The very first dress we looked at, my daughter fell in love with and we purchased. The owners, Dee & Kris, are a mother/daughter team who have had this business for over 30 years and just love it. I needed to go wedding dress shopping and was so stressed out before I found myself here. My mother and I had a lovely experience and within minutes found a dress and matching veil that fit my body almost perfectly (I'm pregnant and wide-set). The ladies there helped us pick out accessories; they were very attentive to our needs and helped us along the whole process, including recommending a great tailor to apply the finishing touches. We walked in and were immediately greeted and asked if we needed help finding something. I told Dee I was looking for a green formal. I went into the bridal room that was super busy, as it was a Saturday and found one green dress. I came out of that room and there were 3 others waiting for me to try on. Ultimately, none of them fit, but my husband spotted another dress hanging by the fitting rooms. We both loved it and it fit perfectly. Even though it wasn't green, it was gorgeous and the price was great for the type of dress it was. I will for sure go there again when/if I need a formal dress. read more

The one time I visited Classy Consignments was a complete disaster. I came with two of my best friends to shop for prom dresses and was completely shocked by how rude the staff were! They kept up waiting for far too long before showing us their selection of dresses. First of all, every dress they had was outdated and frankly ugly. It was like a scene from Napoleon Dynamite. Secondly, my friend wanted to try on a dress that was slightly expensive, and the woman helping us was extremely rude. She said, on multiple occasions with different wording, "You seemed a bit too big for that one, and it's expensive so you probably just shouldn't." Can you imagine a salesperson speaking to a customer like that? It was horrible and rude of her to say something like that, especially because it was her job to sell us dresses and her comment instantly had us leaving the store. And finally, the atmosphere of the store was awful. The dressing rooms we were put in were disgusting and trashed, with open air vents and dirty floors. The store itself was so cluttered that it was impossible to navigate without tripping over some dress on the floor or another. Never again will I or any of my friends come here. read more

Went here in search of a non-traditional wedding dress. (The staff was very confused about this concept). They have an insane amount of traditional wedding dresses and a great amount of formals and prom. They're set up a little strange in an old house but you could really find something decent here if you're lucky. I certainly wish I knew about places like these when I was in High School. read more

Wow. Dresses galore. If you need a fancy party dress or a wedding dress this the place to go. Hundreds of both. The regular clothing area is a little too packed for my tastes although they do have markers on the hangers for the sizes which is nice. The whole store is in an old house which I always think is cool. I will definately give this store another visit. read more

This was my first wedding dress shopping stop in the Twin Cities (I'd been to one other place in Milwaukee). I've driven by it many times before as it's very close to my grandma's, but never been inside before. I had a relatively low (as in less than 1k) budget, so I figured consignment was probably a better bet than a traditional shop. I spotted a dress from the window display that I loved immediately. The ladies there helped me find a few dresses and I liked that my mom and I were able to pick some out ourselves as well. They weren't pushy and didn't force things that didn't work. Their selection is surprisingly decent and if you're after vintage, ask for their attic dresses. I finally asked about the dress in the window and luckily it was in my size. It was gorgeous, everything I wanted (lacey, not poofy, not strapless) and less than half the price of what it would've retailed for, plus it fit great! Much as I loved the window dress, I didn't feel I could say yes to it right away as it was my first stop. The rest of the day I had a less than stellar experience as The Wedding Shoppe and a pretty decent experience at Bride to Be Consignment, but nothing stood out quite as much as the window dress. I couldn't get that dress out of my mind so a week later I called them to see if they still had it. They did but someone else had asked to put it on hold. Since they couldn't hold it (being a consignment shop) they said if I came it it was mine if I wanted it. I returned by myself, tried it on again and bought it. I love this store! The consultants were wonderful to work with, try helped me select my bridal gown (I had about 7 to try on). No pressure from them at all! They even have a layaway program! They have a huge inventory of bridal and also every day clothes, I do wish that they could expand because of the huge selection of inventory it makes it difficult to walk around without feeling like your going to knock something down. Went looking for my wedding dress. The two women working were the absolute nicest and down to earth people I've dealt with. My sister was with me and has two children who tagged along and as we were trying on dresses the ladies sat with the kids and held the youngest so my sister could help me. They sat with us and gave their input and made the experience so smooth and easy. Made me feel so comfortable and helped choose accessories too. The best experience I could've asked for and we found the best dress at such a great price! They even stayed past close with us to make sure everything was perfect! read more

