We recently had Stone Restoration Services polish our solid surface counters in our kitchen and bathrooms. The service was great! The lead technician, Bernd, and his assistant arrived on schedule. They did an excellent job removing all the stains and scratches. In addition, in our 1/2 bath, with the oldest vanity top, the Bernd took extra time and effort and restored both the sink and counter to a level that was better than when it was new! We had not asked him to do that, but he said he just wanted to do something nice for us! We had asked for the kitchen counters to be polished to a matte finish which Bernd did. However, within a week, we began to see small marks appearing. Bernd came back and determined that the marks were from moving items on the matte finish. I asked him to please talk to the company to get a quote for re-polishing them to a higher sheen that would not show these marks. The owner, Gregg Laviolette, called and scheduled a time for Bernd to come back to do this. When I asked him about the cost, he said they would not charge us anything! I cannot express how pleased I am with the work done on my limestone floors by SRS. I have the same floor in my kitchen, two dining areas, foyer, back hall, bath, two closets, pantry and laundry room. SRS cleaned the stone, stained all the grout and sealed and polished 1200+ square feet of flooring and also treated a stone table top. From the initial consultation, testing of different products, to the completion of the job in the promised time, everything was perfect. Gregg, you are very fortunate to have workers of this caliber (Berent--not sure of the spelling, John and Nolan) all were truly focused on my satisfaction. SRS did a fabulous job sealing and polishing all of granite and marble floors and counter tops throughout our home! Not only were they professional every step of the way but they treated our home like it was their own home. They were prompt, friendly and reliable. When they told us that they would be there at 8:00 a.m. they actually meant it! They were also clean and we noticed that at the end of the all day job, they went through the entire house making sure that they had cleaned up every area that they had been in. Also, they had so much pride in their work and it showed all of the way through the from the minute we called to schedule the appointment until the end. Today was my first experience using Stone Restoration Services and I must say it will certainly not be the last. I'm only sorry I did not contact them sooner. I had two problem issues in my home (that I wanted to deal with now). First, one of my bathrooms has very small tiles, older home and as I like to call them, '1970 style tiles'. Well, after Terry worked his magic and I'm telling you magic, they are now white again and absolutely beautiful! Next, everyone told me I could cut on granite, which I did. Needless to say, that was the wrong thing to do. I wore the granite down terribly where it lost it's color (black) and I was afraid, water was seeping in. Again, Terry worked his magic and my kitchen countertops look fantabulous. Looks like they are brand new! SRS worked wonders on my floor and counters and were a dream to work with. I could not be more delighted, but first a short story. We purchased our home from a developer who went bankrupt within a few weeks of move in. One of the granite counter tops was defective in that it was cloudy. He sent over three Italian granite "specialists" who worked very hard for about 3-4 hours, made a huge mess, and accomplished nothing. Fast forward 7 years and I meet SRS and decide to try again. I wanted it corrected because it would look better and if we ever wanted to sell, it would not detract from the selling price. SRS sent over one of their specialists, and in one hour the entire job was done, cleaned up "hospital clean", and it was perfect! I could not believe my eyes. We have a 7 year old large slab of marble as a kitchen island and a few side counter pieces. We have struggled with accumulating etching rings, and other marring after years of teenagers in the house. With them grown and living on their own now, it was time to "do the fix". SRS quoting pro (Gregg Laviolette) was excellent with option development and ultimate recommendation for what we had (not the feared sell you what you dont need). The technician suggested we try a home remedy first, potentially saving us hundreds of dollars. Everyone we worked with at SRS, from sales to technicians, was professional, deeply knowledgeable, and interested in achieving the results we desired. They stripped, deep cleaned, and resealed our 1960s slate flooring (irregular flagstone, with very dark grout stains). All of the stains were removed (or significantly reduced) and the floor looks like a new install!! SRS refinished a large piece of marble that was probably from 1858. It sits on a beautiful old table, that was left to us after my husband's 95 year old mom passed. Never thought anyone could remove the stains from that marble. We live in St. Clair County and called all over. Not a business here restored marble, so we were happy SRS said they would give it their best. Looks absolutely beautiful. These guys did a bang-up job! My countertops needed refinishing and they did a wonderful job. The task was not easy as the countertops are 20 years old. The refinisher, who had been with the company for many years, was so concerned about customer satisfaction that he called many other refinishers to make sure he could get the countertops to their original finish.
