Came to dinner when we were staying at the Airbnb across the street. Came on Saturday and it was busy but we were able to get a table. It's a cute little restaurant with some yummy choices for dinner. I saw risotto on the menu but didn't want the lobster and they gave it to me without (but added the house vegetable) and for a cheaper price- it was delicious! There were a few other gluten free and vegetarian options. Some nice drink choices, I went with a wine. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. I recommend. read more

This cafe just started serving breakfast so it was an ideal give it a try breakfast spot. The dining area is small, quaint. It you don't feel like you're on top of other diners. Greeted and seated quickly. Met Bill our server who was phenomenal! My husband had an Atlantic Brewery Blueberry Ale and I had a Wonderland Margarita. (A very well made tasty drink!) We ordered a puff pastry with lobster for an appetizer. Then I had the mescaline greens salad with lobster added. Incredible! Many flavors. My husband had the stuffed baked haddock. I had a little anxiety because my in-laws and I tried going to Beal's for dinner and the wait was like 1.5 hours. We drove around for an alternate restaurant. Though everything seemed closed because of COVID, Cafe Drydock was luckily open. I'm usually skeptical about hotel or motel restaurant food, but we had a great experience here. We started with bacon-wrapped scallops and boursin-stuffed mushroom caps. Reminds me of my catering days. We could split both dishes perfectly amongst those of us who wanted to try. Because we consumed so much lobster that week, no one ordered seafood. I got the tenderloin tips gorgonzola. Hooray for red meat and cheese! Service was fantastic, and I never ran out of prosecco in my glass. What a cute and quaint spot. I'd be curious to stay at the inn. We ended up going to Beal's the next day for lunch. Turns out we needed a quiet evening anyways. Cafe Drydock has patio seating... in the future I'd request a table NOT in direct sunlight. Otherwise we had a blast. read more

The service was excellent and nice. But we went at a crowded time (so it was quite loud) and the food seemed a bit rushed. The brussel sprouts were outstanding and garlicky like the best ever. Atmosphere was nice, but service not so much. We ordered 2 lobster dinners that came with broccoli and mashed potatoes. We wanted to substitute the mashed potatoes for french fries because one of us is lactose intolerant. The server told us that for a $5.00 upcharge, we could get fries or dinner salad instead of the mashed potatoes. We both decided to get the salad. When our dinner was served, the server brought out our lobsters first which were stone cold and then the salads. One salad she forgot the oil and vinegar and when requested she only brought out vinegar. Also, the cucumbers were bottom of the barrel rotten and we never received our broccoli. There was also no soap in the ladies room. Never going back there again. read more

Stopped in for lunch after the lighthouse. Had a chicken sandwich with mushrooms and Boursin sauce and it was very good. Pasta salad was outstanding! Great sized portions and very good service! Stayed here with my SO while in Acadia for a wedding, and the inn was such a nice place to come back to at the end of each day. There's a fridge / microwave, chairs for lounging, and quite a large bathroom (though a teensy shower. Definitely only fits a max of one). The owner (manager?) was really accommodating when I called late with some questions (we drove up so got in past 11). She gave us everything we needed to know in terms of keys and parking. We didn't ask for anything besides that, but I'm sure they would have been happy to help should we have needed more assistance. We didn't take advantage of the attached restaurant, but it seemed like a great option! Definitely a pleasant stay all around =] read more

