BEWARE OF GENERIC PARTS!!!!…read more Had my iPhone 11 battery and display screen replaced a few weeks ago. I have used their service before on an iPhone 6 repair a few years earlier. This shop has quite an informative website, which I told the operator I had gone through, and complimented their addition customer support option. As I purchased the middle quality of the 3 display screens offered, I DID inquire about how drastic the differences in quality actually were. I was given a brief "good, better, best" response (NOT verbatim). When I paid for the service in advance I was asked to sign a receipt to acknowledge that my phone may or may not work the same after the repair. Again, a brief reply regarding possible damage that may not be known until the phone was apart. As broken screens are common, I wasn't too worried. When the repaired phone was returned, it displayed a message that my Face ID was disabled due to problems with the 'true depth camera'. My Face ID had worked up until the repair, even with really cracked glass. Seeing my dismay, the owner informed me that using parts that were not genuine Apple parts could disable the use of your face ID permanently, and that this was the case with my phone! He also said that Apple would not service the phone, I. E. Replace the glass again, because it had been serviced by a non-authorized apple repair. So, are they reputable service? I would say they are quite capable, polite and expedient. However, I am quite chagrined that they didn't disclose the fact that not using Apple parts could disable someone's face ID. I feel this is very serious.. I understand how providing this information could effect their earnings, as phones with facial identification are becoming the norm , and understandably, many customers would opt to find a service provider with the "genuine" option. If this is their reasoning, then I suggest someone upgrade their training to 'Apple certification standards' and have the ability to offer and install genuine parts, as necessary to ensure optimum performance of a costly device... I would have a LOT more respect for this establishment had they posted this option on their website, or told me up front that this was a hazard of using generic {display} parts... Odd that I am the only person who had this happen ~ no other reviews with this outcome... Dlm

Fantastic service and reasonable price…read more I brought in my brother's iPhone while he was in hospital, and it was thoroughly screwed up. The down volume button was not working, which is also required with the power button to turn off. The lightning port was not working, so you could not charge or sync by cable. The ringer toggle switch was frozen in the off position so you could not hear if someone called or texted you. Basically it had experienced severe liquid damage from exceptionally sweet sugary liquid, and all that sugar had turned rock solid. The gentleman at VanCell diagnosed the issue on the spot. He suggested that the best fix was to replace the housing and charging port, which would be about 3 hours labour plus parts. By housing I mean the entire external part of the phone aside from the front glass, containing all the volume, power and ringer buttons. He literally had to open the phone, remove ALL the internal parts, re-install them in a new housing and then re-seal the entire device. That sounded pricey but the phone is relatively new and quite expensive. I was pleasantly surprised when he quoted me a net price of $190 pre-tax. It was closing time but he said he could do it the next day and have it done by afternoon. I picked it up at 4pm the following day and it literally looked and worked like a brand new phone. He had also thrown in a new screen protector to replace the cracked one I brought it in with. I had forgotten to bring the charging cord and block with me to bring to my brother, so I added them as well. The final bill for the parts and labour, screen protector, cord, charging block and tax was $240. That seemed extremely reasonable to me, as I'm an industrial electrician and would be billed out at WAY more than that for 3 hours labour plus materials. I live in New Westminster myself, but if I ever need work on my own phone I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Everyone needs to know a few good, key trades people in life...a good plumber, electrician and mechanic, and in today's world of $1 to 2k flagship phones, a good smart phone technician. VanCell is that guy.

I took my PC to their Vancouver location on a Friday and met Roelof one of their techs. He was kind and very helpful. Less than 24hrs later, I got a call that it was repaired and for a very reasonable price. When I came to pick it up, Roelof demonstrated what he had done and explained how to further care for my computer. He also opened up the case and answered several questions and concerns I had about hardware. I thought my PC was toast, but Roelof saved it no problem. Not only did he fix various Windows corruptions, complete all Windows updates and get rid of my awful conflicting security software, he did it all without having to wipe my data. On top of that, he uninstalled useless programs and cleaned it of all viruses/malware. He also loaded new anti-virus and anti-malware programs to protect my PC in the future. Finally, Roelof even went as far as to update any program on my computer that was out of date and test my favourite game for me to make sure it was still working. Currently, my computer runs faster and works better than it did fresh out of the box. The tech even reached out a few days later to check up on how well it was running and to answer any further questions I had. I recommend TSG Computer Services and Roelof very highly. The service at the Metrotown store was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the battery started losing its ability to hold a charge after one month, and by two months the battery was bulging and not turning the phone on. I contacted Case Mogul by text, and they told me to contact the actual store. I ended up getting the battery replaced by another company, that was more conveniently located to me.
