The facade kind of beckoned me in, probably because my friend had begged me not to let her go in there when we were planning to meet for coffee nearby. She can't leave there without a bag of stuff, apparently. I laughed. I was laughing less at her having experienced the place. Agne asked me if I needed help, and I wondered if she could show me how to do a cat eye. She said that appointments had to be booked, and I think they were actually closing anyway. I said it didn't matter and admitted that I was only passing time anyway. For some reason, she decided to make an exception and do a quick job on my eyes. It may have been my bedraggled and exhausted countenance, but I'm not complaining! Not only did she do my eyes, she did my whole face. I can't believe how quickly she transformed me, and she taught me some new tricks - like blending liner upwards to create a smoky eye. I kept staring at my reflection wondering how she'd created the impression of sleep and the reversal of a few years. I wanted to bring her home with me! There was no pushiness. I was asked if I'd like to purchase anything and chose the miraculous concealer. I kind of want everything she used, but will try to hold out and get them bit by bit. I am probably going to have to ask people to keep me out of there now too. Amazing what seeing yourself look not crap can do. Take all my money, Agne and Bobbi Brown!

Come here for a free and fabulous make-up lesson!…read more I booked the day before online and opted for the 45 minute 'party' makeup lesson. To be honest I was having quite a busy week and was sitting on the fence as to whether or not to cancel. But at the last minute I decided to treat myself-and I definitely didn't regret it! When I arrived Mario my make-up artist ushered me over to the make-up bench where I was offered some water and we discussed the look I wanted. He was really informative, talking me through each of the products that he used. What's more, he wrote all of the products and colours down on a sheet for me to take home. He actually spent an hour in total doing my makeup, and it looked absolutely amazing! Smokey eyes, flawless skin and subtle nudey lips, which were perfect for my Friday night out. The customer service was fantastic. He was friendly and obviously very talented at what he does. What's more, I was under no obligation to buy any of the products. I recommend this to anyone who is into their makeup and fancies trying out a new look!

I really dont want to share this secret but as Halloween is almost over I think it's now safe. this…read moreshop is huge and great for costume accessories. The ladies who work here really know their stuff and are fully trained make up specialist, so if its a false nose or false lashes, they will almost always sort you out. What's so great about it is the size, there is room to browse even when you are in there with 30 other Halloween wannabes, and they hold more stoke of white face paint and fake blood than anyone else I know. You can also get bargains here if you ask. When you are at the counter, see what alternatives they have for the products you've chosen and they'll give you cheaper options if available. They also have sales on great branded professional make up. It's like play time for adults in here. So now you know for next year and you'll see me rushing past the other idiots who are desperately looking for fake blood on the 31st October in central London.

If you need it they may well stock it - fake lashes, fake blood, fake beards, fake ears, fake noses and fake teeth. Excluding the prosphectic body parts, I'm quite sure (but yet to test) that some of the theatrical makeup they stock could double up and be quite wearable day-to-day. I'm very excited to find they stock glittery gold make up - solid gold when applied thick, and shimmery when rubbed in. Will definitely come back to purchase it for a Ziggy Stardust karaoke night (if I ever organise one) and then will wear it as an eye shadow. I particularly like the brushes, and make up brush holders here. They also stock a huge range of makeup from Illamasqua - normal consumer make up with a theatrical flair - I have seen it described as the 'new MAC'.

If I can give this merchant a zero star or a negative I would. First of all do not go there and I…read morestrongly believe that those who are writing such positive reviews are one person and one person only. First I bought a wowcher online for a six session of laser. I was trying to schedule my first session but was told I have to do a patch test, which was fine by me, except that it took almost a month to schedule a patch test and another month to schedule my first appointment. That should have been my first clue that I should stop but unfortunately I continued given the positive reviews (sure to be fake). The night before my first session, they canceled my appointment through a text message. I was waiting for this appointment for over a month. I sent an email and called and complained and finally the second day I was given another appointment because someone cancelled. Otherwise it was likely that I was going to have to wait another two months. When I got to the salon, the therapist kept me waiting for half an hour because she was overwhelmed and was the only one working. While she was doing my treatmenet, she did not wear any safety glasses, a sure sign that she is not a trained therapist and I should have bolted but I grinned my teeth and suffered it. While she was doing the session, she left the room FIVE times, one time she left for more than 15 minutes to deal with complaining customers. She missed so many areas and even though i mentioned it to her insisted that she knew what she was doing and that she did cover them. when we were done, she told me i will not be able to schedule your second session until after TWO MONTHS. I was upset and made that clear and decided never to return. I complained to wowcher to get my refund, but unfortunately they did not refund my money because the merchant (beauty by joanna) refused my claim, insisting that they are trained and the only reason i am upset is because i did not get my preferred dates. Are they kidding? Not only are they not trained but they have no respect for thier customers. The day i was there, it was heavily snowing. A woman came in for her schedule session only to be told that the therapist who will be performing her session is not available because she is sick. They did not inform her in advance and she had traveled for over an hour in the snow. So at the end of the day, they are not professional and if I were you, i would avoid them like the plague.
