They have a well rounded curriculum that works beautifully. This is my son's last year there and I am confident that he will have an educational advantage from attending this wonderful school. Deanna does a great job running it and planning festivities for various occasions. They definitely made a wonderful impact on my sons education, social skills and independence and for that I am forever grateful.

This is a review from a previous client…read more I wanted to wait and write a review when I was not upset. I have waited a few months, but now due to a safety concern for other children, I feel this should be written. These are the facts about what happened with one of my kids that attended faithful futures. Names are left out to protect the identity of the kids. I went to pick my kids from Faithful Futures located in Rockmart, GA. When I picked the kids up, we were about to leave and all five of them at the time made the comment that Mr. Austin, (The owner's son) put his hands on one of my kids, shaking his head, and yelling at him. I went in there and confronted Mr. Austin, and he lied to me about it. I demanded to speak with Deana, but she was not there. I left after that and attempted to try and call Deana but couldn't make contact. I took my child to the ER to get him checked out. While I was there, I received a phone call and spoke with the owner, Mrs. Deana and told her what was going on. She stated that her son did admit to putting his hands on the child, but it was to get his attention. I find this to be absurd, and hardly believe this. I believe Faithful futures was just trying to cover this up. She stated the cameras were down and couldn't see what happened. I find this very convenient for Mr. Austin to get away with this. Deana then started explaining that my child was messing with another special needs child making him cry. She did not acknowledge that our child had some trauma/special needs. In my opinion, the owner tried to play this off and blame our child. Deana did tell me in an email that since her son admitted to putting his hands on a child, she terminated his employment. After this happened, I still tried to work something out with Deana that our child could stay there because we have never had an issue with her. She has always been great to work with and I just did not want her son to come back on the property. She stated a few days later that she was meeting with her lawyer. She finally spoke with me and said she was advised that we not come back. This was horrible news, because my child was the victim of battery, and we should not be the ones having to leave. We found a much better day care in Rockmart after that. During months after this, one of my children kept telling me that Mr. Austin is teaching again at the day care, and I did not believe that. I said how do you know, and she stated one of her friends from school goes there and said he was there. I finally met up with another adult who keeps their children at Faithful Futures, and we talked. She stated that Mr. Austin was back there. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. If he did this to my child, I could only imagine him doing this to other children. I know see why she didn't not want to keep him away and make us leave the day care. I believe it was her intentions to hire her son back after she thought this would blow over. I would not recommend this day care to anyone because of what went on here.

Upon asking for a meeting with the head of school, she refused, as I had not spoken with all of her subordinates first, even though I was paying almost $1000 per month for a glorified daycare. They spent most of their day outside, even in the hottest hours of the sun... in the dead of summer. I was highly disappointed with CBMS. They lack in diversity, and it is evident. I even wondered, at times, if race played a part in the "issues" they had with my two year olds behavior. They are not equipped to deal with any kind of transitional period for toddlers. I began getting calls to pick up my toddler two days after school began because he was crying at nap time, even though, Tracy told me that they were amazing with the kids and helping them transition. They were very supportive of my son having a bottle at nap time, and even said that they are willing to rock kids in the rocking chair, if a child is having a hard time at nap time. Then, once I paid the $800 non refundable registration fee and the contract, Tracy told me that rocking and bottles are not aligned with the Montessori way of creating independence. I would have appreciated it more, if they told me that when I was touring their facility, instead of trying to sell me on the dream, just to get the money. One of the "issues" was that my two year old would tap the teacher on the shoulder when he wanted her attention.... again, he's two. Their expectations are unrealistic. My child is not a robot, and he is an amazing kid because of that. CBMS is just not cut out for anyone who wants a positive, encouraging environment for their child. They don't even believe in saying "good job" or "wow! That was great! I'm proud of you" to kids. I wish I had been warned about them, prior to paying so much to receive so little. We left before this point, but beware- at the 6 week mark, they can dismiss your child if you don't align with ALL of their beliefs and if your child hasn't adjusted to the Montessori way (which is apparently playing by themselves and napping on their own with no transitions). Positive: The afternoon teacher, Bailey, was amazing! We loved her and her positive attitude and outlook. She always had a smile on her face, and the kids respond very well to her positive energy!

It also fosters independence and my kids are capable of so many things that I never thought they would be at their ages. The teachers are kind and patient, but firm, and they really get to know you children and appreciate who they are as individuals. The fresh, healthy snacks from a local co-op are just a bonus. My only problem with the school is that it doesn't go past age 6. We'll be so sad to leave!

We were planning on homeschooling but I still wanted our kids to start with some school environment experience. Smyrna Montessori School was everything we were looking for. My children get lots of individual attention, are encouraged to explore and learn as much as they want and have had some wonderful friendships develop. There is a strong sense of respect modeled through kindness towards the teachers, classmates, learning materials and the world (cultures, the environment). The teachers love my children like they were their own and are passionate about the Montessori style of learning. Both of my children have gained a lot of confidence and independence since they began there. If I ever have a question I can set up a time to talk with any teacher. I'm always impressed with how aware they are of everything my child deals with on a daily basis, what their strengths are, how much progress they have made in areas of behavior, character and learning. I do wish they extended beyond the Primary program (3-6 years). I don't think there is any problem with illness any different than any other school environment. I don't love that the lead toddler teacher spot has changed hands a few times, but I understand that when a teacher has a baby she will want to take time to be with her new baby. This has been the only reason for teachers leaving that I am aware of. Those teachers have stayed in contact with the school and return for visits when possible. We feel very fortunate to be at Smyrna Montessori School and are so happy it opened at the perfect time for our kids. And as far as safety goes, our children are referred to as precious gifts, children are not allowed out of the classroom unless a teacher or parent is with them and the school and yard are secured during the day. I have no concern for my children's safety at all. Montessori is a different approach to learning than what a lot of people are used to, but for us it has been perfect. Oh, and I LOVE that I get an email and photos every week from each of my kids teachers touching on what the kids are working on and enjoying and some explanation about the Montessori process.
