Went to take a pair Naya Fauna Ankle-strap Suede Flats to have the soles reglued. The wife of the shoe shop said they couldn't be fixed!! She further said they were not with it. She also stated they would charge $40. I took them to Broadway shoe repair, 'awesome' and so are Swanson's! Stay away from Renton shoe repair ! So they might be brilliant at repairing shoes, but they refused to take mine to fix. I made a 30 minute drive to this repair shop with two pairs of boots that I really wanted to get fixed, but after looking at them, they refused to take them to fix, saying that they were beyond repair. Unfortunately one of the pairs is my absolute favorite pair of shoes, so now I'm out looking for another cobbler for a second opinion. (They might be right. I don't know. The Danner store in Renton recommended Center Shoe Repair. CSR repaired leather damage that wasn't covered by the Danner warranty for a reasonable price. CSR resoled two pairs of my work boots, one Red Wing, one Danner, and the new soles on my Red Wings are the best soles I've had. My warehouse often has spills of water, oil, detergents, and hydraulic fluid on its concrete floor. The Silvato Vibram sole has helped me stay on my feet in some slippery situations. The last place that resoled my Red Wings didn't seal the edges properly, and water/dirt began to wedge in the toe of the boot between the sole and the pad. CSR sealed the soles up nicely all the way around, so no liquids, pebbles, or dirt can enter.Three months later and everything is still good. read more

I walked in, the smell was abhorrent. But I disregarded that (wondering about the chemical's effect on the honey and fudge that was oddly for sale). I asked for a resole and a 1/4 centimeter insert for left shoe. After some haggling we settled. I came in over a week later and the resole seemed fine. However, the sole color choice was off and there was obvious damage to the leather from the resoling. It also took them 15 minutes to find my shoes, pulling out a bunch of random pairs asking if they were mine. Then I asked about the insert to make sure it was in there because I didn't see it. The guy paused, and nodded. Well, after paying almost 70 bucks for the two alterations, I know now they lied and never put an insert in. Because these boots now cause me severe back pain, which didn't happen before. So I would love to support local, but now I cannot trust them. read more
