Trust the reviews. They told me it'll take a week for my contacts to arrive and it's now been a month. They never answer the phone either

I made a mistake but not checking the Yelp reviews first. I checked google reviews and they were "good enough" but I didn't think to check Yelp. Celebration Eye Care Center is genuinely trying to rip people off for their own financial gain. Here I am thinking I am supporting a small business instead of going to a corporate optometrist and this was such a mistake! 1. They do not value your time. You can show up early and you will still wait 30-45 minutes. Dr. Grand (the older doctor, this place is ran by the grandmother and her granddaughter who is also an optometrist) seemed like a nice enough woman until she took over an hour to do a simple exam/contact lens fitting and then didn't tell me that I'd have to come back again in two week to see her to get my prescription. They won't give it to me until I come back. Okay fine, I guess I will take another day off of work to come in and have my eyes looked at for 2 seconds not like my time is valued to them anyway... 2. They use scare tactics and purposely do not tell people their rights. I looked up my rights, but have never had to do this before with any other eye place because I never have felt like someone took advantage of me. BY LAW IN FLORIDA your contact lens prescription is valid AT LEAST two years. And for glasses FIVE YEARS. They purposely attempt to write it for shorter so you have to come back more often. 3. Mind you, I've been wearing 2-week contacts for over 15 years, they switched me to a one a day contact (same brand) and refuse to give me my prescription until I come back and have them "checked." I went back to get them "checked" and she asked me how they were and then handed me the prescription. Didn't even bother to look at my eyes. At the end when I went to checkout, they were angry I wouldn't buy my contacts there. I had to ask for all my prescriptions and since then have been trying to order contacts myself from 1800 contacts, but they won't approve the order saying my prescription is valid. So I'm currently dealing with going back and forth with 1800-contacts proving to them I have a valid prescription on paper, but can't get their office to respond. They simply want to waste your time and charge you more money, all while selling you "oh we are a small family run business!!" Family ran businesses should take care of their patients and not nickel & dime you. They should not be shady and do things that are unethical. I will be reporting this business to the FTC. Super disappointing- I do NOT recommend going to see anyone in the "Grand Family" unless you want your time wasted and to be overcharged. read more

Save yourself some heartache and go elsewhere. If there is a billing error and there is a chance you are due money back, don't expect to get it or any answers as to what happened. You will most likely just be met with a rude response from the lady who answers the phone read more

While my exam was thorough the following customer service was terrible. Called many times leaving multiple messages but never got a return call. After two weeks of continuous calling finally got through to reorder contacts. Almost a month later and still no contacts. Highly recommend you look elsewhere. read more

The ladies here are fantastic. They are so helpful and are always ready to help find the perfect glasses and help keep our eyes healthy. I have been coming here for close to 8 years and Dr. Margaret Grand is wonderful; She is so personable and really knows the ins and outs of keeping your eyes healthy. The selection of up to date fashionable eye wear is great. Nothing outdated and working at a company that requires a certain look they know that and have plenty to choose from. Celebration Eye Care - Optometrists Near Me - Celebration, Florida

I came here as a new patient and even originally did not have a good experience. My appointment took two hours because at one point I was waiting 30 minutes in the waiting room. I paid an extra almost $200 for my lenses to be thinner on my glasses and got the glasses pictured. I paid for the exam and my insurance was charged, but they will not release my prescription so I could get glasses. I was traveling so I waited the two weeks they require to go back, and then whenever I tried to call no one answered and they'd take sometimes 48 hours to get back to me, by which time I could not make their times. Now I can't even order contacts from anyone else as they are not allowing me to have my prescription. Honestly feel scammed. Would not recommend. read more

The people here are entirely unhelpful, terrible customer service. If you have time to waste and a lot of patience I would suggest this place. But this is not an establishment to visit, they also overcharge and give you terrible rates on your insurance even if they're in your network. I read the bad reviews and thought I give them a chance but I was wrong. Go elsewhere that prioritizes customer convenience and service. Will not be returning ever. read more

Poor excuse for an optical provide!!! You show up early and have to wait 45+ minutes after your scheduled appointment unacceptable. If your running behind please be hones. We make appointments for a reason. We have other obligations that have to happen. Waiting to be seen that late has consequences on your other obligation! when asked how long the process would be for a basic eye exam would be the answer I got it would take awhile because it's an eye exam. You do these all day you have a basic knowledge of how long it will take. Only go here if you don't have a life and time is not a concern. They don't care about you only your insurance and your Cash. Customer service is a Huge ZERO. Care Consideration for patients is a Zero. In today's economy you can be replaced and I am doing so with a better and more honest provide! read more

