Went there to get my pc fixed because it was not turning on. It was a power supply issue. Was charged $170 and told that it was a BIOS problem that was caused by removing it from the outlet in an incorrect way (which not I, neither my father that works with this had ever heard of). After paying I was asked if I use my GPU, to which I thought it was weird and said yes. Because it's a brand new one that I installed and had no issues with for a year now. Got home and to my surprise the GPU was not working. Went back to ask for a refund because they just switched the problem and did not fix anything to be told that they don't do refunds because it was a service over $300 worth. When confronted that the GPU was not working and the tech asked me if I used it, the front-end staff said that it was a normal question to ask. THEY DON'T HONOR THEIR QUOTES!!! I emailed this company to get a price to replace the battery in my phone. I received a quote of $65. I went to the store to get it done and the lady took my phone, took off the screen protector to check the screen and then brings a $99 battery to the counter and says it's $99. I said oh I got an emailed quote that says $65. She said no way, then called several people and spoke in her native language, came back and said that the "marketing department" was the one that emailed me and they just quoted the battery cost, and the installation is an extra $35. I called her out on that of course. The email clearly states "Iphone 14 pro max battery replacement is $65". I tried to explain to her that since I was quoted in writing a cost $65 they should honor that price. She then tried to say another store must have sent that quote. Seriously, first it's the marketing department and then it's another store?? There is only 1 email address on their website. Anyway, she refused to honor the quote (bad business practice IMO) but since I had already driven there and spent 15 minutes trying to explain myself (to no avail) I agreed to have the replacement done for $80 (which she tried to say $85 after telling me the lowest she could go was $80). The guy that did the replacement did a great job but I would NOT recommend them due to their dishonest business practices. I only wish I had read the bad reviews before choosing them. very bad technician and owner. destroyed my existing cell phone completely (and probably stole from it). bullied me into buying a new phone (expensive), rather than repairing my own phone. BEWARE!! Please please please think first before you go here to get your laptop fixed! It turned out to be an absolute nightmare an extremely stressful situation when I took my laptop to the shop to get the battery replaced. I had a Microsoft Surface laptop too and unfortunately the keyboard needs to be removed in order to get to the battery. The guy at the shop told me that he will be using heat to remove the keyboard to get to the battery, and he said that he has done this before. As you can see from the picture he clearly used heat and burnt four of my keys, what is even more interesting is when I took this laptop to other people to show them if they can fix my keyboard now that he is burnt my keys they were very shocked to find out that he used this much heat to remove my keyboard to get to the battery. You do need to use a little bit of heat in order to separate the keyboard from the unit however clearly you can see excessive heat was used. Needless to say I then discussed with the shop to replace my keyboard which I would pay for which seems a little bit strange considering they're the ones that burnt my keyboard, the owner was trying to sell me a dirty used surface keyboard for $150.00 or a brand new keyboard for $450. Well I'm not that stupid I did do my homework and research and I am able to get a brand new surface laptop keyboard on Amazon for less than $200. The workmanship to put my burnt keyboard back on my laptop was HORRIFIC! PICTURES DONT LIE!!! I took my laptop away with the burnt keyboard very unhappy. We were able to purchase a keyboard from eBay for less than $170. I took the keyboard and my laptop with the burnt keys to fixMac, the guy named Jack was absolutely awesome and professional. As you can clearly see he replaced my keyboard with the new keyboard that was purchased from E-Bay for $80 and it was professionally fitted. The issue that I have with Gurus is as follows: 1. if you are not qualified to do this type of work then I would rather you say so upfront and speak up rather than saying you can do it and you have done it before and everything was fine clearly it shows lack of experience 2. And then when I call you on it and say that you've used excessive heat when clearly you can YouTube it an the process was successful many other professionals said that this is never happened to them before when they have removed the keyboard you continue to be argumentative and say that your process was correct and you've done nothing wrong 3. and then you proceed to try and get more money out of me and overcharge me for a dirty used keyboard or a new keyboard Even Jack at Fixmac was extremely shocked and surprised to see my laptop and hear my experience. Worse experience I have ever had with a business. Brought gamepad/controller in to repair ONE joystick. Said they ordered the part directly from the manufacturer. Controller never worked, and they would have known that if they had run a simple calibration on a pc, but they made me take it home and test it myself. They clearly had no idea how to repair gamepads properly. Brought it in to Crackerz who repaired and calibrated it the same day. Works perfectly now. Told me the joystick had never been replaced. Went back to Gurus and asked for a receipt for the joystick part they ordered from the manufacturer. They then admitted they ordered a used controller from ebay but claimed they used one joystick from the used controlled to fix my original controller. This is a lie. They just switched them. The s/n number isn't even the same as my original controller. After confronting them, the manager yelled at me, called me a liar, and implied other unsavory things about me. After telling them I would go to BBB, the owner agreed to give me back my original controller. When I went back to pick it up, the manager made me wait while the workers gutted the insides. What got back was just a shell. It's clear they're incapable of accountability, and become unhinged when customers try to get what they are owed. read more

Would not recommend them. Replaced Iphone screen with 60 day warranty. The phone was still non-functional. At their recommendation, went to their sister store in Guildford and they couldn't resolve the touchscreen problem. $200 later, they wouldn't honour their repair warranty and wouldn't even offer a partial refund (with return of parts) to cover their labour costs. read more

Had a new battery installed on Dec. 11,2017. This week it cannot hold a charge overnight. It is so flat that the phone cannot turn on unless plugged in. I charge it every three days, about 60 cycles, new batteries should get 600 cycles. They said I was not charging it "properly". They only have a 3 month warranty. If I could give this business zero stars, I would. I have never left a review of a business before, but I have also never had an experience like this. I took my completely functional laptop (the screen was cracked but everything worked perfectly) to UbreakiFix to have the screen fixed and they suncontracted out to Gurrus cell phone repair in Guildford, Surrey. Gurrus replaced the screen and then I went there to pick it up, only to discover that my computer was suddenly saying that it had no operating system. I burst into tears in the store. They implied that, since the screen has nothing to do with the hard drive, I must be lying and the computer had never worked. When I called uBreakiFix, to my surprise and horror , they backed their subcontractor. Gurrus finally halfway fixed it (still not admitting any fault), but then acted as if they had done me a huge favor, instead of just doing their job. I got my computer back well over a week after I was supposed to and I'm going to have to pay someone else to fix the operating system, which is barely functioning and keeps glitching, and I was not offered a discount of any kind by either uBreakiFix or Gurru unless I paid Gurrus in cash under the table.
