Fantastic, cute B&B walking distance to the main strip of Southwest Harbor…read more My wife and I stayed here for our 15th wedding anniversary and so got the top-floor suite with private deck complete with hot tub as well as a kitchen/living area. The whole space was amazing, but the massive private deck with the view was really the best part. The deck was so big with so many seating spaces that even across two nights we didn't manage to use all of them. There were two day beds under a small roof which we pushed together and wound up falling asleep under the stars both nights and moving into the room later in the night. The hot tub was everything you'd expect. There was a table we ate dinner at one night and a lounging area we never got to use. The only downside was that the deck was super-wet from dew each morning. The day bed under the roof was dry enough for us to eat the breakfast they brought up to the room on while enjoying the view. We didn't use the communal heated pool or honor system bar, but they both looked nice if you were staying somewhere other than the top floor with the private deck. The location is great. Other than the view, it was a 7-minute walk to Beal's lobster pier for lobsters and lobster rolls and a 12-minute walk into town where we had our anniversary dinner at Harbor Table and there's other nice things in town as well. The included breakfast was also good and better when served in our room. The first morning it was blueberry spread on a baguette where the bottom half was French toast. It was different and delicious especially with bacon on the side. The room itself was spacious with a huge bathroom and a living and kitchen area that we badly used other than the decent sized fridge which was great to keep lobster rolls for the next day and beer for the evenings. The bedroom itself was a bit smaller than you'd imagine and only had a queen-sized bed just because of the layout of the top floor, which used to be an attic. Overall, the only downside is that they don't allow kids, so if we ever come back and come with them (which is likely), we'd need to find another place.

The rooms we saw were beautifully done and in great shape. Housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast was great and abundant! Yogurt and fresh fruit, home baked coffee cake, and then a main, eg pancakes with blueberries, sausage and egg, or French Toast with same, etc. And we loved the hot tub -- just the ticket after a day of hiking. Would definitely return!

They were super jealous of our cabin and we definitely cannot blame them! A few nights were super chilly and the heat really made the cabin so cozy. The couple who runs these cottages are so nice and accommodating. It's the perfect location to enjoy the quiet side of Acadia. The shops and restaurants in southwest harbor are so close you could walk back to your cottage.

It was the most luxurious place I'd ever stayed! Tucked off the main street in Southwest Harbor, this is a quiet little spot with well maintained grounds and amazingly organized cabins. Top notch bed and pillows. It's about a twenty minute drive to Bar Harbor, but it's easy and quick once you get the feeling of the layout. The "office" has extra swimming towels, movies, and books about Acadia. It's really awesome how the owners, Tom and Vickie, care about their customers. A downside was barely seeing the owners! We went in during their office hours but didn't see them. We received an invoice, and I was sad to not chat within our 48 hours of staying there. The 10am check out also was pretty brutal. You also clean your own cabin, which is okay, but we made breakfast and tea- doing dishes while packing up and paying the expensive price before 10? That was not great. It's pricey here, but it's so luxurious and beautiful, it's worth the splurge.

Everything about Harbour Cottage Inn from start to finish was perfect. The check-in was seamless and I was greeted warmly while being shown around the property. My room was clean and spacious with a large comfortable bed and soft linens. The bathroom had all the necessary toiletries and the shower had ample water pressure. I appreciated all of the little touches from the afternoon sweet treats in the common area to the thoughtful breakfast dishes. I appreciated the endless supply of coffee and the fresh lemon water. It was wonderful to sit and enjoy breakfast on the patio as well as an evening meal when the dining area turned into the Bowspirit. All of the meals were absolutely phenomenal and some of the best I had while visiting Maine. I would not hesitate to come back and stay here again. Preferably sooner rather than later! The accommodation was top-notch, and the hospitality was superb.

What a gem of a place !! Wish I could move in.

Breakfast each morning was out of the park - Some of the best breakfast I've ever had. Wine and Cheese in the afternoon was fantastic - Alan does a wonderful job picking out some delicious cheese and tasty wines. Also makes for some good conversation with the other guests ! Service was top notch. I really enjoyed coming back from dinner and having a light turned on for us, shades drawn, and fresh cookies on the table. It's a very warming experience. The bed was extremely comfortable with an abundance of covers (for those cold Maine nights!). I would recommend Ann's Point Inn to anyone who can afford to spend a few more bucks over the Bar Harbor hotels, as you will not receive better service and delicious food anywhere else.

Gretchen makes you a full breakfast each morning, to get you ready to explore or in my case work. She gives great advice on where to eat and where to explore, she is also a wonderful person just to sit with and talk about life! She has single person rates and couple rates. Three bedrooms with private baths. It's an old house so bathrooms are not in the rooms but near them. You can use the fridge to keep things cold and use the washer if needed. By the time you leave you'll feel like you are leaving family.

"Not your standard B&B."…read more Gretchen is a delightful innkeeper. She has a wealth of world experiences and knowledge that makes for great conversation. Having been traveling for two weeks and staying at all B&B's, we have quite an ability to compare B&B lodgings. Speaking specifically about the Inn, you stay in the home of the innkeeper, using her living area for your living area. The living area has a very worn look. There is a big, black, well-loved cat in the living area, so beware, if you happen to be allergic, which is my case. There are tall steps to the second floor, which has the 3 rooms for rent, along with the innkeepers room. Each bedroom is large and nicely decorated and has a private bath, but they are down a narrow hall outside of your room. The bathrooms are nicely remodeled. The carpet down the narrow hallway is very worn, discolored and doesn't cover the exposed planks of wood leading into the rooms and bathrooms. Gretchen has a set breakfast menu for each day of the week. This does not allow for substitutions for dietary needs. I am not a heavy breakfast eater, so I like the idea of having a variety of foods to be offered. (toast or bagel, yogurt, hard boiled egg) If you don't want eat the planned menu, then cereal is the choice. So depending upon what you are wanting for as a B&B experience, you may enjoy Penury Hall. I think for $165/night it is very overpriced, compared to where we have been staying. The rooms were not tended to during the day. I do not want to discount the joy of visiting with Gretchen, but the cost of the stay is not the value that we expected. Room Tip: No WiFi in the bedrooms, but it is available in the living room.
