn in my childhood hometown -- Chicago! I was told to try the "Chicago" label from this shop. I warily agreed and promised to write what I discovered! First, let me say! Garrett's is my all time FAVORITE!! I am one of those people who would stand in the line that wraps around the block for hours in the sub zero weather just to buy a bag of the cheesy caramel mix! I have to report, with a heavy heart ... I will not be driving to Chicago for Garrett's again! As the owner promised, this popcorn is wonderful! It was WI cheesy and the caramel made me feel all Christmasy sweet and buttery inside (and I don't celebrate Christmas)! The moonshine is not what we expected- when we typically thing moonshine we think its going to burn and have no taste- not the case here. Everything we tried was delicious and could be enjoyed straight. I also love that most of the moonshine is sold in mason jars. When you visit, there are moonshine flavors available to sample- we tried Caffe Espresso (and left with a bottle of this!), pumpkin pie, and root beer. Samples are $2 and very generous! We also ordered a moonshine mixed drink to go- the blue-raspberry drink had their blue moonshine with lemonade and white grape juice (maybe vodka or something else too) - but it was delicious! We will definitely be back to visit next time we are up this way.