Dr. Grand and her staff are wonderful! I've Been going there, for many years. When I'm not home in KY., I'm in Orlando, so as you can (see), I am completely satisfied, and haven't had a single issue. (Except my car caught fire, but that's another story). I'll continue to go there for as long as the doors are open. read more

This is the worst experience I ever had with a doctor appointment, they are triple booked for my spot and I arrived 15 min before my appointment and I waited more than one hour , I had to cancel all my meeting's at work for a pre booked appointment, this doctor need to learn how to respect other people time, this is so unprofessional of her, I will not recommend her and I will not go back to her ever. read more

I already had my prescription so I was looking for a new eye doctor "home" after relocating from CT...I called ahead and asked if I needed an appointment. The receptionist told me no appointment was necessary...only to give some advance notice for after hours from 5-7. I stopped by while on vacation and had my parents with me. We had lunch at the Tavern and went over after 2. We sat for an hour waiting for someone to help me. I literally had the prescription in hand and 2 pairs of glasses ready to purchase...over $600 in retail. I will never go back...so disrespectful. read more

But this followup went well, fast and I was in/out of there in 25 minutes; very good for this place. HORRIBLE customer service at the front desk. I never ever experienced a medical facility lack in picking up phone calls or even returning phone calls in a timely manner. And if you have any questions in regards to certain pricing on insurance, front desk lady will give multiple quotes and she will then say, I don't know, I didn't go to school so I don't know about the coding. That doesn't sound like its my problem or any of the patients problem. You have to have some sort of general qualification to do your job if you are going to be giving pricing to customers. We are only continuing coming here because we cant get an eye exam for the next few months because of the health insurance plan. I really do hope this office takes care of this matter because doctor wise, they are great. But staff really needs to be looked at and for god sake, can someone at least answer the phone read more

Thought I found a great place but my experiences did not show that. It took me 6 months to get glasses. First of all it takes about 4-5 weeks each time you have to wait to receive them. First time they came the top was in the bottom and bottom in the top so back they had to go another 5 weeks. After that 2 more time they had to go back . Next time they thought I would benefit from having computer glass in them except when they came to see the computer I had to be 2 inches away. She checked and the prescription was wrong. So back they went. This time I said no computer glass in the top. Just my close up prescription in the bottom part so I could see tiny when working. Five weeks latter I got glasses but the whole lens was for closeup which I did not want so back they went. 5 weeks latter I finally got glasses the way I wanted them. I had to pay a extra hundred some dollars for the progressive lens. Oh but then sitting here the other day I realized wait I paid for progressive lens to begin with thats why the top and bottom got mixed up. The guy who actually gives you your glasses is very rude dosnt listen when you tell him the glasses are not right just tells you there right. Didn't have you sit and put them on and check that they fit right and give you something to read to see if every thing is ok. Basically here are your glasses have a good day. Dr grand is sweet but seems not to remember what she tells you from one appt to the next a few weeks later will say she never said that when its exactly what she said. They have some very advanced technology with screenings for different conditions and ailments of the eye. However, I never been seen on-time and some appointments have taken 2+ hours. I have typical vision problems that require contacts/glasses, so no special care is needed for each appointment. I believe there is only one optometrist for the office (seen the same one each time) and I feel they overbook appointments. Scheduled me for a late afternoon appointment and saw me 30 minutes late and then scheduled me to come back because they were closing. Staff is very nice, especially the receptionist. read more

Its time for Dr. Grand to retire. She may have been good at one time. She did my prescription completely wrong. Here entire staff is rude and incompetent. The optical dept is a joke. If you are looking for an office with great customer service and little wait time. This is not the place to go. Wait times are up to 3 hrs , the office manager is rude and does a poor job with insurance claims and ask you to pay for things that you shouldn't have to. I gave it one star only because I couldn't rate it worst. read more

The staff at this location is perfectly friendly most of the time, and Dr. Grand is fine-not wildly friendly, but she seems to know what she's doing. What isn't fine is the wait time you have to suffer through at this location. As others have mentioned they require an initial eye exam, a contact lens fitting, and at least one follow-up appointment before they'll actually let you order contacts. This requirement would be fine, if abnormal in my experience, if it weren't for the outrageous wait times I've encountered for all three of these appointments. Every time I've come I've arrived at least 10 minutes before my appointment and waited at least 45 minutes to an hour before being seen. This would be bad enough on its own, but they also manage patients like they're playing diner dash, so even once you see one doctor or assistant you'll be sent back out to the waiting room to wait for the next portion of your appointment while they see someone else. For my initial exam I probably spent an hour and a half waiting, and about 15 minutes actually being seen. I don't have time for this and when this epic saga has finally concluded and they've FINALLY let me purchase a set of contacts I can assure you I will be seeking out a new location for my optometry needs. read more

