In a stale industry that can make you feel like your chasing your own tail, all to keep you from actually understating the devices of which you cherish or check the monthly bill to discover bogus monthly activation jelly bean fees... cellular gallery represents everything that is good about an independent small business. I have my doctorate in psychology. I'm no tech expert but I grew up with the iPhone (got the first generation at the age of 22. Recently, after months of frustration with Verizon wireless - hours of waiting on the phone - hidden charges - old lines deactivated but still being charged monthly. I had enough. I was switching to T-Mobile which was offering a lower monthly bill, better customer service, and the ability to set up a checking account at 4% APY if your a customer - which was very attractive since BofA was defrauding me relentlessly. So I called T-Mobile and my new iPhone came after I made the switch. I went to cellular gallery after having some trouble understanding how to change the data and iCloud information to the new phone. My friends, my neighbors, people of Santa Monica. This was the best choice I have sever made. I seriously have no idea where I would be without Mike's guidance. The main reason I was there was to repair a crack on my phone. T-mobile was offering to but the phone back for $900, which was 200 more than Verizon, and they wouldn't have any new iPhones ready till late December. Mike fixed the crack, and gave me a decent deal - although I didn't realize the extra charge was for what ultimately became a guided tour towards not getting screwed. At no charge, mike offered to transfer the data to my new phone. He instructed me to download all the apps after the transfer, and then bring the phone back to send it to T-Mobile (although you have to be vigilant about getting that return address). At this point I decided mike was a trustworthy fella so I brought my old iPad in that had several cracks. He fixed it for less than $100. When I brought it home the top had not adhered properly so I brought it back and mike fixed it and was very apologetic. Mike is now sending my old phone back to T-Mobile and guiding me on what to do so I don't get screwed (otherwise I could get a bill for a $900 phone that was supposed to be working). This ladies and gentlemen is why we must support small business. If I had gone to T-mobile they would have been dismissive and inattentive. They don't care if I leave with bad direction. Mike however had a stake in you/us our neighbors being satisfied with his service. Mike showed resilience, patience, dignity, integrity and honesty. Never again will I engage in a cellular issue without first consulting mike. He'll give you a fair deal, he explain things to you to avoid pitfalls in the future, and he'll leave you with a reassuring smile - and this is the kind of humanity that we need right now. Easy and quick! My boyfriend dropped his Galaxy off here and left my phone number for them to call when it was ready for pick-up. He was quoted $75-$100. I received a call the next day that the phone was fixed and ready for pick-up. Before I went to go pick it up, I called ahead to see how much the final cost was and was told that it would be $99 plus tax. Okay. When I showed up, I ended up paying $93 total. While I do wish the rates were a little more transparent, I found everything else great! The older gentleman (presumably the owner?) was friendly and explained how they fixed the phone. DO NOT SHOP HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Let me start by saying I do not take negative reviews lightly. I highly encourage you to look at my other reviews, as this is the only time I have ever left a one star review. I just had the single worst customer service experience of my life at Cellular Gallery located at 1608 Santa Monica Boulevard. On Monday the 13th, three days ago, I brought in an iPhone 6 with a cracked screen. They provided me with the quote of $139.99 to fix it. I thanked them and decided to do some price comparisons, but as I walked out the clerk said "Make sure they use real parts! A lot of places will just glue on cheap material and it won't last as long. We use the exact same manufacturer's glass to replace it. So wherever you go make sure they use the real thing and they don't just glue it on." I said thank you and stepped out. I thought about it and felt it was a nice gesture for the clerk to try and ensure I got quality service wherever I ended up, and that coupled with the convenience of already being there I decided to just go with these guys. I should have followed my instinct and researched first. Their Yelp account alone reflects an unenthusiastic public reception. I gave them my phone and picked it up later that day. With taxes the total came out to $153.64. They didn't mention a warranty - I asked about it. At which point they said "Oh yeah, 30 days, one month you can bring it back any problems." Great, fine. Exactly two days later on the 15th (yesterday), my phone slipped out of my pocket while I was in a kneeling position petting a dog. The phone fell, in a case, about one foot to the ground. Not only did the screen shatter, the screen actually physically popped out. Everyone nearby was completely shocked at the damage as it had only dropped about one foot to the ground. I was really surprised, but not worried because they