Deceptive billing practices - explained exactly what I needed done during visit and asked exactly what I would be charged. I did not want to use my health insurance as I would need to get a referral, pay for that visit, and then pay again for this visit. Was told the price and agreed. Had the visit and "pain in full" at the end. Weeks later received a bill from them which essentially doubled the price of the visit. I was with the PA for less than 15 minutes and was ultimately charged $300. They lied to me, and on top of that, the procedure did not work so I will have to find another solution. read more

After the 2nd time of trying to come in for my scheduled appointment, the front desk wouldn't let me, citing insurance issues. My insurance is active and valid, and after leaving last time I spent an hour on the phone with my insurance company and their office. I got several follow up calls from their office as well saying everything is fine and good to go. I went today to my re-scheduled appointment with Dr. Reena Jain, and after the first ten minutes of checking in started with all the same issues, as if nothing was ever resolved. I left without seeing Dr Jain, and am not going back there, and disappointed because I really liked my doctor and went regularly for several years. . They really need to get it together! read more

Patient care was good, but the BILLING experience and simply reaching anyone at the Center for Dermatology & Plastic Surgery was HORRIBLE. I was incorrectly billed and have spent the last three months trying to get it resolved. They outsource their billing, so there's no one to talk to to get a problem resolved. The people who answer the phone (outsourced) can only repeat what's on the EOB. The Center incorrectly billed me after I paid in CASH for a procedure--meaning they billed my insurance TOO (and received payment) for something I paid out-of-pocket for. Clearly, this is unethical. The patient portal hasn't worked for months, there is no way to email anyone, and so I've had to send three letters to ask for help. I finally got someone on the phone a few weeks ago (she was very helpful, I thought). She said she would look into it and called me back and left a message. No updates. I called her back, no reply. I got a revised bill this week for a lower amount -- no explanation of why this was adjusted and the description for the service is incorrect. This is a mess and I am in the process of finding another provider. I'm currently on hold (again) to try to get this resolved. Steer clear! I have never left a provider due to poor billing and patient communication, but this is ridiculous. What's the point of having care if you can never reach anyone? read more

My husband and I have been patients at this location close to 5 years now,. We picked this Dermatology practice because of the positive reviews we read when looking for a dermatologist. Kara Gooding takes very good care of us. She is friendly, professional and proficient at her job. The office is clean, bright and welcoming and the front office staff are also friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful when needed. My teen daughter is a new patient trans from Oregon. Appt made over the phone and she was very sweet(wish I could recall her name) however turns out everyone is awesome! Office is beautiful and over all visual appearance is outstanding! Ck in was very prompt! HORRIBLE BACK OFFICE As recommended, I had a skin cancer screening two years ago, a sample was taken, and nothing was found. Great news! 2 YEARS LATER I receive a balance due. Are you serious? Two years later!! I called to inquire why I had received this bill, and was informed they had up to five years to bill their patients. I wasn't calling for the legal reason, I was calling to find out why you would want to treat your clients this way. I was told that it was due to a recent audit they had. I asked them to send me a breakdown of the bill, because clearly if you had an audit that discovered things that hadn't been done then perhaps you have not recorded the payments that I gave you in the first place. Unfortunately, due to this process, or lack of process, I will not be returning for any additional services. I have never gone to any medical facility that ended up billing me YEARS later. read more

The office was welcoming, clean, neat, with plenty of seating. The staff was friendly and warm. I barely had to wait in the exam room before the doctor arrived. Good in-depth analysis of my moles and skin. They had the old notes and pictures from previous visits. One mole had to be removed, which again happened within a few minutes. The provider is nice, but I don't recommend coming here if you have a job. They cater to the older/retired population. I've had my appointment for a year. I've been sent (and replied to) numerous reminders and checkin emails. Now, less than 48 before my appointment they left me an email that they moved my appointment. Apparently it was in a "new patient" slot and I needed an "established patient" slot. So they moved me and asked me to confirm. When I called to ask about it, the response was "at least it's only 20 minutes" and that I should "be vocal" with the provider. I know the provider has nothing to do with scheduling and I've never had any medical office move an appointment without first confirming if the new time works. If it's "only 20 minutes" and that's inconsequential, then why not keep it as is? It's not like it's my fault they booked me in an incorrect time slot. Now I'm not confident I can make it to work on time. (I have a history or precancerous spots and areas of concern so I can't reschedule in another month or so when they have availability.) So for me it's not "just 20 minutes." It's likely a day of work. If you are retired and any time works for you, the receptionists are pleasant in person and the providers are awesome. But if your time isn't 100% flexible, I'd look elsewhere. read more