I've been going to Dr. Grand at Celebration Eye Care for almost as long as I've had vision insurance at work. This location feels like a "small town" eye doctor to me, and that's not just the Stepford-y feel of Celebration in general. I feel like the staff recognize me (even though I'm in just a few times a year, usually all in the same month) and I'm treated like a person, not a number. The downside of "small town" is the occasional, leisurely pace to timing. A 9:00 appointment can sometimes mean you see the staff come in at 9, and chat a bit with each other before starting to take appointments. I just plan to run at a slower pace when I have appointments, and it doesn't bother me that way. When I renew my contacts, it's generally a six-week process: Eye exam; return in about two weeks to pick up a pair of trial lenses (mine are never in stock); return again in about two weeks for a follow-up and to order a year's supply of said lenses; receive lenses about two weeks later. (I opt to pick them up since I work nearby, though they offer to ship to my home.) It's an annual ritual for me. They're remodeling, expanding their "showroom" to more than double by taking the store next door. It'll be good to see the expanded selection the next time I'm in. read more

I love that the staff remembers me. They are personable and friendly. My appt was for 9am, I was seen on time. New equipment made for an expedited process time. The personal touch of having the technician escort me to eyewear selection and offer great suggestions was a very nice touch. Her assistance was greatly appreciated. She has a great eye for the frame that fit my face perfectly. For someone as blind as i am, this assist is very valuable. Doctor Margaret was very friendly, and offered suggestions to my dry and itchy eye complaints in addition to offering "computer glasses" encouraging me to make the most of my insurance. read more

I walked in to the reception area which was completely empty of any guests. The two receptionists looked at me like I had 2 heads. Neither greeted me. I approached the desk and said hello and they said "Hello." Literally- zero attempt at customer service was made, no further inquiries made. I asked if there was room for a walk in appointment and the receptionist the furthest from me laughed and said "Not today." I waited for them to attempt to book an appointment with me but they both continued to stare at me like I was intruding on their private conversation and made me feel, generally, very unwelcome. I asked if there were any appointments I could book for later today or the next day and one of them said, "No- our next appointment isn't until like the 29th, right?," then she looked at the other receptionist who quickly agreed with her. I don't know what kind of sorry excuse for customer service training these two individuals have received, but I will be taking my business elsewhere, even if I have to wait MUCH longer than the 29th. The whole team here from the receptionist to the doctor are professional and friendly. And they have Saturday hours!! The vast selection of glasses are everything from the most stylish to the lesser expensive (but attractive). Celebration Eye is worth the drive across town for me - and that says a lot! read more

This office has the worst follow through and follow up. I received the run around about my glasses and my contacts when I initially got them back in March of this year. I called the office over two weeks about about my glasses being scratched and about getting my contact lens information. I still have not received a follow-up phone call even though I was assured I would receive a call the next day. I am done with this office and will tell everyone I know not to use them as their eye care provider. read more

I have allergies and was bothered by it that day but they told me they couldn't take anyone with respiratory illness. I scheduled an appointment last week for 11 a.m. and I am positive it was for this eye care provider as they were the first to pop up in proximity to me. When I arrived, they treated me like an idiot and said the appointment was never made and kept questioning me on whether it was the other eye doctor in town. After I was tired of hearing from them I finally did leave to the other eye doctor in town and actually setup an appointment with a very helpful staff. The staff at Celebration Eye Care could've said, "It appears there was a mistake setting the appointment, I'm sorry, is there any way we can setup another date?" Had that happened I would've been totally understanding and set another time. Instead, they were so rude, I said "Ok," and walked away. I would absolutely not recommend this eye clinic. read more

After using them for two pairs of glasses, two years in a row, I won't be using them again. The first visit wasn't too bad, but they said it was take two weeks for my glasses to come in. Then after 3 weeks I called to see if they had arrived. They didn't answer so I left a message. I didn't get a call back, so a couple days later I called them again, and still no answer. Another message left, another call left unreturned. They third time I called them they finally answered, and said I should have just come in and picked them up. I wasn't going to waste my time driving there if I didn't know they were in. So I figured it might have just been bad experience, and a year later I thought maybe they would have improved. Unfortunately it was basically the same story a year later, but slightly worse. Receptionist was inattentive when I came in, never even looked at me. I filled out the form and had an appointment, but it still took 20 minute to see someone. They said it would take 2 weeks for the glasses to come in. It was just a repeat of a year earlier. No call that my glasses had come in, and took several calls to finally talk to someone. They just don't return calls. Very frustrating. read more

I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new optometrist. I also wanted to try contacts for the first time. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. They walked me through the process beforehand and waited to make sure that I was comfortable with my new contacts before I went home. I definitely would recommend this place. read more

