I live in the Washington, D.C. area and knew I wanted to knock out some dress purchasing while back home in the St. Cloud area during the winter holidays. We tried Celebrations first, but the selection there was quite paltry. Carrie Johnson had many more dresses and my consultant was great -- not pushy and just the right amount of attentive and energetically helpful. She was able to pull several dresses in my budget that fit what I was looking for. Would recommend trying for a weekday. Our recent experience with Jackie Js on tuxes was very disappointing. The Groom picked up 11 tuxes…read moreon Tuesday and half of them needed something corrected. He tried his on while at the store with his jacket being too big. He was not re-measured just a smaller sized ordered. On Thursday a family member drove to pickup the jacket. He tried it on that evening still too big. They ordered a third jacket. It was asked if it could be shipped or dropped off at their house. Jackie Js couldn't guarantee that. So, on Friday he took 4 hours out of the day to pickup the jacket again. He missed out on the venue set-up. The bestman missed a full day of work on Wednesday to get the correct size shirt and jacket. The father of the brides first pair of pants where like capri pants. We had another groomsmen with jacket size issues too. The two with wrong shoe sizes were the least of our worries. When the tuxes were returned on Monday we shared our experience with staff only to be told thanks for the feedback. Save yourself a lot of time, mileage and stress go elsewhere for tuxes!

They're very affordable, and for their wedding package, you get to purchase a jacket, pants, shirt, tie and pocket square plus hemming of the pants for less than it costs to rent a tux at other places. They also had the light gray colored suits we were looking for. Tons of different tie options, with a lots of colors and designs, and everything looks pretty sharp. There were two main issues I have with the service, though. First, I absolutely understand shipping issues. Our suit order was placed in July/early August with a November return time. Ok, cool. Gives us wiggle room for our early February wedding. Well, first week of December rolls around and still nothing. We call them, speak to Anthony, and note that they never called us, and he told us "your one guy that ordered a vest, the vest is on back order so they won't ship the lot of everything until that comes in." Ok, we can still deal. A few weeks later, everything is there. When we go to pick up my fiancé's suit, the sales rep, Alex, tells us oh, actually they only sent us half your order and we had to send it back because if it comes from a different dye lot, they won't match. (Oh awesome, so now we've been lied to by one of these two guys...) My fiancé's suit fits, as do two of his groomsmen, and my father's suit. The other issue comes from the other groomsmen's suit. The size pants he supposedly asked to be ordered were way too big. They told us he lost a ton of weight between order and now. This guy is a super skinny, not possible, but Alex told me he disagreed when I called to enquire about the issue. (insert eyeroll) So they're gonna take his pants in. Great, now we're in the middle of Jan at this point. He goes to pick up the pants after the alteration, and now they're too small. (thanks Max for not knowing how to measure properly.) They offer to ship them to the groomsman since he lives an hour away, but they can't guarantee after the ADDITIONAL alteration of letting them back out some, that it'd arrive before the wedding. So our poor friend has to make yet another hour long drive just to get pants that are now redone for the third time the weekend before our wedding. They fit, but what a mass amount of back and forthing that was absolutely unnecessary.

I love how everything is color coded and wish more stores would organize like this. Every employee I encountered was very friendly and helpful. I did notice that they were diligently interactive with me after I picked up a $100 blouse- as they should be on a busy Saturday! But I really appreciated the small talk and direction from Randie, who gave me the brief on where to find everything, and the brief on the sister store Nextdoor. This store is a bit out of my way, but now knowing what they carry I definitely see myself returning here when I am feeling like I want to treat myself. As I am someone who prides in ensuring clothes don't go to landfill and trying to reuse or recycle as much as I can (I shop thrift a lot) I was very pleased to see that they take overflow items from designers. My only bummers were when I got home, the nice gentleman at the register unfortunately left one of the security tags on a sweater, leaving me to figure out how to break it off. It happens, but gosh dang! And then the same sweater had a bit of a small but obvious stain on it. And while I know it's already deeply discounted, it wasn't in the clearance section. So when I asked if they might consider anything additional on the top, he kindly explained how the store handles stuff like this and that basically there is a waiting period of it doesn't sell. Odd, but I'm sure it helps them profit, so I understand. Overall, I'll be back! What a great local spot!