Horrible expensive! Called and asked what an office visit would cost and was told it starts at $100. My10 minute office visit was just shy of $250.00. I contacted them 3 times to ask if this was correctly billed and was told I would need to take it up with my military insurance. My insurance paid just fine. No problem they covered more than half as I would expect. The office did not have the equipment to treat and referred me to their other office over an hour away. I went elsewhere and the office call and treatment was less than center of dermatology and plastic surgery's initial call. read more

Dr Karin & Dr Kelly have been incredible in helping me with numerous skin issues - from prescribing medication for psoriasis to removing pre cancerous moles. Trying to find new doctors when you move is never easy. Having to get referrals through your insurance is not always a good fit either, but we do what we have to do to stay healthy. I was referred to this office from my PCP, reviews weren't great but everyone deserves a chance. I can tell you this, there won't be a 2nd visit here! My doctor (PA-Karen Brimhall) was amazing - if I could've given her 5 stars alone, I would have. Pleasant, welcoming, patient, thorough, very kind. The rest of the staff, not so much. Checking in/out - both receptionists were unfriendly, & the one who checked me out was just plain rude! The nurse assistant was also quite rude. Acted annoyed that I didn't know what medical terminology they used at my previous doctor & why I was there. I even advised her there was a history of melanoma in my family, which was why I try to get checked often. I told her I could get the records sent over, & was told 'yes, let's do that so we're not guessing'. I'm not a child & don't appreciate being spoken to that way. Plain & simple, if you don't like your jobs, then you shouldn't be in a position where you have to work with patients! read more

I'd give them no stars if I could! My husband has two small cysts on his back. Had an appointment to have them drained or removed. Three women looked at his back and said, "yep you have two cysts that need to be cut out. Come back another day" !!!!!!! How's that for milking the insurance business!!! Yes WE KNOW he has cysts! Can you imagine telling a dentist you have a cracked tooth, they confirm it and say to come back! How about an eye doctor!?!?!? We won't be going back! Very disappointed with thoroughness of examination. I only go every few years and need a good scan of my back, head (bald), etc. PA Brimall did not even have me stand or look. She simply asked if I had any concerns. When I said my head and back, she did the most cursory look and just peeked around my shoulder while I remained seated. I did have one rash on a finger I pointed out. She prescribed a $239 bottle of ointment. The pharmacist said I might try the $4.99 bottle hydrocortisone. It cured it in three days. read more

Just returned from a really awful experience at this location. I went to have a little spider vein collapsed on my shin that I have had since a serious bruising 40 years ago. No other problems with veins on my legs. When I was called back to the exam rooms, I was told to put on a gown, take off pants and shoes, and someone would be with me shortly. In comes the MA who introduces herself and two women with a ultrasound machine. The MA explains to me how the veins in my legs work, while the ultrasound tech is putting gel on my legs. At some point, I interrupt her to ask her if the ultrasound is covered by my insurance, because I haven't asked for it, nor have a been explained why my 40 year old spider vein (that originated from a bad bruise in my teens) requires an ultrasound. After confirming that it is a "procedure" and that my insurance "probably won't cover all of it", I told them to stop. They promptly stopped the ultrasound and rolled out of the room. Then she tells me (after I asked) that the doctor will do a "consultation" for my spider vein and that it will cost $75, which will NOT be applicable to the procedure. At this point, I told her I did not want to see the doctor, and I would be leaving. What a racket. I am sure most people just think this is in the hands of the "good doctor". Please, people, ask questions and you will not be disappointed later with a FAT bill that was for NO GOOD REASON. Be your own advocate. This was a heist. I feel sorry for people like my elderly mother that think this is all part of "healthcare", when really it's part of "wallet-care". And just a hint: It's not your wallet. Shameful. read more