Margaret herself was on time to the appointment. I missed the appointment time however, but she set aside time after their lunch break to meet with me. Dr grand is very knowledgeable and caters to many of the Disney employees as well. She just got all new equipment that is state of the art. She is very well versed in eye diseases and optometry. I highly recommend her, and I would take her advice seriously! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Grand for over 10 years and enjoy her very much. Very engaging and happy to explain things to me. Takes her time and overall has a great "bedside manner". The retail portion of the office is horrible. They estimate 6-10 days for return on new orders and I've waited up to 30 days for them to call to say my order is in. Often calling in and asking about my order. They and the lab used have messed up my glasses multiple times over and never once offered any recovery. I've paid for tint in my lenses and have had to have them redone 3 times and still have dead cells upon pickup. I asked for them to just put regular lenses in without that tiny I paid for as they seemingly couldn't get it right. Also, they have left me waiting for 30 min or longer for scheduled pickups and never have the case for the frames I've chosen. I enjoy you as a doctor, but I can no longer visit your office as the retails team is such a horrible mess. read more

I would highly recommend that you go to a different eye care provider. The doctor, Ms Grande, is unprofessional, does not appear to be trustworthy, and quite frankly either had a bad day or is outright unqualified to fit contacts. I have been a contact wearer for 25 years and choose this optician only because my ophthalmologist was out of network with my new insurance carrier. I was having no problems seeing distance or up close and simply needed an updated prescription so that I could replenish my contact supply. Ms. Grande examined my eyes and wanted to change my prescription. I could not even read the signs in her waiting room with the first set of lenses that she prescribed. When I told her that I couldn't see she lectured me about contact lenses and vision, explained to me that she knew the ophthalmologist I had used for years and told me that "I know your previous doctor. He doesn't fit contacts and doesn't know how". She then reached in my eye with an unwashed finger to rotate the astigmatism lens. She changed the prescription again and I was still unable to see. Finally she decided to match the prescription of the lenses that I already had but she did not have them in stock. She wanted me to wait two weeks until she could get some in stock. I told her that I had unopened lenses in my truck but she refused to examine my eyes using them stating that "the lenses must come from my office". Three hours after my arrival I had to schedule an appointment for two weeks out. During that time I decided to return to my ophthalmologist. In less than 45 minutes in his office I had my eyes examined by a licensed medical doctor, received an updated prescription that allowed me to see clearly (and matched my old prescription), and ended up paying less without insurance coverage than I did at Celebration Eye Care with coverage. In short, my visit to Ms. Grande was a bad and expensive waste of time. read more

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Margaret Grand since we moved to Florida 9 years ago. Dr. Grand has always been very friendly and is extremely knowledgeable. She takes here time explaining your eye health in a very caring and professional manner. The office staff has always been polite and friendly. Sometimes the wait can be a little long but I would highly recommend Celebration Eye Care to anyone. read more

This is my first review that I felt the need to write. First of all my experience here was horrible. I made an appointment for April 15th because my glasses broke and I needed new ones. The optometrist I usually go to was all booked for the month so I decided to give celebration eye care a try. Upon arrival the front desk lady was extremely rude and told me that my appointment had been cancelled. I asked how was it cancelled if I was there and she seemed bothered and told me they could still see me as a walk in. I waited for about an hour and half and then I was taken back. The doctor was very nice and friendly and very helpful. After my examination I picked the glasses I wanted and payed $350 dollars. I was told that my glasses would be ready in 7-10 business days. That's 15 business days! After 2 weeks of waiting I called back and I was told that my glasses were still not there and that they would call me once my glasses arrived. I told the optical staff that I needed my glasses before May 8th because I was leaving for vacation. So today I called and guess what nothing yet so its literally been over 3 weeks and I still haven't received my glasses. And the thing that made me upset the most was that no one had the professional courtesy to call me and tell that my glasses had not arrived or explain why it's taking so long. The whole time I felt like was getting the run around and the excuses were always that it's all based on the prescription. I'm not blind, it shouldn't take almost a month for a pair of eyeglasses. Also good luck trying to get them to answer the phone. I feel sorry for the doctor because her staff is making her business look really bad. In conclusion I will give this place up to Monday or else demand a refund. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. It is awful! My first appointment (for an annual exam and ordering contacts) took over 2 hours. They didn't have the contacts they needed to fit me with so they had to order them, which took 3 weeks. When they finally came in I couldn't get an appointment to come back in because the doctor was going to be out Wednesday-Friday for 2 weeks (keep in mind they're only open 5 days a week to begin with). Finally, when I needed them to fill out an exam sheet so I could get my license renewed, they left blank spaces, so after waiting for my renewal for a month, the sheet got sent back to me to re-apply, because the doctor didn't fill it out properly! DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE unless you really enjoy wasting your time and money! read more
