First off, there truly are not enough words to describe how blessed and thankful I am to have met Dr. Shah at the Center for Orthodontic Excellence. I have suffered from TMJ for nearly 10 years, starting around age 14. It was a condition that developed after I already had braces and after MRIs, meeting with oral surgeons, and talking with various doctors, we realized I had TMJ. Many times I felt hopeless because I know TMJ can be a chronic condition. After much research, my mom came across Dr. Shah and the excellent reviews he had. After consulting with UPENN, it was recommended that I try splint therapy or an orthodontic approach to see if that would provide any relief. I was skeptical because I had been sleeping with a mouthguard that had done very little. My first appointment with Dr. Shah gave me an entire new outlook and hope that he could help me. I started splint therapy in November of 2012 and still use my splint every night. So many of my symptoms have been relieved! And not only that, but any time I had any question or concern (even to this day), Dr. Shah is always there for me! He responds to all of my e-mails very quickly, fits me into last minute appointments, and even called me to check on me one evening when I was having some anxiety issues! I don't just feel like he's a doctor; I feel like he's a friend. I have learned so much from him and I feel so reassured knowing he is always there for me. I 100% recommend the Center for Orthodontic Excellence for any of your needs, especially if you are suffering from TMJ disorder! I am the Dean of Students for an international summer gifted program at Princeton. We have students from forty plus countries and most of the 50 states. In past years when we have had students from other countries or places in this country that had no where to turn to for help if their braces have broken. Not only has this practice helped us, they did so with the friendliest nicest staff I have ever encountered. Extremely happy with my choice to use COE as my Orthodonist. I came to them as a patient looking to relieve TMJ pain and alignment issues I've dealt with since my teen years. Dr. Shah has extensive experience in treating these conditions. I am 1 year into a projected 2 year plan and am very pleased with the progress. Heads aches, lock jaw and facial pain has been minimized already and the teeth are aligning beautifully. Family and friends are noticing the improved symmetry and aesthetics to the teeth and jaw.
