Took the kids in for a small treat! Right now they have a lot of Easter themed candy that is all made in house. Their chocolate is awesome! I love their dark chocolate! I have been exclusively buying my caramel apples from Amy's for nearly a decade now. I don't bother with anyone else. Amy's apples and their chocolate goodies are top tier. I make the two-hour drive from Chicago at least 2-4 times a year. You honestly can't go wrong with anything. A plain sea salt caramel apple? A peanut butter cup? Some truffles? They're all delicious. I would also take great caution when looking at their website. The website prices are at least a 50% markup. I've heard such wonderful things about Amy's and even had the pleasure of trying the delicious snickers caramel apple last year. Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Amy's for myself. Wow! The place is busy as expected. However, I felt very overwhelmed and rushed by staff the minute I walked in. The store isn't huge and obviously busy, however, the rush gave me a negative taste. When I enter a chocolate shop/candy store, I'd like to be able to look around at everything offered to see what I'd like. Unfortunately, I did not get that vibe here at all and I'm bummed. There's tons in the case offered and lots to look at on the shelves, but very hard to do so when people won't allow you through and staff are rushing people. I skipped the well known caramel apples and grabbed 2 pretzel rods, and a bag of the pretzels with toffee. The price was high, however, I value quality. We were walking around downtown and happened by Amy's and the caramel apples in window looked amazing. We tried to get in but it was so crowded we couldn't even get in the door. We decided to wait till the next morning and try again. Much better, we didn't realize what a famous place this is. Everything looked awesome. It was so hard to choose form but we decided on a plan caramel, peanut, and pecan. We also got some other types of candy. Everything was great, the apples are so fresh and packaged so well. Every time I visit my in-laws in Wisconsin I make it a point to stop here because I cannot find a place in California that has chocolate covered pretzel rods that are nearly as good as this place. Oh Amy's Candy Kitchen - what have you done to me?!?! I cannot stop thinking about my caramel apple... While visiting Cedarburg, we passed Amy's as we walked along the main street for shopping and dining. So of course we stopped in twice because once was not good enough. The gorgeous apples called my name every time I walked by. The candies look lovingly made. So many choices for every taste and craving. I had my eye on the caramel apples as there were sooo many varieties. I settled on a salted caramel version that was much better than I expected. The creamy caramel with a hint of sea salt over a crisp delicious apple really set me off. Every bite was perfection. My friend enjoyed her apple with caramel and peanuts and also bought some beautiful Easter milk chocolates that she loved. Everything is so adorable in this cute spot. It feels like an old fashioned sweets shop from back in the day. The young girls working were so sweet and helpful. It was busy and they assisted everyone easily. Very nice location and excellent selection. My wife got an assortment of bulk chocolates that were outstanding but a bit pricey at $34/pound. They have a wonderful selection of chocolate dipped apples with various added candies and other toppings. They were huge and beautiful but again a bit pricey at $7-11 per apple. Service was a little slow and we were there on a Friday afternoon with school back in session. Excellent quality but a little expensive. Suspect paying for the quaint locale a bit but if you are in the area and desire some fine chocolate this would still be a good choice. read more

Excellent. I will definitely return. Their caramel apples are fantastic. Really. The caramel is softer, like a real caramel candy, not overly sweet and they use Granny Smith apples, an excellent choice. They use lightly salted pecans on one, so you get a wonderful balance sweet and salty. Their pricing is surprisingly reasonable. At the time of this review, a plain caramel apple was $8.50, and I feel it was certainly worth it. They box them very nicely, so they travel well and make excellent gifts. When you really wanna say "I love you" to someone send them one of these apples. From the first bite to the last bite I felt the love. My mouth was in a tantric state of euphoria as I savored each bite. Honestly the finest tasting carmel apple I've ever eaten in my life. Creamy gourmet caramel that surrounds the apple sets this apart from all others, the confectioner is a mad genius. I travel to Cedarburg about 2x/year. Knowing I was going, I