Booking an appointment was easy and within a reasonable time frame. The reception area was clean and comfortable. We were greeted promptly by Molly (who later helped me with an eye appt for my 2 yr old grandson). The staff was friendly, and checked me in right away. *I do have to say I waited 1/2 hr after my appt. time (but they were apologetic and got me in quickly after I told them). The assistant who did the pre-exam was very good, and I felt well taken care of. Dr. Anais Patail came in and was friendly and professional. She was very thorough in her exam, and I felt like I mattered to her. She explained everything as she was doing it, and took her time. Was thoughtful in her explanation about my eyes and gave me instructions on how we would follow thru with the care. She walked me out to the front desk to be 'discharged' .... and once again Molly Henry was a pleasure to deal with. I will be going back to this practice, as will my children and grandchildren. We have been going to this clinic for many years and their level of service has greatly diminished. My husband's appointment was in January and they ordered a trial pair of contacts that he had to return to pick up. After trying them out for a while, he found that they weren't staying in focus so he called and asked for a different trial pair. He was told that someone would call him back....and no call ever came through. He called several times over the course of 5 weeks and each time he is told that someone would call him back. Since no call ever came, he decided to drive to the clinic today to inquire in person. Magically, they had his new trial pair of contacts and he asked how long they had been there since he was never informed. He was told that they had been there since January 29th and that supposedly someone called him but there was no answer. So, first thought was that there is voicemail and no voicemail was left. He checked his call log of incoming calls and there wasn't an incoming call from the clinic. The second thought is that why wouldn't they attempt to call again and why wouldn't they reach out via email? Because of this experience, we will consider changing Eye Doctors. This is a branch of a corporate chain of clinics. It is surprising that they have allowed their service to diminish as we have experienced. It shouldn't be such a hassle to get the proper prescription contact lenses. read more

Went for cataract surgery. Felt like i was being hustled by a 3rd world, lreet vender. Wanted me to pay up for things I could get at no additional charge from my insurance. I told them I want good distance vision. Said that cost an additional 600 dollars. PAID the extra 600 dollars and my distance vision was worse than before the surgery, but I could read without glasses. When I questioned way my distance vision was worse than before the surgery the doctor told me we don't make guarantees, and would I like to schedule to have my right done when they just tested it and it was 20-20 so I hope your experience with them goes better than mine did. I had a 2:45 appt. For a simple annual checkup. It took over 2 hours..... Totally unaceptable!!!! Gonna change eye clinics!! This office came recommended through DCP and our daughter went to be fitted for contacts and eyeglasses. She has had nothing but trouble trying to get both prescriptions correctly sent to her email. Every single time she has called them, she has had to leave a message and usually 3-4 messages are left before she receives a response. Poor communication on their parts and they even sent her the incorrect prescription. She is an Indiana transplant to Florida and it has been nothing but a headache to get the information she needs. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone moving to Florida, especially young adults that are just learning how to figure these things out on their own. Even now, she is still waiting on her glasses prescription to be sent to her. Her appointment was in March. It's absurd and if I could give them a zero, I would. GO ELSEWHERE! read more

I can't rate more than one star because I've yet to be seen. When I arrived for my appointment at 8:00 AM, being the first person in, I checked in. I sat and waited for 15 minutes until the receptionist called me over to inform me that "Dr. Smith isn't in today. We tried to call you. Is XXX-XXX-XXXX your number?" Yes, yes it is. I have no missed call, no message. "Well, if you really need to be seen today, we can see you at 11:30." If I didn't need to be seen, I wouldn't be here. But I also have a job, which I've alresdy rearranged so I could be here. I can't be back in three hours. The lack of concern shown by the reception staff was the main issue. Maybe hire some people who care and can show compassion when they screw up, because the person here today seems to be missing that skill. read more

Just moved to area and needed my yearly exam. I was seen within the week and waited in waiting room for about 5 minutes. Desk staff was sweet, Dr was professional and staff working in the eyewear dept were very kind as well. We are very pleased with our visit and will continue to use this eye specialist. read more

My family has seen Dr. Smith at the Clermont office and Dr. Dixon at Haines City, both are great and very much like them. The reason for my 2 star review is an urgent issue that came up after midnight today. I had picked up contacts for my son today and had ordered 4 boxes, 2 for each eye. The prescription is slightly different for each eye, but enough that your vision is compromised if you are wearing the wrong one. The boxes of the 180 power, one was labeled left and one was labeled right, same for the 170 power - so which ones are for the left eye and which ones are for the right? My son had tossed out his old boxes so had no idea. I called to have the after hours Doctor paged, since my son had to go to work and needs to be able to see. The Doctor on call, Dr. Attaway, called back pretty quickly and answered the question and said he wished I had called before midnight so wouldn't have needed to be waken up. Excuse me, well I wish whoever labeled the contacts incorrectly hadn't caused this problem, but we don't always get what we want. I wish I had known earlier as well, but isn't this what an on-call Doctor does? I'm sorry if he hates that part of his job, but obviously I would not have called if I didn't need help. I'm very disappointed and have no idea why someone who is in a profession to help people, would treat someone this way. Sorry to interrupt your sleep dude, wouldn't want you to be inconvenienced to do your job. Obviously if it could have waited until business hours, I would have, sorry if other people's work schedules don't match up with Dr. Attaway's sleep schedule . I would not recommend this place if you ever have an after hours emergency, especially if grumpy Dr. Attaway is on call - be prepared for him to let you know how you've inconvenienced him and then have him hang up you. read more

We just moved to Florida in May. Unfortunately my insurance did not permit another exam until June. I had an appointment with the Davenport office in July. I needed to get my conta prescription filled. They would not do it and I needed a "fitting" that they charged $50 for. I had been going to the same Opthalmologist office for over 25 years and never once was charged a fitting fee. I have been wearing contacts for 20 years. It was suggested I change contacts as they were out of date. I had been using the same contacts for about 10 years. So I changed and was provided a trial pair. I put them in and within an hour my left eye was bothering me. I checked and my left contact was blurry. It was about a week before I could get back to the office. I explained what was wrong. The staff checked with the optometrist and was told that a new trial lens would be ordered. I received the new lens and it was fine. I went in to order the contacts. I asked to make sure to check and make sure they ordered the correct left lens. I was told they had no record of a second lens for the left eye. A staff member went in back and talked to the driver. She came back and assured me they had the correct prescription. When I picked up the contacts I didn't bother to check to make sure they were correct. I got home and checked and they were wrong. I went back the next day to get the correct lens ordered. I was told the optometrist was not in I went back a couple days later. A staff member went back to talk to the optometrist and was told they were told that I had the correct prescription. I UuI went home knowing they were wrong and called doctors office back in Pennsylvania. I was told that the prescription that this office gave me was different than the one they have been giving me for the past 6 years read more
