So professional, he didn't even bring up my at home hack jobs...I did confess, I know I didn't have to, it was obvious, more an apology to him than anything. He has been dyeing and cutting my hair for many years and helped me to transition from great looking colored hair to great looking white...my natural color. He helped to make that transition a lot less painful with great interim cuts and encouragement. Currently, due to Covid, the health and safety of his clientele is utmost. Signage on the door clearly explains protocol so that there is no confusion about how/ when to enter, which was super helpful to me. It is so important to be appropriate and respectful of spaces that the public visits...always, and now more so. At my appointment time I was greeted at the door after he had finished routine cleaning. He has enough time scheduled between clients, was super timely despite extra measures. Safety first, masks, temperature scan, hand sanitizer for me and quick conversation, covering any questions I had and he was ready to go. Despite the fact that things are currently different than before, he made me feel comfortable and confident in his extra precautions. The salon is super clean, tidy and pleasant. Ric is a great host...and always has book and film suggestions (which is particularly welcome at the moment as my movie and book consumption has gone through the roof). I felt welcome and safe, got a great haircut...per usual. It was a treat. You can still purchase product, he'll get it for you...one stop beauty and shopping. With this said, I got very ill, and had to reschedule an appointment. i was on two antibiotics, and let her know 21 hours prior to my appointment. She texted me that I would have to pay for the missed appointment in full prior to rescheduling. I called her, assured her I was very ill, and she got very negative, saying because it wasn't 24 hours I owed her not only the price of the appointment, but her tip- totaling to $225- I told her I was extremely ill ( which I was- five days of being in bed) and she told me she was " done with me" and hung up. I tried to call her back, left a message, and never received a call back. Customers are everything. Also, if that is her policy, she legally needs it posted so no other loyal clients have any questions. Had she called me back, I was loyal enough to not only pay for the missed appointment ( but have given her the usual tip) I understand fully how challenging it is to run a salon with her talent as a solo act. I actually referred several people to her.. yet she chose the low ground. i am very disappointed, as in this businesses climate, I would expect her to be able to understand how having someone so ill would not be someone she wanted in her shop at that time. I actually offered to come in sick because she was so disgruntled. One woman shop. In business for many years. Really sad, very disappointing, and unacceptable in our current environment. I wish for her only the best, and hope she doesn't ever treat any other loyal client the way she treated mr.

The reason im writing this review is because when I called and asked if they cut young children's…read morehair (explaining to them my son was 3) they replied with a big yes, so I trusted their abilities with children. But their interaction with my 3 1/2 yr old was not as "child-friendly" as I was hoping. Yes they had a booster chair but that was about the only factor that made it a place for kids. Nice people, but a little too unprofessinal and an intimidating atmousphere for a young child. The energetic man who cut my son's hair was quite eccentric and seemed more interested in telling random stories to me and his co-worker then focusing on his haircut, or him and his comfortability. And when explaining how I'd like my son's hair cut I was interrupted and basically ignored. I was unhappy with the haircut and would never take him there again. I'd rather try cutting his own hair myself. If your child is 5 or 6, and you dont really care the quality of the cut, then go for it. In reality the Hair Connection is a small little place more for small little elderly women.