The hostess / waitress appears to be largely unaware of HH special and disinterested in helping us. She is this week's least hospitable hostess/waitress. And though we are there during happy hour window. I receive the beer and discover we are charged full price. The two for one beer promise has unwritten restrictions. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful lunch that I enjoyed at Cafe Dry Dock & Inn on Main Street in Southwest Harbor in late October. It was the day after a heavy thunderstorm, and the restaurant was running on a generator, due to downed power lines in the area. We ordered the following, and everything (emphasis: everything) was very fresh, simply prepared, and delicious: 1. Raw Blue Hill Bay oysters ~ huge, plump, briny, with a sweet finish ~ wow! 2. Spinach Salad ~ described on the menu as "baby spinach, tomato, red onion, mushroom, bacon and sliced hard boiled egg, served with mustard dill vinaigrette dressing." 3. Lemon Butter Haddock ~ described on the menu as "fresh native haddock lightly seasoned and broiled in lemon butter." 4. Scallops Mornay ~ described on the menu as "Maine scallops baked with a light mornay sauce." The entrees (#3 and #4 above) came with a side of rice pilaf and a delicious, original salad that I hadn't eaten anywhere else. See pics! Service was friendly. To top it all off, the owner of the restaurant/inn was working shifts himself that day, due to the power issues and the generator running. He cheerfully greeted diners and helped out with service. Had no knowledge of what was what in Southwest Harbor as I was just driving by when I was very hungry. I picked the first place I came across that looked good. The staff was friendly and the menu looked good. I saw that caprese salad was listed as a special so I had assumed it was going to be great. It wasn't. I have had these all over and this was as generic as you can get - looked like store bought pre-sliced mozzarella and generic tomatoes. For $15, I was expecting fresh local mozzarella and heirlooms. With that said, the main course and dessert were quite good. read more

If I can give this place zero stars I would. It was a coincidence that my boyfriend and I stumbled upon here because we couldn't get a reservation at another local restaurant for dinning around 8pm. The host was great at seating us, but the waitress was completely the opposite. Very rude and cold upon greeting my boyfriend and I. Did not seem like she wanted to service our table after we waited for her over 15 mins upon being seated by hostess. Then once we finally ordered a bowl of clam chowder she decided to split it into two cups, which we didn't request! Our waitress slammed my cup of chowder down causing my spoon to go flying and almost falling off the table. She didn't even acknowledge it and apologize! No server should ever serve someone in this manner! I knew from here, my evening was not going to be great. I ordered oysters for my appetizer and he ordered their mushrooms. Soup was a disappointment too watery, the table bread and oysters and mushrooms were great surprisingly. As for our entrees it was completely off. The steak came out overcooked as well as our sides of broccoli, which was served ice cold. My scallop entree was a catastrophe! It was just slapped right on my plate and served. My sides were both cold and scallops were under cooked! The waitress never returned back to check on us to see how our entrées turned out until she came to ask us if we wanted dessert! We politely explained to her about our dissatisfaction with both entrees, then she offered to heat up our already "over cooked" broccoli in a microwave, which we kindly declined. So then she said to us I'll go get my manager. The waitress disappears for over ten mins to get the manager but only to return without the manger. The waitress explained how their "scallops are weighed" and she can only comp my boyfriends steak dinner. Instead of management trying to fix it or see if I wanted to replace my dinner with another option, I was left only to pay for it and to leave the meal behind at the restaurant. I will never return here and patronize this establishment because they simply have no idea on customer service and how to cook a basic dinner! read more

My family and I happened to stumble upon this quaint little restaurant when we where in search for dinner. We where immediately greeted by the hostess and got to choose our table. We chose a nice shaded area outside and where soon greeted by our waiter. We where all given drinks and menus to order from. We got the muscle appetizer and it was good and not to filling. We ordered and I got the fish tocos and a salad. The food took around fifteen minutes to arrive and when we got it it was filled Nicely and tasted good. But my husband ran out of water because the waiter didn't come to refill our waters. It is a good spot to stop and eat in a pinch but if I had better options I would not choose it. But overall I would recommend it to anyone who just wants a nice dinner in town. read more

So sorry to say after coming here for over 20 years tonight was the worst! Service was horrible, food pricey and non existent. Had the stuffed haddock and couldn't find the crab meat. Lobster meal came with 4 asparagus pieces and about 6 cut in half baby potatoes. At over 30 a plate would expect at least dinner rolls, which by the way was given to all tables except ours! We seemed like we were an inconvenience to the server who was busy strutting around and talking to people by the bar. Hopefully the get their act together! read more
