Employees were friendly and very helpful to the point at the checkout the sacker spoke up about a special price on 3 boxes of Chex cereal as my mother in law was making the second batch of Chex Mix. Everything we needed was there - though she was looking for Chocolate Orange and they didn't have any. So close to Christmas the place was packed though and it was difficult to navigate. Given how much snowfall there was the parking lot was in need of another scraping. And also given how far north it is and the amount of snow St Ignace receives I think they should have a longer entry area to make sure snow covered boots can be shed of the snow instead of making the whole store's floor slick and wet as you walk and it melts off.

There actually is another Doud's down Main Street toward the ferry area, but it's a smaller grab-and-go convenience store, mostly with snacks and coffee. My hotel was right across the street, so I bopped into Doud's a couple of times during my stay, to grab a bottle of wine (they have a decent selection of wine), some candy for my kids, and some fruit because I needed to eat something fresh. The store is tidy and everything is arranged nicely. They also have self-checkout kiosks, so you can get in and out quickly.
