Perhaps it was a good place then, but our experience was pretty bad. The drinks and food didn't taste very good, but to make things worse, we all got sick from eating there (which ruined a few of our big plans in Mexico City, not least the visit to the Frida Kahlo museum). The waiter also behaved a bit strangely. We tried to speak our broken Spanish to him because he didn't appear to speak English, but then about 10 minutes into the interaction, all of a sudden he comes to our table speaking perfectly fluent English and says, "I see that you're struggling to speak Spanish, so let's do this in English". Why not just tell us from the start that he spoke English? To be fair, we didn't ask if he spoke English (it had been a long day), but you'd think it would be natural for him to bring up right at the beginning that there was a much easier way for us to communicate so that we didn't have to "struggle" (as he put it).

When our party of 7 arrived, it was already raining outside, yet we were seated in the patio area under a very thin plastic covering that had multiple HOLES in it. The staff clearly knew about the condition of the covering, but still seated guests underneath it. Three people in our party were immediately getting wet. We brought this to the hostess's attention, and she told us that we could move inside once a table became available, which we were completely fine with. However, the rain became much heavier, and two more people in our group started getting soaked. At that point, we moved inside the very small restaurant to wait for a table to open. Instead of being able to sit together, time continued to pass and they eventually brought our food out while half of our party was still stuck outside. We were literally trying to have a meal while dealing with rain and trying to figure out where everyone could sit. What made the situation even worse was the attitude of the hostess. She was extremely rude and dismissive throughout the entire situation. I specifically mean the hostess with the piercing in the middle of her Cupid's bow. When I spoke to the manager about what was happening, his response was essentially, "I know it's uncomfortable." That response was incredibly disappointing. Of course it was uncomfortable -- the issue is that the restaurant knowingly put us in that situation in the first place. If your patio covering has holes and it is actively raining, guests should not be seated there, especially when you know they are going to get wet. I'm honestly shocked by how little consideration was shown toward our party. Things like rain are obviously outside of a restaurant's control, but how you handle your guests during an unexpected or difficult situation is completely within your control. Madonna failed at that. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Especially when it's raining considering the very very very limited seating. And if the hostess with the Cupid's-bow piercing is assisting you, I would hope you have a better experience than we did.
