Very poor quality work and customer service. I would not take anything for them to repair or repaint- you will not be satisfied. The item in for repair should not be worse when picking up then when it is taken in for repair. They do not return calls. Told that chair was completed for several weeks and first time it had glue all over the chair that was not there when taken in. Dan took sander to chair instead of trying to remove glue. He said it would take him time to fix. Told again chair was done and could pick it up any time. Called multiple times to make sure they were open (during listed business hours)- left message and no answer or call back. Went to pick up chair in listed business hours to pick up chair - the stain came off on my hands and clothing- this should never happen when told it has been finished for weeks. When asked about the wet stain reply was F..... B..... get out of here. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever delt with. Avoid this business at all cost!!!! The sign in front of Central Avenue Strip Shop also advertises for McKie Seamless Gutters- I would avoid using them for gutters. I hired these guys after waiting 13 years to redo my kitchen cabinets. All I wanted was to never have to paint my cabinets again. I wanted them stained with a clear coat so they look beautiful and I'd never have to paint them. Dan came out and totally messed up my entire kitchen he airbrush my blinds, he emptied out his airbrush on my wallpaper, he airbrushed my countertops my floor. My cabinets aren't even the correct color. He used a circular sander on my wood and put permanent circles all through my cabinets. Anyone who works with wood, knows that you sand with the grain not against it and definitely not in a circular motion. He filed all the corners off my cabinets now they're all kind of rounded weird. Permanently messed up my floors I cannot get this crap off my floors that he used. I currently have him in small claims court trying to recoup my money so I can replace my countertops in my flooring that he messed up. Do not hire this person if you want a good job. He did not plastic off any of my appliances or my doorways which he was airbrushing had stained all through the air. NEGATIVE 6 Star's on the Strip Shop!(SLOP SHOP) This Company is NOT AT ALL PROFESSIONAL! I thought I allowed the Owner to take my cabinet doors & drawers to do what they advertise, High quality performance. Unfortunately I am sad to report that my 12 year old could have painted them better! On top of it all when I pointed out the imperfections, the owner refused to correct his mistakes. The Owner (Dan) told me he didn't have time, he would strip them and I could do paint them myself and I would have to pay a 3rd of what I was supposed to pay initially, Then Hung Up on Me! I did not hire him to strip them to begin with. He was hired to sand off the little finish on the oak, fill the holes, prime and paint them. Plus he still has not returned any phone calls, emails nor texts. Not to mention return my property and it's going on 4 long Weeks! My 4 kitchen chairs wher repaired very well. 5 stars for the repair work. 60+ year old chairs are once again sturdy with no wiggling. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the paint job. The paint is already peeling anyplace the chairs are bumped. (Less than a week). It does not appear like any prep work was done prior to brush painting, they even painted over a piece of scotch tape. The price was good, but I would have gladly paid more for a job properly done: sanding and spraying would have been great! read more