had ensured me they did the exact same process with the exact same material as the manufacturer. Clearly some small error occurred when they fixed it as that amount of damage would never have occurred normally after a drop of such little distance. I was not worried at all. I would have gone that night, but they closed before I got home from work that evening. This morning, 6/16, three days after they supposedly fixed it with the same process and same materials at the manufacturer, they absolutely refused to assist at all. They refused to claim any responsibility at all for their shoddy workmanship. Furthermore - and this is the best part - they changed their story several times. The two gentlemen who appeared to have seniority in the shop said it wasn't the same as Apple materials, then it was, then when I confronted the clerk who assisted me initially (who wouldn't make eye contact the entire time) said he told me he said it was the same material because he was told to say it was. But apparently, now it wasn't again. Which is it? They would neither refund me nor fix the screen that they supposedly fixed three days ago. Their warranty, like their workmanship, is worthless. In store replies to the negative comments on Yelp they indicate customer service is their number one priority. If that were true, it completely baffles me that you would not do the right thing and either refund me or offer to replace the screen at no charge. Please save your money and go to a store that will stand behind their work and their word. read more

Don't get scammed like I did. This repair place is a big mistake. Whenever we have problems with our cellphones we trust repair places to fix and get rid of the the problem, but at Cellular Gallery the problem actually gets worst, trust me on this one. Got a cheap quote over the phone when I called them for my Note 5 camera's broken protective glass (this is how they get you to chose them). Now the actual camera lens are fine and was working just fine. It just had that broken outer glass part that wasn't pretty. Even took photos with it and it was working just fine. Went there during my lunch to get it fixed. They told me I had to leave it for at least 2 hours. That alone was kinda shady for me, but since I was there I had it done. Before I even let them touch it I clarified that i only need the outer glass part replaced and nothing else because the camera was just fine. When i came to pick it up after work, the big guy in front told me I would need to buy a new camera. That it was broken as well blah blah blah BS. When they showed me my phone it was naked with all the internal parts showing. When I inspected it, they showed me my camera without the outer glass. I quickly noticed a very visible white cloud bubble on my camera which was definitely wasn't there before I let them touch my phone. I argued that wasn't my camera and insisted them to placed my original one back but they insisted they never even touched the camera itself. They even got the nerve to get pissed and said I was very insulting with my accusation. Even after I showed them the pictures I took, and showed them how my camera now was super cloudy with almost zero visibility they insisted they had nothing to do with the problem. Clearly I wasn't going anywhere with the argument. When I just decided to leave they put back my phone including the $45.00 outer glass replacement within under five minutes. That made me think of all the stuff they could've replaced on my phone with the "2 hours they needed to replace the glass". They are not to be trusted. read more

Was not only unable to repair my phone, but actually soiled and did severe damage to the screen (underneath the glass) in the process. Granted, the phone was dead so it didn't ultimately matter, but the repairman totally denied that it could have possibly been their doing. A simple apology would have been nice. He also asked me for my phone password when I initially dropped it off, which should have been a red flag. I dried it out, turned it on - it worked mostly except for the display being dim on one side, managed to make a backup of it, then it died completely. When I returned home from my trip, I brought it here. Michael and his team spent a lot of time checking it out to see if they could fix it - thankfully they didn't charge me anything for the diagnostic. I recently received notification on my iPhone 6 that my battery may need to be serviced. I'd previously scheduled an appointment at the Apple Store on third street promenade for the upcoming weekend; however, I found myself with an unexpected day off work and figured I would check the near by Cellular Gallery to see if they could replace my battery. I was welcomed into the store (by the owner I presume) who was currently engaged with another customer, asked what service I think I may need, then politely told to take a seat and told they'll be right with me. No more than a minute and a half later, the young man who was working with the presumed owner wrapped up with his customer and waved me over for service. I told him about the battery, they told me the technician would be in at 2 (it was around 11 at the time), and that it would be finished by 2:30. I arrived around 4 and found my phone repaired (with a much longer battery life!!) and prompt, friendly service from the men I'd interacted with earlier in the day.
