I could not have asked for a more perfect day! My husband…read moreand I decided to get married quickly after being engaged. We only had 6 weeks from when we wanted it to be. We knew we wanted a beautiful place, intimate and where we could just show up. We researched top places for a small wedding and Rock city popped up in a top 20. After seeing the photos and being the only place with prices online, we called and they were able to meet us and show us the grounds the same day. First thing is first; not only does Vicki Green have a perfect name for her job but she also a perfect personality and love for what she does. Just walking around the garden with her and listening to her, we knew that she would be the perfect person to help us. Vicki helped us from start till literally the moment we got into our car, married. She helped with color ideas, made all the bouquets, boutonnières and corsages. She was there for the rehearsal and the day of. Helped with the music, escorting people to the bathroom and making sure people weren't walking into the bridal suite before I was ready. After the wedding she helped with making sure we had the best locations for photos. My day was stress free because of her. I honestly would not change a thing about that day. If you're on the fence, go and ask for Vicki! It was an hour away from our home, and I would have driven 2 hours.

Looking for family fun especially for the kids on the northern part of the Treasure Coast? Do you…read morealso want that family fun to technically be free as there is no admission fee? Well look no further than LaPorte Farms. Located in the Roseland area of the Treasure Coast which meets up with the southern most point of the Space Coast, LaPorte Farms (which I will shorthand to LaPorte) is an open farm consisting of a wide array of animals to see and activities to do. Designed in which everything can be seen or experience in one or two hours tops sans any major events, LaPorte is both entertaining and educational, especially for children. Starting with the animals, there are plenty of pens and large birdcage enclosures featuring many kinds of animals of both domestic farm life and... well... more "exotic" farm life. They have horses, chickens, and pigs, but also have llamas, turtles, bearded lizard, and lemurs. To add to the fun, they have named some of their animals as seen on their "Critters" Tab on their official website. Next, the activities are catered towards children and overall family experience. On site, there is a little library where you can "leave a book, take a book." This is definitely an excellent way to prepare for the Reading Challenge LaPorte hosts. Plenty of photo opportunities to be made which includes photography props including a face-cutout picture board and a "jailhouse." There is a section for little kids to ride spring rocking horses, which is a toy I haven't seen in ages. Finally off the top of my head, there are also pony rides and train rides for $5.00 per kid to partake in. Outside of the basic on site activities, LaPorte hosts many events including fishing tournaments and summer camps. They are often active in their community via their non-profit, Friends of LaPorte Farms. As a matter of fact, as of the publication of this review, LaPorte recently won the business of the month given to them by the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce. Finally, the main house, sells food, drink, and gifts. Guests can buy packets of food to feed the critters on the farm (no outside food please), packages of eggs laid from their hens, and even honey and soap from other local businesses LaPorte are friends with. The two unique "events" the main house has is the Reading Challenge in which families can sign up their kids to partake in, and the "Pray for the Troops" box filled with toy soldiers. Overall, LaPorte is a very fun place to visit with the family. I expect such a place would be interesting to see during certain holidays such as 4th of July and Christmas. Gives reason to return for guests. For now, giving LaPorte four out of five stars. Everything is excellent, but the fifth star shall be earned if LaPorte is consistent. P.S. - LaPorte Farms is one of the locations to visit in the Treasure Coast Kids Quest for Indian River County. Families can go to the official website and/or obtain a passport from the main house at LaPorte or the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce. At each location, passholders have to complete a task or mission. At LaPorte, you need to take a picture with Baby Girl the zebra.

We will definitely be back!…read more Admission is free, donations are appreciated. This adorable Farm has so many animals. Horses, birds, lemurs, turtles, goats, chickens, turkeys, and more! There are signs to show how much things are. They also have food to feed the animals available for purchase. There is a $2 fee for credit cards. If you bring cash you can avoid that. The staff was nice. My daughter went on the horse ride. It was $5

1-Star Review - Very Disappointing Experience…read more Lake Pavilion in West Palm Beach is a beautiful venue, but unfortunately, our experience with Christopher T. Burdick, Community Events Specialist, was extremely disappointing and stressful. Christopher was very disorganized and created a great deal of stress for us at the last minute. There was significant confusion and poor communication regarding documents that had already been submitted electronically to Tracy. We were repeatedly asked for paperwork that had already been provided, which made the entire process unnecessarily complicated. The parking situation on the day of the event was especially frustrating. If the venue is going to be so strict about paperwork and procedures, they should also have a clear and organized system for vendor parking. Parking spaces were not numbered, making it extremely difficult for nearly 20 vendors to know where they were supposed to park. The parking permits that were supposed to identify authorized vehicles were not properly provided or explained to us in advance. Instead, they were handed out on the day of the event without clear numbering or instructions, creating unnecessary chaos and stress. Even more disappointing, our contract stated that vendor setup would begin at 1:00 PM, yet the doors were not opened until approximately 2:00 PM. Nearly 20 vendors were left outside in the rain with all of their equipment and supplies for about an hour, unable to enter and begin setting up. This caused significant delays and affected our event schedule. It is very disappointing that such a beautiful venue can have such poor organization and communication. Instead of making the experience easier for their clients, the process felt unnecessarily stressful because of excessive paperwork requirements, lack of communication, and a lack of practical assistance when problems occurred. The venue itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the organization and customer service we experienced were not acceptable. I sincerely hope management reviews these procedures and improves communication, vendor access, parking organization, and staff coordination for future events.
