We attended some of their concerts in Dover-Foxcroft, but it is nice having them back in Dexter and in the intimate theater. Most recently, we went to a brunch there, but we also enjoyed the first concert of the summer, a singer/songwriting duo, and I expect we will attend every concert that comes along. The stage is up a flight of stairs but they should have their lift chair ready to provide access by the next show. The theater area is dark, at least for me as I have discovered my night vision has deteriorated over the last six months. We sat in the back so I wouldn't be stumbling into seats or people I couldn't see clearly. Great people run the Grange, so if you like a variety of acoustic music, be sure to support their efforts..

I was on a panel about suspense and the influence of Stephen King, and it was fun to have that event in the heart of Derry/Bangor. The theater was attractive, with a nice stage and a spacious seating area. There were some cool chandeliers that looked like crystal jellyfish. I gather that the theater is a town landmark and important cultural institution, putting on a full roster of shows when it isn't hosting one-off literary events. There was a little bar off to one side of the theater, apparently called The Stage Door. I hung out there with friends and new acquaintances before and after the panel. I got to try two cans of local beer, the Orono Tubular Hazy IPA and the Sacred Profane Dark Lager. Both were delicious beers that I never see at home. I had a lovely time at the Penobscot Theatre Company and am glad I got to visit on my first trip to Maine. I'd recommend it for all your Bangor theater needs, as well as any events about the great Stephen King.

Everything from the online tickets to the ease of getting your seat from the ushers. The Theatre itself is a beautiful old space that makes you feel a bit back in time. Located right in downtown Bangor, it's easy to get to, parking isn't a problem, and there are some great dinner options nearby before a show. Looking forward to our next visit.

We were in the rear of the first floor orchestra section and it was fine. Parking is fairly easy to find, even during Christmas shopping time like when we went. They are trying to do the right thing currently during Clovis, requiring masks and proof of vaccination. Of course they can't do much about the losers who take them off once they sit down. They made an announcement, but you can hardly except volunteers to go around and enforce the rule and risk a scene with a yahoo. I only had a minor beef with them when we went: our show started 20 minutes late . There was no obvious reason as attendees had stopped coming in. Normally I wouldn't have cared, but it had started snowing earlier and I would have preferred to hit the road sooner and gotten home before midnight. It was a stressful drive, but that wouldn't prevent me from attending another event -- perhaps not in the dead of winter, though!

My wife has mobility issues, and the Merrill Auditorium and Bangor's outdoor amphitheater apparently do not want her to attend. Concerts in both of those places were ordeals in comparison. But where the Collins Center is concerned, there is plenty of parking, including handicapped spaces, right next to the building. And plenty of leg room in all the aisles. This place joins a very short list of indoor venues we are willing to plan on attending.

What a unique and wonderful find!…read more I wanted to see a movie that came out less than two weeks ago, but when I searched showtimes my usual (closer to home) theater had no more showings. But Maine Film Center was listed with showtimes, so I decided to give this new place a try! And I'm so glad I did! The building and amenities are all new and stunning! The theater was small but had very comfortable seats (all with cup holders). The audio and visual quality was excellent too. I bought a small popcorn too and it was the best popcorn I've ever had at a movie theater! The popcorn kernels had great natural flavor and were enhanced only with a sprinkle of salt and the optional butter, which tasted like real melted butter. There was no taste of icky oils and powders like at other movie theaters. However, for those wanting a bolder flavor, there was an array of popcorn seasonings on the counter for customers to add to their popcorn if they so choose. The staff was also pleasant and helpful, helping me with my transactions, pointing me in the direction of restrooms, and answering any of my questions. I highly recommend the Maine Film Center and I look forward to going back!

We were warmly welcomed, and graciously thanked for attending. It was like going home to family, not a stiff cold theater at all! The inside has been extensively renovated and is BEAUTIFUL! I also was sitting in the back in a chair that was busted listening to the movies across the hall because all of the theater doors are open. I went out and shut the doors for the theaters right around our and then the doors for Narato so that I can actually listen to the Nosferatu movie not every other movie that had allowed crash bang audio track.