was excited to get a cashew milk chocolate turtle apple. Went to Amy's and ordered the apple along with 2 separate chocolate candies. The clerk asked me several times what kind of candies I wanted and what kind of apple. I thought to myself, how many times do I need to tell her. The following day I opened my apple box only to find it was not the apple that I ordered. I was so disappointed. It was a pecan apple. I called the customer service line and explained the situation to someone who said she only handles business orders and then asked me if I had the receipt and also asked if the apple was eaten. I did not have the receipt (but again I paid with a cc so they should be able to see my charge) and yes, my spouse ended up eating the apple (did the clerk want me to throw it out?). She then stated she would pass my concern on to the store and look for my cc purchase and that she would get back to me. This never happened and I was completely ghosted. Will not go back!!! Considering you charge $11 per apple, you should treat your customers like gold!! read more

I have heard the apples are hand selected for size and quality. We only once had bad tasting apples, based on the high quality we've come to experience with Amy's and called them. This place has really gone down hill in the last few years. The caramel consistency is softer and not as sweet. It's like caramel sauce. The apple itself has been hit or miss as far as flavor and the customer service is lacking when they make a mistake with your purchase. The apples are over priced too. I usually check out places on Yelp first but since I ran out of data minutes I just relied on my gut instinct. This chocolate version of heaven will make any non-chocolate lover second guess their reason for shunning the cocoa bean. Featured on NBC and visited by Al Roker himself, this small factory has caught the attention of people beyond the state line for its incredible, artistic, and creative versions of carmel apples. The store windows are lined with a hundred or so of various carmel, chocolate covered apples with the wildest toppings ever. From the all familiar peanut topped apple to those covered in your favorite sugar cereal, you won't walk out of this place without taking one with you. And, if you do shame on you! They have plenty of gift ideas and glass cases that are stocked with chocolate covered bacon, turtles, truffles.... I could go on and on. They start with nice, tart Granny Smith apples and apply a thick layer of homemade buttery caramel, and then roll that in other delicious stuff. You will never eat a more perfect apple than at Amy's. First, you are idly strolling the streets of downtown Cedarburg. Suddenly you are sidetracked by what can only be described as "The Mecca of Carmel Apples" towering before you. You are in its tractor beam and it is pulling you in. Do you know why? Because there are Caramel Apples with Gummy Worms and Dirt Cake topping, Cashews, Chocolate and Chili Powder, White Chocolate and Apple Pie Spice, Black Forest, the list goes on and on. You have to see it to understand. That old adage: You're like a kid in a candy shop - it's a literal statement here. You will most likely ping pong between the racks of apples in the front window, tissue in hand, trying to whittle down your apple choice. Don't sweat it babe, you can't go wrong. Each apple is huge in its diameter, they are heavy and dense Granny Smith's and when you cut into them you will find they are in pristine condition with nary a blemish. How they pick such magnificent apples is a mystery to me. Surrounding the luscious apple is a very generous layer of sweet, buttery, rich caramel and if you went for one of the topped apples, another layer of cookies, nuts, spices, candies, etc. Picking up the apples sometimes requires a backhoe due to their heft. One is certainly enough for two people to share, although sharing , eh, its overrated..... When finally, you pick your apple, you bring it to the checkout counter, and they box it up for you in a perfectly cute bronze, cube. It's so exciting, getting that little cube, I feel like I am getting a birthday present or something. I need to warn you though, most people on their way up to the counter with their apple in hand will no doubt get distracted by the chocolates that flank the walls and grace the glass counter cases. Luckily, I am a mutant who loathes chocolate and therefore am impervious, however I've seen my fair share of patrons unable to resist the chocolate temptations. The staff is always nice, and jovial. Although, I suspect they have a contact high being surrounded by all that sugar. I like to imagine them swirling around the kitchen like magical pixies making all the candies and apples with a dusting of love and a spoonful of sugar.
