Given how much snowfall there was the parking lot was in need of another scraping. And also given how far north it is and the amount of snow St Ignace receives I think they should have a longer entry area to make sure snow covered boots can be shed of the snow instead of making the whole store's floor slick and wet as you walk and it melts off.

There actually is another Doud's down Main Street toward the ferry area, but it's a smaller grab-and-go convenience store, mostly with snacks and coffee. My hotel was right across the street, so I bopped into Doud's a couple of times during my stay, to grab a bottle of wine (they have a decent selection of wine), some candy for my kids, and some fruit because I needed to eat something fresh. My family was antsy to get to our destination after a four hour drive, so we were hoping for a quick grocery run, but it was far from quick. They have the basics but not all of the products / brands we were looking for... We added some beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to our cart, as well as some snacks and went to check out. We chose the shortest line, put our items on the conveyer belt and then were told that the register could not take credit card - only cash or check. Annoying but my husband was willing to pay with cash, so we stayed in that line vs. finding another line to wait in. When it was our turn, we were then told that they were going to reboot the register and that we should move to another lane. We did that and then when I went to pay and showed my license, they had an issue with entering that information, so it literally took another 10 minutes to figure that out. I felt bad for the employee working the register as it was not her fault, clearly, but it was not a good customer experience shopping here. Needless to say, if you have options to shop for your groceries elsewhere, I would advise doing so.