The owner is the worst. I was a Groomsman for a wedding and nothing they sent was correct. The Father of the Groom's tux didn't fit either. It wasn't like a simple one size off deal either, my jacket was 2 sizes (4 inches) too big and everything was assuming that you are plus sizes. When I called to get it fixed, the owner bitched at me about how it wasn't her fault and that she thought it was safer to go bigger on the sizes instead of risking it being too small. This was after I clarified what size jacket I wear since it fits better on me being a little snug. I had to call several times over a week to take care of the situation. She claims to have tried to call me back but she was clearly lying since I checked my recent calls and her number was not there except when I called her. They order the tux's through another company and have nothing on location so there are much easier places to work with. The whole experience was an amateur hour with an old lady that has no clue. Her policy is that she is always right and the customer can take a hike. read more

We went to this store looking for a prom dress and while I was picking one out the lady there told me I shouldn't try to squeeze into a dress. I was picking my size but when I told her that she asked me if I could afford it. I ignored the comment she made but after I ya e her the dress back she accused me of breaking the zipper. Just letting you all know it wasn't broken and I didn't do anything to it. This was probably the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. read more

Lousiest run business EVER. Spent an hour picking out a dress only to find out the store clerk didn't know how to run the cash register! Two other women had left her in charge while they went shopping at the Dollar Tree. "You don't mind waiting a few minutes, do you?" Well yes, as a matter of fact I do mind. The clerk knew a full 1/2 hour before that I was planning to buy the dress - b/c I also found one shoe and she looked for over 1/2 hour trying to find its mate. Finally after another 15 minutes-ran into the owner who said "we were only gone a few minutes"! WTF - I'd been there over an hour. Nothing classy about this place. read more

The staff at this store are very rude and body shamed my daughter. The woman working kept saying rude remarks to my daughter while she was looking at dresses making her feel bad about her body and that they wouldn't fit. Aren't we past that?!? People come in all shapes and sizes. read more

Purchased a prom dress here for $330. The lady that was helping me was the one to button and in button my two piece prom dress. I decided I wanted to buy it and the lady "helping" me unbuttoned my top piece and bagged it. I brought it home and the next day went to go try it on and the neck part that comes together had two clips and one button and all three of them were gone. I call the store to see what they can do, since it was their employee who unbuttoned me and must have been the one to see them fall off. After talking to two different people they forward me to the store owner who was there when we bought the dress, and she stated that the dress never had buttons at all when in fact, they had buttoned the dress up for me while I was there in the store trying it on. Terrible management, employees don't take responsibilities for their actions and they only care about taking your money, not seeing that your satisfied with your purchase. They had the audacity to lie to me and not fix a simple mistake they made after paying over $300. Would not buy from here ever again. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. From the very beginning the staff here were very rude. I brought my wedding dress here for consignment. They were very excited for the dress and said it would sell right away. One year later, I call back and they say it hasn't sold and they want to lower the dress. Fine. Another year goes by and they still haven't sold the dress but they really think it will sell so they asked me if they could keep it another year. I said ok. 9 months later I call to check on the status and they say they never renewed my contract and that they don't have the dress anymore! What?!!!! THEY GOT RID OF MY DRESS WITHOUT EVEN INFORMING ME FIRST! Further, every time I called the staff was not pleasant to work with, they always made it seem like I was bothering them by calling. They told me they were too busy to help me and asked me to call back later rather than taking a message and calling ME back. Now the only choice I have is to take legal action for their loss of a very expensive dress. read more

I recently visited Classy consignments with 2 friends to look at wedding dresses! Was so excited at the amount of dresses they actually had! We were finding ones left & right! As time went on, one lady kept making us move so she could put a dress away right where we were standing or looking at dresses. Like we had to move out of her way. I just didnt see that very welcoming! Later when we were trying on dresses in the tiny fitting room, we were blamed for knocking a rack of dresses over for putting too many on it! and another lady just took a dress off of it!! It was just rude, for her to come over, not knowing what happened & blame us! We found a dress & was debating purchasing it & the lady was talking with us & saying it was our decision & walked away when the other employee came back from getting pop & rolled her eyes like we needed to hurry up! Buying a wedding dress is a big decision & I dont see why we were treated so rudely! Will NEVER come back or recommend!!! read more
